One interesting thing is after the attack on the Citadel where you have Anderson and Hackett on the line Hackett says: "Once decoded, the schematics are designed in such a way that allows our scientists to easily translate the information. It's not Prothean specific."
It sounds to me like it was planted for the next cycle to discover, but anything else the Protheans left was "Prothean specific".

I guess you could argue that every space faring species before found the plans easy to decipher. The Crucible seems way to convenient to not be some sort of reaper plot. I cant see how else millions of cycles could have had a chance to modify and add to the same device.

Or it was purposefully made easy to decipher by the other million cycles to help the future cycles. It could go either way. I'd think past cycles would want to make it easy on future cycles if they're decoding a la prime numbers or some such thing, such as in Contact.

That could be true as well. Still, it bothers me on many levels. The
reapers seem far too thorough to let a reaper doomsday device be passed
down to the following cycle for millions, if not billions of years. And
the idea of a reaper kill switch just seems way too convenient. I'm not
suggesting that is impossible, I just think its way too convenient.

What I took from the in-game lore was that the Beacons were simply a message meant for other Protheans...Vigil says as much, although the hope was that another species would be able to find the information and understand it.  So, if they were meant for other Protheans, it makes sense that they would be in the language/format that they and only they would understand.

You're right. I forgot about that.

The beacons were made to be used by Protheans who absorb information through contact. They were not made for other species. It was pure luck or deus ex machina that any other being could absorb all that information in such an alien way contrary to what Turians and Humans would use when using their limited sensory inputs.

Yes, now I remember.

I understand that you think it's too convenient, but honestly, any underdog hero facing seemingly impossible odds who finally finds a way to stop their antagonist- the whole situation always seems too convenient but it's a staple of the classic Hero's Journey.

Does the Hero's Journey allow the antagonist to win? Because in ME3, the Reapers can win (as said in one interview). So it might make sense that there is something fishy about the Crucible.

Agreed, I see your point. But, on the other hand, we may be so suspiscious of anything Bioware does in the game at this point that we may be batting at flies that aren't there.

Probably. Someone also suggested that it might be an adult voice with the pitch changed after recording.

Hey Guys, have barely posted in this thread but I follow it intently and wierdly it seems I've spent more hours (enjoying) speculating on the game than I actually had playing it! Amazing considering how awesome it was...
Just a point in support of the rubble scene being on Earth which I haven't seen (but by no means means it hasn't been made) : People recently mentioned the sounds of battle in the ShepAlive Movie, and tried to determine what they give away about the location, but surely the fact we are getting any such sounds MUST point to London, because the Crucible is in SPACE, and in SPACE, noone can hear you scream

Everybody in the Galaxy has sound simulators implanted.

The Shepard's Breath scene most definately takes place in London because it's the first impression you get after watching it.

Well yeah, that too, just adding some minor details to the already insumountable evidence for waking up in London

Or it's Tuchanka which has the same sound and color scheme the breath scene.

I have a question to people who were active on BSN before ME3's release. Was this emoticon Posted Image available to you? Maybe someone knows the date it was introduced.

To be honest I reckon london's a lot less complex, would love to know how Shepard got all the way to Tuchunka.

I just realised there's a bunch more stuff I can do to get the sounds from that scene to be more clear... but right now my PC is in the middle of being shipped cross-country so for the next week I've got no cubase <_<

No I don't think so, sounds a touch too natural for that, and I think it'd make more sense to just have the same kid act it using a slightly different voice, or a different kid.

Also, again, need to get two people to play control/destroy endings for a given savegame file so we can have a look into the legendsave info.
And finally, can someone tell me where those clues "red herring", "london calling" etc came from?

Another interesting thing about arrival brought up in another thread (I don't know why some people make a new thread for everything), the audio logs mention weird dreams and how people are having second thoughts about stopping the reapers and, well, we know all these people got indoctrinated.

Well, we all know that BW said that Arrival would have, and I believe I'm quoting them here, "Resonant connections," to Mass Effect 3.  It would make sense that we should look there for clues as well as ME3 itself.
