The Catalyst says that since Synthesis is possible, it's now inevitable...
But that is in-congruent with Synthetics inevitably wiping out all organics...

Reposting from the thread I made that got buried so fast:

I noticed something odd and this for the EC obviously.

So, the "new" scene shows Shepard getting forcefully ejected out of the beam teleporter thing onto the ground and he's just laying there. Then when Anderson says Commander or Shepard or whatever he says, Shepard wakes up, and his eyes open. Did anyone else hear some weird sound when he opened his eyes? It sounded kind of Reaper-like? I'm not entirely sure how to describe it, but it was definitley weird and something that I haven't seen mentioned yet.

Personally, I thought IT at first, but then the rest of the ending played out and...yeah we all know how it goes.

Just did the low EMS beam run. Not a nice thing to see, especially if you take your LI.

How'd she/he die?

She/he gets vaporized, while looking at Shepard. Pick Destroy and you essentially kill ... well, everyone.

Destroy LOW EMS is really a kick in the groin.

I must admit, the work put into EC feels more like it's the real deal epilogue, I'm losing alot of my faith in EC with this. The thing that only still intrigues me is the ending with Shepard in ruins ;|

Has anyone recorded videos of various low EMS endings?

Why does the kid walk out angrily when you chose reject(which i did by accident because i shot him........worth it!and had to start the mission again to pick destroy)
You think he would just say "fine the cycle will continue" or something like that.
And i still dont think IT is dead.
Also Think about indoctrination. It "persuades" you kind of agree or understand why the reapers do what they do.
Shep even does this,if you ask about how this is solving the problem he says "does a fire create chaos when it burns,it does what it was created to do"and shep seems to turn away and "understand" why they do what they do.

I wonder, does he yell at you if you choose reject and synthesis is not present? Its clear from what godchild says he doesnt really want control or destroy to happen, so if he still gets angry when synthesis isnt possible, it'd be extra weird.

doesn't this somewhat prove that the kid was just puting on a fake face to pursuade shep into doing what he wants

Well, I'm back and ready to speculate.  Also, I rejected Star-Brat.  I'll go back and choose the others at some point, but right now, I want to share my thoughts.  For one thing, when Shepard wakes up on the Citadel, you hear this weird noise.  I don't know what it is exactly, but I know this, something is screwy.  Also, when you come up, you see a Keeper examining a helmet that looks suspiciously like Shepard's.

Next, also when Shepard comes onto the Citadel, he walks past a corpse.  A corpse that looks suspiciously like Ashley.  And the camera even focuses on it.  Now, when you get to Anderson, it looks, to both myself and MegumiAzusa, who I had the pleasure of walking through the EC with, like Shepard is much more confused at Anderson's presence than he did before.

Now, once you get to Star-Brat, if you choose to say that you won't use the Crucible when he tells you about Destroy, his voice starts to echo.  A LOT.  And for a second,  I thought Shepard was about to wake up from a dream.  Now, the last point that I think is worth bringing up.  If you DO reject Star-Brat, his voice sounds EXACTLY like a Reaper's.  His name doesn't change, but his voice does.  A LOT.

So, if you ask me, I think IT is stronger than ever.  We actually have MUCH more solid evidence than we did originally (Not to say that we DIDN'T have solid evidence to begin with, I'm just saying that what's around is MUCH harder to mistake for bugs/glitches/bad writing/Bioware laziness.), and I fully believe that there is more to come, quite probably at the SDCC.

Edit: I just had a thought.  Reject seems to be the ending most like the old endings.  No real epilogue, rather unsatisfying, etc.  To me, that indicates that it's probably the one they're going to expand into IT if they DO go with IT.  And since I still believe that some form of IT was intended all along... yeah.

Well, to be fair, you've always been able to support the IT theory by picking and choosing your evidence.

Catalyst's voice sounds like Harby/a Reaper: +1 IT point
Shepard doesn't wake up at all, nor is there any mention at all of indoctrination: -1 IT Point (or all of them, really, since that was sort of the benefit of/hope for IT)

Depending on what you choose to believe, anything is possible.

Yea I'm starting to feel the same way too - that BioWare won't take a stance here.
They wanted the endings to speak for themselves.

Even if that means that I believe in IT and someone else doesn't. :?

What keeps bugging me though are some of the things in the game - that can only (at least to me) be explained logically through IT.

I dunno.....

Honestly, if you want to believe it, go for it. I just think it's silly to keep insisting that BioWare is supporting it by not addressing it at all :P

I never ever ever in a thousand cycles thought I would agree with GBGriffin....but.........yeah, I think he's completely right on this.

Humm, only done a single play through with the EC, destroy was my choice, I enjoyed the new scenes and the fact I could get my squad to safety, but though less numb than the last time the ending has still left me a little confused and not exactly hyped, with EMS below 4000 my Shepard gets the breath scene then game over, uh what?

I'm not overly concerned about I.T but that ending was not very different from what I've already experienced, perhaps ME4 continuing Shepard's story?, not sure I'm up for that, I'd resigned myself to this being the end of Shepard's story ages ago.

He's angry because he admits that his solution is no longer viable, the Crucible presents new options, but he can't enact  them, you have to. If you refuse to do anything, his (now) imperfect solution will have to continue. The frustration on his part is understandable.

Are you serious? We got a weird noise and a cool voice and you think IT is stronger than ever?? They explained away many of IT's main points. Why would they put 3 months of effort into explaining the plot holes and making it seem less like a dream if it IS a dream?

BioWare has also confirmed that there will be no more new DLC regarding the ending or anything after the ending. Thought they have lied countless times before so take that how you will...

Hey!! Holy f***!! My mind is blown!!! Just finished EC, and it was nice. I got the best Destroy ending and I feel it was an excellent send off for Shepard. I even got the breath scene. When I saw that I was p***ed. They didn't explain it. However I felt that it was an excellent send off anyway. Then I come on here and find this.

This is the single most awesome thing BioWare has ever done!! They made an extending of the original endings and secretly make a new one!!! This has to be the single most definite proof for IT I have ever seen.

Clever BioWare...^_^ Never occured to me to REJECT THE CHOICE!!! Still boggles my mind about the breath scene though... All I can say is that BioWare is officially my most favorite companies ever!! Great ending BioWare!!!  :D:lol::o:P

My only problem with this is that I see us theorizing on IT endlessly....and I'm being dead serious about this.
The way it stance - you can theorize both ways....and I'm seriously going to lose sleep over this.

Somehow....I just can't accept the fact that it's "my version"....dunno...

I see us theorizing on this well into next year - if things remain the way they are.

Now I have the feeling that all the three options are reapers trap. I have said this before but even when I saw destroy, my favorite choice, I just didnt like it, I dont know why but there was something really strange. Maybe the cycle is unavoidable... Or maybe we got trolled by Bioware.

Said it earlier: the catalyst shifting voice to the Reapers' vocal registry for SO BE IT serves as a knife to the heart that reminds the hero that they're still out there, and will finish the job in the absence of a choice.
