I posted this several times but nobody seems to care.

Shepard eyes become brown when you enter the citidal after the beam regardless of what it was before.

Oh, sorry, didn't notice your posts, but...REALLY? If so, then BW did put in more than just a few new hints.

but when you sit back with Anderson later it get back to w/e color you had.

I've watched this aboooout... five times now? This is exacaly what I got and I can't get over how good of an ending it is despite the plot holes beforehand and the lack of IT.
Best ending hands down.

By the way, that's what I meant last night with the new weapon echo: it's Anderson's moan now, and this time very well audible.

LOL. Do you see!? The Catalyst says "So be it." !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe it's a message from BioWare, a hint !!!!!!!!!!!!!! They are considering IT and wink to the IT community by playing with words. Plus, the Rejection option was clearly added based on fan feedback. Proof: shooting the Catalyst was viral on BSN in March.

BioWare added the Rejection option in the EC because they see the potential in IT but to not give it away completely they camouflaged it in the Catalyst's short answer. Adding the bassy voice further distracts the player from the actual meaning because you concentrate on the sudden change in his voice rather than on discovering what it might mean that he says.

The most obvious things are always the easiest to miss. "So be IT."

Plus, why would he suddenly change his voice? He gets angry because Shepard rejected the attempted indoctrination.

SO

Got an interesting message, someone pointing out that harbinger has extra lines in the low-ems destroy ending:

~2:05, sounds like "they can't help you" to me on first listen, and I swear he has a different line right before the blast too, it's got to be "join us"...

It's curious... That and shep's reaction to the squadmates getting vaporised.

Sounds like he says 'Shepard' and then 'Serve Us'.

To me at least.  Its hard to make out.

Pulling this post out of the moth balls...

D.Sharrah wrote...

"Jartar is noted for the discovery of the "Leviathan of Dis," the apparent corpse of a genetically engineered living starship. The Leviathan was found in the bottom of a crater by a batarian survey team, and estimated to be nearly a billion years old. It "disappeared" after a visit to the system by a batarian dreadnought twenty years ago.
Since then, the batarians have steadfastly denied that the Leviathan existed at all – and all the more vociferously when shown recordings of the corpse made by salarian researchers."

"...the Hegemony sent teams of scientists to study the
Leviathan of Dis. The Leviathan turned out to be an inactive Reaper and the entire batarian science team was subsequently indoctrinated."

Given the above statements (taken from the codex, planet description and game play) along with the information regarding the "Leviathan DLC" that was included in the EC, I think it is safe to assume that this is fairly significant item to explore/discuss.

First. given this statement from the Catalyst in the EC:

http://www.youtube.c...inEJIejw0w#t=0s

We know that the Catalyst was created as an AI designed to resolve conflict b/w organics and synthetics.  And with this statement:

http://www.youtube.c...nEJIejw0w#t=67s

We know that the Catalyst created the first Reaper from its creators.  Several interesting things here:

1.  The catalyst forced this "evolution" on its creators.
2.  The first example of the "created rebelling against its creators".
3.  The Reapers are created in the "image" of the Catalyst's creators.

The next few points are things that we might be able to assume but not necessarily confirm (given the information that we currently have):

1.  This forced evolution, could be the first example of "Control" - notice that this would suggest that the concept is synthetic in origin.  Make what assumptions of that you will.
2.  The first Reaper (being the first after all) may not have the same level of technological advancement as the majority of Reapers that we see in game (to this point).

And now we get into wild speculation.  I remember from the old forums that the Leviathan of Dis was a hot topic.  Many of us believed that it could be a Reaper (some theorized that it could be Sovereign - a theory that at this point I think can be officially be put to bed).  But the opposition argued that this statement from the planet description, "
...corpse of a genetically engineered living starship...", suggested that it was too "organic" to be a Reaper and therefore likely to be an easter egg.  But given the new information (being discussed here), we know that the Leviathan was in fact a Reaper.  It begs the question, why create a description that causes confusion?  Perhaps, we were supposed to question whether or not it was a Reaper...perhaps, knowing for certain that it was a Reaper would give too much away?

