Oh god, Starbinger saying the Reapers are like a cleansing fire... Trying to make out they are a force of nature, and thus aren't evil.
Sorry, that's bull. Fire doesn't have intelligence or free will, merely obeys chemical laws.
Its as convincing as a murderer using the "It wasn't my fault I stabbed lots of people, its society!" defense.
You ould get deep here. i mean, does "free will" even exists? Every decision you make is simply your brain obeying chemical laws
The fact we can go against our nature. Basically if we're to beleive Starbinger's excuses, we have to accept his admission that he's a very primative synthetic lifeform with no free will. And thus should be pitied for being less advanced then the Geth even before their upgrades.
So much for them being beyond our comprehension.
"Going against our nature" isn't an example of free will, though.
But anyhoo can't be bothered with this discussion online, so I'll leave it

Erm, yes it is! That's the definition of free will, choosing what you do rather then obeying instinct!

Yeah, he doesn't even imply it anymore. He outright states
it.
I watched Destroy ending, but it seems like they didn't have changed that line at all. Shepard is still only partially synthetic, right?
Also, two small differences. Shepard actually asks for another option after Catalyst explains destroy , even though destroy is now portrayed in a much more positive light.

Are you sure? he very explicitly says that the crucible does not discriminate and that shepard will die.
Destroy is now the worst for sure, if taken literally.

Actually, as much as I wanted IT to be confirmed or denied, they did EXACTLY what Jessica said. They neither confirmed or denied the IT. In fact, I actually think that the Rejection ending makes no sense outside of IT.
It's funny, that article you linked in the previous post claims that rejection ending "conclusively kills off that IT stuff." Herp a derp. (To the writer of course, not you)
Jessica Merizan? She also claimed Shepard would be reunited with LI, ect. When EC came out and people called her on her lies, she claimed she meant you can headcanon it. Oh, we have permission to headcanon it? Thanks!

IMO if Shep was reunited with her LI after destroy ending, it would have flat-out dismissed the IT.Rifneno wrote...

Yeah, as suspected she was either lying or guessing without knowing the real answer.
No suprises there, you can't take anything she says at face value.

Did anybody noticed that they cut the dialogue that supports IT? Anderson doesn't tell you that he got into the beam after you anymore. Hackett gets confirmation of you entering the beam.
AND.
The trees are still there. Why?
Anderson still told me that.
Okay but I did not see Anderson at all knocked out lying on the floor and is in't it weird that Anderson comes out of the same place which in fact is a lie because when the door opens you can see the plat forms are mot moving.
Just a mistake on the writer's part, nothing more. Replace "followed you up" with "got here a minute before you" and it works, Anderson got through the beam before Shepard.

Are you sure? he very explicitly says that the crucible does
not discriminate and that shepard will die.
Well, before it was: Crucible will wipe out all synthetic life, including the geth, even you are partially synthetic.
Now it is: All synthetic life will be destroyed indiscriminately, even you are partially synthetic.
It is definitely more positive in other aspects. Technology would be lost, but can be easily rebuilt. Many will die, but many already died before. I actually was very surprised and confused why Shepard asks for another option after that. It was in character for my Shepard, but still unexpected as part of auto-dialogue.

1. The dreams are still the same, with the affects of indoctriation still there. (look for indoctriation in mass effect lore but not just the codex)
2. The three explosions are still there and if you look at the galaxy map and the three ending both ec and not ec its not the local cluster.
3. Sheperd waking up
answer those plot holes with the mass effect lore and the EC, not your opinion but fact

This is the thread itself: http://social.biowar...dex/12774589/14
It's a fascinating read.....but one I just cannot fathom:
At the end of the day, I never expected my forces to take out the Reapers. I was undergunned, undermanned and outclassed by a race of sentient machines that had access to technology which one can assume is the sum total of countless 50 000 year cycles of technological evolution.
Of all the endings, Control is still the most appropriate to my canon Shepard.
But to me? Refuse is the human option.
I really don't see how they made these endings so ambiguous.
