LOL, thinking about it that way seriously made me laugh out loud.

Both of my squadmates were covered in blood. Someone take EDI. I want to know if she gets covered in oil or something, or if there is literally any reason for EDI to be taken away on the Normandy.

As far as I can see, three new sources of analysis jump out.

1) Infrasonic search in new endings?

2) Talk of Harbinger saying something on the beam run.

3) Weird synthetic sound now when shepard wakes up on citadel.

Are there more avenues to explore?

It's all very interesting. They provided some closure, and it would be a very literal ending if not for that G D Breath scene! Still looks like London rubble with Reaper cables. There's still a solid 7 things of death Shepard would need to survive. Explosions. More Explosions. Red wave of Synthetic Death. Normandy didn't blow up this time which was nice, but still ended up on jungle planet in a broken state. EDI name on memorial wall with Andersons. Saw flashbacks of Anderson, Edi, Liara (LI), then sacrifices (Legion, Thane, Mordin).

Still..It's...it's still a big damn puzzle o_o

The breath scene really bugs me. Honestly if the endings are literal... Shepard must be on the Citadel.Still, surviving that explosion is too improbable. And the fact that the breath takes place after all the scenes of the future, rebuilding of the citadel and earth, bugs me too! Makes sense if it was a dream, but in a literal sense, blech. I was really hoping for more about the breath scene, at least revealing where Shepard was!

Yeah I expected something about the breath scene. I don't really feel closurified (closed?) without Shepard reuniting with the crew or at least my LI I had to leave in a very sad way Posted Image

Attentive readers of this thread may recall yesterday when I leaned too far back in my chair and fell over.

I've done it again!

I seriously need a new chair. This one is old and crappy and prone to flips apparently.

Okay, the Mako actually overtakes so it doesn't quite come out of nowhere.  And the team are hit by a bit of explosion, but nothing major.  Considering they've been by by missiles before...

Erm.  Yeah.  Weak still.

Did anybody notice that they cut the dialogue that supports IT? Anderson doesn't tell you that he got into the beam after you anymore. Hackett gets confirmation of you entering the beam.

AND.

The trees are still there. Why?

Literally acceptable? Perhaps. Thematically consistent? HELL NO. I'm more convinced than ever that IT is their intention.

I'm not convinced like you are, but I honestly cannot fathom how the writers could so fundamentally fail to understand the themes and ideas underlying their own series.  And the EC did absolutely nothing to address this, which was, by far, the one thing I most wanted them to address.

I just don't get it.

As am I.
Sigh....Looks like we'll have some more waiting ahead eh? I'm in for the duration, of course :).

And to those dismissing IT, I will agree that many things in EC seem to clarify a lot of our points but does not debunk all of them. The Nightmares still persists, the nightmare whispers when TIM assumes control of you, the oddity of everyone retreating when specifically told not to by Anderson. And above all else the damned Breath Scene ><

Of all the things they could have left out clarification on that was the ONE thing I wanted to see. Show me Shepard getting knocked back down the beam in Destroy and I'll believe it, but right now I cannot.

Aye, he told me that as well. Still prompting me to say almost outloud "Oh? Then how come I didn't see you, Flash?"

ALSO did anyone elses Shepard gasp louder than holy hell when waking up from being flung up the beam?

For 2GB, 3 months and a whole team working on it... The EC feels very underwhelming.

Anyway. A few thoughts:

1/ Starting at Cronos Base. Seemingly pointless, as nothing is changed at all in this mission - and heck, nothing is changed in London before Harbinger lands as far as I can tell. Where was this new content we were told about?

2/ The Normandy rescue. It was stupid on multiple levels. Firstly, a Mako appears out of nowhere to almost hit you and your team. No-one is hit, and yet they are both wounded. Shepard stops mid-charge to go back for them, huddles behind the wrecked Mako and calls in the Normandy. Which arrives almost instantly. Your teammates then board, and then seem suprised that they are being told to retreat. And then the Normandy flies off. With Harbinger not firing a single beam at it. Yeah.

I still can't believe Shepard's entire squad/crew agrees to just abandon him/her there... no.