Given the above statements (specifically point 2 of the assumptions), I propose this new theory.  The Leviathan of Dis is the first Reaper created by the Catalyst from its creators.  And considering what we know from the information that is included in the EC about the Leviathan (being a "rogue" Reaper for those that have not seen the information), I think that this fits quite well.  The bigger question then becomes just how dis-satisfied with its creation (the Catalyst) is the Leviathan (after all it did fail in its initial task - given the "necessity" to create the Reapers; and then it forced this "solution via evolution" on them)?  And what implications this has on the ending?

Well, I am mildly surprised that no one has posted on my thread. I thought at least someone would have an opinion. What about you guys? I have been with this thread for a while and I know that you guys are very intelligent people that think things through. So here is a link. Please comment!!

Also vote on the poll. So far it has had mostly positive feedback.

Regarding the Leviathan DLC, I remember that Michael Gamble said that he has played some new single player dlc. That was before the discovery of this, so could Leviathan possibly be out soon?

According to the leak, it seems like the script is done already. So the whole Bioware team wasn't actually working on EC for the last 3 months!
Which makes sense if you think about it. No way the EC is a product of 3 months of dedication from an entire dev team.

True. I understand it's had some QA issues and such, but it's maybe a few weeks worth, perhaps 6 weeks tops.
But also, you don't hire your VA's back and then not have them record lines for the other DLCs you're planning, so those scripts are done well in advance.

Which reminds me. It seems like a waste to bring in all the VA's besides Shepards and have them say what? 1-5 lines?

Yes, it seems that BioWare isn't telling us the whole story about EC yet. There are supposed fixes in the game that have yet to all be found. The mars one by hellish is a good example. People need to look through all those files, cause they certainly left stuff in for the future, as shown by the Leviathan script. Either the person in BioWare that left it is sh**ing himself and got fired, or BioWare meant that to be there for a teaser.

Also still disappointed that almost no one has an opinion on Waking Nightmare Theory yet. And I'm sure you guys have an opinion. Don't be silent!! Good or Bad I want to hear it!! Any and all commentary is helpful in someway.

Here's a quick video response that Julian from Clever Noob Network made after playing the Extended Cut. For those of you who don't recall who he is, he made the excellent documentaries about IT that are linked on the first post of this thread.

Edit: This is not his official response. He's working on the official video and will post it in the future.

Mark my words, Bioware will not forever leave the current thematic disasters referred to as "endings" as they are. They would lose a lot of players that actually play BW games for the story. Including me.

Seconded.

I MIGHT be abe to take this reversal if they had been foreshadowing it the whole game, maybe, but simply no. You do not, you CAN NOT do a complete 180 like this in the last 5 minutes of the game and expect us to swallow it, especially since you JUST SPENT THE LAST 30 HOURS IN THIS GAME ALONE TELLING US HOW DESTROY WAS THE ONLY REASONABLE OPTION!

Remember, it's not really the character of Javik commenting on how Control is doomed to failure, or the character of Hackett saying that "Dead Reapers is how we win this" It's Bioware telling you that.

It suddenly becomes "Do as I say, not as I do."

It should be noted that the dream trees are very evident in the scene where the normandy picks up the crew and evacuates them. Also, we still don't know why Harbinger flew away do we?

EDIT: Sheploo's blue eyes are perfectly blue up at the Catalyst's. But before that...
His eyes seem to be normal again, when looking at Earth. But before that the eyes' color seems to be altered by the surrounding light. Interestingly, same happens with the color of the Corridor part on the Citadel, when those doors open up.

The color dimming might have interesting implications, as everything seems so colorless when TIM's around.

TIM sees everything in shades of grey... Posted Image

My opinion of the Reaper origins remains the same.

Buuuuut...... what if Leviathan is the second Reaper, with Harbinger being the oldest, formed of accident and upheaval as explained in my Birth of the Reapers theory?

Oh yeeeeah

I noticed on my EC playthrough that they had not only added extra trees after Shepard wakes up, they'd also moved them closer...

They've managed to leak practically every ME DLC ever. Can't be an accident.

Related to the endings.

What we are proposing now is an epilogue DLC released after the majority of the single player DLCs are as a bridge to ME4, much in the same vein as Arrival or Lair of the Shadow Broker.

I'm curious, was this dialogue cut? 'Cause if so, BW screwed up BIG TIME by removing it.
