Well first I'll recommend that you go and do that, then I'll say that it is possible to take someone elses hypercomplicated puzzle solution and manage to make it better without even following exactly how the whole thing works. You can just find that if you shuffle a few symbols around you can make the whole thing go faster with fewer commands. I also like how the Crucible is "upgraded" during each cycle. I find it very weird how can you upgrade something that you neither understand nor know it's purpose and how it works. So what do you do to upgrade it? Put a cherry on top, add rooms for smokers??
Of course there'll be a limit to how good you can make that hypercomplicated solution before you basically have to reinvent the whole solution and come up with a better solution paradigm to get more performance.
