What do you guys think?
Edit: I heard the dream music too.
Double Edit: Holy crap guys does this scene not remind you of the beam run? The Reaper "laser" kind of tracks Shepard then knocks her back but doesn't kill her and almost puts her unconscious. With dream music playing.

Holy...
Bioware, you just crazy!

Also notice that Anderson saying "Shepard!" is the first thing heard after waking up, exactly the same as on the Citadel.  And you receive a gun from Anderson both times as well (indirectly on the Citadel - but that Carnifex was his, question being why you found it right next to you with Anderson nowhere in sight while still on Earth and walking to the conduit...).

The end of the dream music has that creepy Halo 2 end bit.

Shepard then proceeds to wake up. What other time does that music play?

What does Shepard do after that?
I know, I know. Emergency induction ports. But still.

Yeah he is.  That shadey ba...

With a warning sign right next to him. Just like the Kid during the vent scene and the escape from Earth.

Also he apparently comes with his own infrasonic noise whenever he's on screen.

Wait, what?  A warning sign?

So, we've got a lot of waiting to do in San Francisco airport. Anything new in the last 3 days?

Taking the scene with Harbinger ignoring the Normandy into account, where does the hallucination begin now? Is it safe to assume that it begins at the crash of the transport they are riding in? Or does the hallucination begin when Harbinger hits Shepard?

The hallucination could still start when the transport crashes before the run. Or when Harbinger shoots Shepard down. Or there never was one. What we saw could have involved just waking hallucinations superimposed over reality. Now that the Citadel wasn't completely busted apart, Shepard doesn't need to have been on Earth to survive.

The thing that bugs me about this is that there is clearly some sort of reaper device/tech in the background of the breath scene. We don't see anything like that in the decision chamber.

Another thing that I think should be taken into account regarding the decision chamber... when Shepard passes out just before being taken up to the decision chamber on the magic elevator he is bleeding profusely. When he stands up in front of Starbinger, he is no longer bleeding. He looks the exact same as he did before he got zapped up to the Citadel. His injuries seem to have 'reset.'

Oh my.  Indeed, and there's even a second arrow pointing at the warning sign and at Coates' direction!

Well isn't that something...

And a YT video showed that he's emitting infrasonic noise. (Indoctrination signal.)

Not at all. Mansell made the end of Leaving Earth to sound like a Reaper growl. In the slowed down version that is the Dream track, the growl is streched so much, that now creepily sounds like a never ending Reaper growl.
That initially led me to think that the dreams are very strongly coupled to the Reapers, likely even made by them.

I keep saying that Coats of all people being chosen for the synthesis ending is weird too. (It shows the green stuff that seem like nanites and zooms out of Coats' eye.)

Those two songs sound...eerily similar now that I think about it.  Almost like the dream music is a really slow and stretched out version of And End Once And For All...

Yeah, that scene is designed to make sure you see thost decals on the door of the transport. So we have Coats, who for months has been suspected of being a reaper agent. We have warning signs in the background subtly pointing at Coats. And Coats is the only one from that transport that manages to stay safe enough to call for an retreat...

edit : spelling

Has anyone actually confirmed what I said the other day about Shepard's facial experssions in the final dream before Chronos station?

Yeah the dreams are very weird. And you know what they mean from a literalist point of view? That Shepard has PTSD even though (I think wou mentioned this) (s)he clearly doesn't.

It appears that it's just a bug or something. The only consistent pattern with them is that they alternate between loads and the horrified expression doesn't show if you just skip the dialogue beforehand.

You have good ears. The dream is a slowed down version (dreams tend to be slow-mo) of "Leaving Earth". "An End Once and For All" is a variation of "Leaving Earth". Close enough that I'd say you're right.

Yeah, it zooms out on the wall, with the signs being the only thing visible for about a second...

A standard counter argument for PTSD is that if Kelly survived ME2 then you can meet her on the Citadel:
www.youtube.com/watch

This is more like PTSD. She can't go on fighting anymore.

Do you think this is similar to how Shepard feels?

And while thinking about it, keep in mind that Casey stated in one interview that they wanted the make the player feel what Shepard feels instead of have us just react to what he's feeling. So, if PTSD, shouldn't we feel it too?

Yes Shepard's resolve is rediculous. He doesn't let anyone's death affect his will to fight.

Anyone else find it interesting how Control and Destroy show a happier Coates helping clean-up, but Synthesis shows Coates directing clean-up with the Reapers in the background, almost instructing him? Really creepy, and reminds me of how Saren said that the Reapers would spare him after they returned. Why put such a sinister dude right in the forefront of this particular ending, unless he's their thrall, and has been promoted?

My ears suck :D  I can just tell the notes are the same.  Listening again, seeing if there's a connection between the first Reaper growl in both tracks "Dream" and "Leaving Earth"...

Leaving Earth growl is at 0:24

Dream growl is at 1:28

88 seconds divided by 24 is 3.666.  Can someone speed up "Dream" by about that amount, and see how similar the two tracks sound?

And playing them over each other, they use exactly the same notes.
