I've gotten to thinking.... If the catalyst controls the reapers, what would happen if the Citadel is destroyed? I've gotten to think that if Shepard chooses Destroyed ending. He's not causing some giant EMP Wave.. but sabotaging, the citadel killing the catalyst, the brain I mean why else would you shoot a pipe? Bah maybe I am over thinking it.

Ineresting idea.

Hmm.  Has anyone tried pitch-shifting Starbinger's dialogue?  Because honestly I can't imagine a child recording those lines, and it doesn't sound quite right (even ignoring the two Shepard echos).

It would be a massive twist if he recorded the lines, and then had them altered into a boy's voice

While I find that that was clearly a child (there are good child voice actors out there) and don't know if it's technically even possible to simulate a child's voice by pitch shifting, I find your idea intriguing.
Would be quite the twist.

Wouldnt ordinary pitch shifting just make them sound like they've been huffing helium?

Probably, yeah.  It would take a huge amount of effort to alter it convincingly.

Hense why its a real stretch!

Other alternative is its a woman doing the voice, who's putting on a boy's voice.  Would explain why the Refuse Stargazer Child's voice sounds a little feminine.

Yeah lol.

It depends on the amount of pitch shifting, the algorithm and whether you maintain duration. South Park uses pitch shifting all the time. Even a semitone in either direction makes a huge change. However, it's more common to get a female to do a child's voice. It sounds more natural when pitch shifted.

I'm not sure if this is significant, but I remember reading in the Leviathan DLC text something about the Leviathan deserving the same punishment as the devil, or something along those lines. It seems that hell is somewhat of a theme here, as we are assuming the Leviathan referred to in this DLC is also the Leviathan of Dis, which basically means the beast from hell.

Edit: It sounds like something along the lines of a "fallen" Reaper. I guess Reapers are angels.

...doing the Catalyst's work...oh, please no...

The edit line was not entirely serious, but I was just pointing out the symbolism. I'm wondering who gave the LoD its name.

Because it was found on Jartar in the Dis system. Leviathan, biblical origins aside, is generally used for something of extrordinary size.

Correct. I was referring to the use of "Dis," which is a city from the Divine Comedy. I didn't realize it was a system, too.

So with the controversy regarding Harby not reacting to the Normandy...  Umm... watch this

There are 3 Reaper laser noises, the third one flips the Mako, but no beam for any of them :crying:

Yeah really. One of my biggest problems (as go for many I would guess) with the ending is the Catalyst. The way he is explained we might as well remove any blame from the Reapers...you know who we have fought for 2 and 0.99/1 games...and placing it all on him since he is in control.

Sovereign and Harbinger never made any hints towards this, they seemed perfectly in control of thier actions. And frankly that is how I want to face the Reapers. let me blow a bullet (from a very big gun) down Reapers spine one by one and know that ever time I pull the trigger I am avenging countless and countless deaths caused by their twisted minds as well as preventing countless more from happening.

Dont heap it all on a last second "main villian" with little to know build up and remove the demonity from the Reapers, just dont.

I don't know where you got that from anything I said...but okay. I'm just saying that based on the name and dialogue, this "Leviathan" sounds like a pretty bad dude.

If this is some sort of "fallen" Reaper, it would be so from the Reapers' perspective, as they seem to feel their conquest is righteous. I've seen a few stories that portray "heavenly" forces as being evil in a way by doing anything for the sake of order.

Oh dont get me wrong, the idea of a rogue Reaper is extremely fascinating to me...as long as it dosent simply tell me it broke away from catalyst control...

Yeah, but I keep thinking about something along the lines of how they created Clu for Tron Legacy, just with voices...

Ok, I'm dropping this, as it's a financially highly improbable scenario. Hiring a kid is a cheaper, me thinks.

You're right. Interesting...

Also, it might be the angle, but it looks like Harbinger teleports to the right of the screen, or isn't there at all when the "beam" hits the mako.

This. The last half hour establishes the Reapers as this group of galactic saviors who are just misunderstood by everyone (including indoctrination), and Shepard is revealed the truth.

While completely ok from a science ficiton point of view, it's very unfortunate that it's places in the last 20 min.

Luckily he legally shouldn't know about it until he's old enough.  So for all we know he could think he was really well-liked.

Or he's a jerk.  He's got that kind of spoilt brat voice.  He feeds from our rage.

Not to mention that in the EC, the beam that hits you is way off sync with the beam sound.

Hey guys. Did I miss anything?

Any cool IT stuff that was found in the EC perhaps? xD