3/ Hammer is still reported as 'completely annihilated', and yet Hackett gets a report 'someone' made it to the Citadel still. Erm, okay, who told him that? The same people who just reported complete destruction and called for retreat?

4/ Added Shepard being popped out of the conduit beam in the tunnel. No idea what that was supposed to add. Then moved Anderson's voice a little bit ahead so he's reporting things before Shepard is there already.

5/ Carnifex reloads properly now. But still has infinite ammo. Erm.

6/ The Catalyst has more dialogue. Cool, I guess. But he's relying even more on circular logic then ever before, dodges questions, gives weird answers with no foreshadowing or logic to them, and generally acts like a deceitful little sod as par normal.

7/ Shepard fails to ask the all important question - WHY being there makes the cycle unviable anymore. Choosing refuse just causes the cycle to continue anyway, so obviously being there changed NOTHING. Oh, and that ending sucked, a lot, was like a slap in the face for daring to not pick one of the original choices.

8/ Starbinger gets mad if you refuse him, or shoot at him, and screams "SO BE IT!" in a Reaper's voice, essentially proving its a Reaper (a fact it couldn't seem to decide in previous dialogue, switching between 'we' and 'they' quite a lot). But he's perfectly happy with you picking Destroy and killing him. Go figure.

9/ Speaking of Destroy, notice how they said it wouldn't necessarily kill EDI or the Geth via Twitter? Well, scrap that - they die regardless. Though Shepard on the other hand...

Yeah, saw this today. twitter.com/JessicaMerizan/status/217810186818162688 heh.

10/ Control. Again, Starbinger is mad if you stand up to him but he's perfectly okay with you taking his job. Erm. Okay. Not to mention it panned out like a really bad fanfiction with the Reapers suddenly turning all nice and rebuilding everything. And GodShep. /shudder

11/ Synthesis. Somehow they made it more ridiculous with that terrible graphic they added in. Not to mention making Husks 'alive'? That's horrifying! And yet, this is shown to be a great choice where everyone lives in happiness and peace and hope? Erm.

Agreed.

'd hee hee I love to hate this pic, thanks Hellish

12/ The Relays, they don't blow up with high EMS anymore? So much for not changing the endings, eh?

13/ No-one starves, somehow. Apperently the Relays aren't so damaged as to take more then however long supplies last in the fleet. Begging the question, how did everyone suddenly work out how Mass Relays work if you picked Destroy And fix them that fast?

14/ The Normandy isn't damaged by the shockwave. Joker isn't panicing anymore. And yet they still land on the same planet and get out for a bit, before flying off again. Erm... Cool?

15/ Why, if we take it all as it is... Does Shepard still wake up in rubble? And why if you pick Destroy do they hesitate to put up Shepard's name on the memorial board - how are they unsure of if Shep is dead?

Those are the biggest plotholes off the top of my head. I'm very confused.

Oh yeah but they somehow do know Anderson is, as his name is there...

Well, yes, but he says it differently. At least, that is what I think. It's not "I got after you, I'm following you and still got to the controls before you do". It's more... realistic.

We always were at war with Eurasia, pals.

Oh, and the Control ending is shown as having NO downsides beyond Shepard being 'dead'. Seriously?

Oh, and is it just me or does Shepard sound like he's reading TIM's script during his Reaper-God scene? Great principles you had there, champ.

So, I can't remember if the original ending specifically stated that Starbinger was a construct created by somebody else, but if he's just a glorified AI, how exactly does he pull the memory of the child out of Shepard's head?

Ugh. Other than getting a bit more closure with your squadmates, this EC really didn't address any of the things that it most needed to. Frustrating.

Is it just me or is there a distinct lack of Harbinger lasering during the "rescue sequence"? I hear what sounds like a concussive shot at 1:23, and some Avenger fire (why? there are no Reaper ground forces in the area...), but no lasering...

The best part is despite how the godchild tells you that it will be you who controls the Reapers, GodShep clearly doesnt think of herself as Commander Shepard, and acts like Shepard is just her mother or some crap.
