Was the Ending a Hallucination? - Indoctrination Theory Mark II!

After Anderson "dies" and Hackett radios Shepard, Shepard asks "what do you need me to do?" ...while simultaneously grunting in the background. In fact, he continues to speak in the foreground, drunkenly, while grunting in the background simultaneously as he moves towards the console.
The point here is that Shepard can either do one or the other: grunt or talk. He's only got one set of lungs. And yet.... he does both.
Go listen and see.

"And I'll die free."
That says everything there is to say in my opinion.
Also notice how Sheps voice changes
"I fight for freedom, mine and everyones."
coughing, weak voice
"I fight for the right to choose our own fate."
no coughing anymore, voice gets a little stronger
"And if I die, I die knowing that I did everything that I could to stop you."
Sheps voice gets progressively stronger, even enhanced by the changing music
"And I'll die free."
no traces of weakness or uncertainty.

I heard it my first playthrough and thought it was cool! I still don't hear english though. You can try to make it sound like whatever you want it to but it's not clear enough.
That's the sound file itself. No other sound effects loaded.
I can tell the "Us" part but the first part is gibberish.

For this reason, I believe this is against IT because he's fighting the reapers by not picking any of the options and refusing to be helped by them. He should have woken up after that.

I noticed that this morning! Did that happen before the EC? I only finished the game twice before the EC and I didn't notice that on either of those playthroughs.... but it seemed so obvious when I heard it this morning. I just assumed it was an oversight but it was sort of annoying...

You wonder why this end is completely different? BioWare doesn't want to make a statement which is true. They want discussion. Shepard waking up after that would just outright confirm IT. Instead they jump x thousand years, and the only ones you can see are pixelerated, so you can't tell if it's an Asari, Turian, or something else. But it doesn't rule out IT. Showing it either way, Shep waking up confirming IT or showing the war disproving IT, would end any discussion.EpyonX3 wrote...

Better yet, how the hell did the REST of the crew get on the Normandy if they were all at the London FOB?
How did they even get to the London FOB?
The Normandy has more than one shuttle. Anyone you didn't pick for the push took a shuttle back up to the Normandy.
It still doesn't make sense. Normandy disengaging from the fight alongside Sword against the reapers, combined with the very real possibility of the shuttle getting shot down from either Harvesters or reapers is about as sensible as... well, about as sensible as the literal teleporting of the Normandy during the run to the beam.

I can definitely hear "serve us" from Harbinger in Epyon's vid. As interesting of an idea as the Reapers are Slaves Hypothesis is, I don't think it would work, if only because I haven't come this far wanting to destroy the greatest threat the galaxy has ever know just to learn that they're actually pretty decent guys. I want to grab that Sync Laser, and shove every single round from Sword Fleet up Harbinger's proverbial... well, you know.

Yesterday, I was trying to explain to my non-gamer sister why I find the literal interpretation of the ending so abhorrent. She has almost certainly never even heard of Mass Effect, so I tried to find something analogous that might make her understand...
Imagine that at the end of the Harry Potter series, Harry confronts Voldemort who proceeds to explain that he had committed countless murders and atrocities not because he was an evil dude, but because he was trying to protect all creatures with magical abilities from destruction at the hands of the Muggles. You see, he says, Muggles will eventually come to learn about the existence of magic, and out of fear or jealousy they will kill everyone with magical talents. Nevermind that Harry had only recently learned to get along with his Muggle relatives; and nevermind that the series has consistently attempted to show the harm that is done when people use a person's magical abilities (or lack thereof) as a basis for bigotry (calling people "Mud-bloods" and such). Nevermind all that, says Voldemort. You just have to trust me that the Muggles are your mortal enemies, and my intentions have been nothing but noble this whole time!
Then, because Harry is the only wizard that has come even close to defeating him, Voldemort decides that maybe he should change his tactics, though he certainly still believes that muggles and the wizarding community can never coexist. He decides to give Harry three choices:
1) Harry can use a newly-discovered spell that will kill Voldemort and all his Death Eaters, but it will also kill everybody at Hogwarts and, quite possibly, Harry himself. Doing this will spare the rest of the wizarding community for the moment, but it will also not prevent the coming genocide of the wizards at the hands of the muggles
2) Harry can allow himself to be killed, but his spirit will merge with Voldemort's body, and Harry will become the most powerful wizard in existence. He can then use these powers to control the Death Eaters and use them in some unspecified fashion to prevent genocide.
3) Finally, Harry could use a different newly-discovered spell. This spell would alter all sentient beings so that Muggles would have some limited magical abilities, and the wizards would have their power reduced to match the Muggles. Basically, from a magical standpoint, everybody would be the same, so, in theory, there would be no need for conflict. This spell, has the unfortunate side-effect of killing the wizard who uses it, and only Harry is capable of peforming it (for some reason).
After Voldemort presents these options, Harry, one of the most strong-willed and independent boys to ever live, accepts with little disagreement that what Voldemort - the wizard who murdered his parents in cold blood - is telling him is the truth. He then picks one of the three options. Harry never sees Ron or Hermione again, and he never gets the chance to
settle down into a well-earned restful life with Ginny Weasley. The end.
I know the analogy isn't perfect, but it pretty much conveys the reasons why I hate the (literal) ending of ME3. The EC has done little to make me hate it less. Basically, the literal endings "break" the ME universe for me.
I'm reposting this for the new page because I almost never write walls of text!
Thoughts?
I thought it was an apt analogy, pretty much covered it.

Just beat the game. I feel like they copped out and did not side with either camp in this new ending.
To be fair, BioWare did exactly what they said they were going to do. They did add enough new material supporting both the literalist and the IT folks that the divide is even more pronounced now.
I agree. the endings brought people closure ok that's true. but it also provided more fuel for IT, what with harbinger saying "serve us" now and with starbinger saying SO BE IT. why else would they put that in there? ****s and giggles? maybe same reason they photoshopped tali's face, roflz wafflz.
shepard alive at the end of destroy just like pre-EC. at least EC is exactly like they said "it will neither confirm nor deny indoctrination theory". back at square one with a fresh new bucket of speculations to dig through. sigh.
