Honestly I think the EC was the version bioware would have released if they'd been given their extra time to get the game ready for release. There aren't major fundamental differences to how it was originally, and it's still as ambiguous as ****.

I got the same feeling. It's like they needed 3 extra months and that's what it would've been on the disc. And yes, it's still lightyears away from being unambiguous.

For me it's hard to understand why such a renown company like EA/BioWare would release a seemingly unfinished product?

Going up and down that line of thought is what eventually led me to IT.  But that question has been discussion throughout the interwebs for the last months.

+ playing such a good ending 3 months after completeing the game for the first time doesn't have the same impact as playing it right away.

Probably because of time constraints.  They knew they didn't have time, so they planned to come back and finish it off later after launch.  EA rushed the heck out of them, and its obvious from much of the rest of the game - it just wasn't ready to ship yet!

I forgot, but if EA was trying to rush them, why was the game delayed for a few months from its original Dec date?  I'm sure they worked on something during that time.

Bioware asked for six months (June release date) and were given 3 (March release date) eventually releasing the EC in June anyway :P

There are 2 actually.
1. If IT was planned, BioWare miscalculated the posibility of fans being outraged by the original inferior-quality ending. Probably they are planning something big in the future.
2. If IT wasn't planned, something went terribly wrong.

Yeah, Bioware asked for 6 months.  EA gave them 3.

If you know you can't finish something in time, you cut corners.  If you care about it enough, you make plans to fix it afterwards.

That sounds awful..

I wish Bioware would move under Bethesda! They will delay generously for any game until its good enough! Lol.

I'm playing Skyrim again btw, new DLC is big and awesome.

$$$

That's the jist of it.  EA wanted the game shipped in time for the quarterly business report.  They needed to make it seem like they were making more money then they were, and a delay from the Christmas period was bad enough.  Putting ME3 into the next fiscal year would have made them look bad in the eyes of their shareholders.

As for what they rushed, well...

Lack of a neutral diaglogue option.
Not much focus on ME2 crewmates.
Outright neglect of many of the Love Interests.
Mission Journal.

Other things I might disagree with, but I can't exactly call 'rushed'.  But I reckon the game needed another year in development.

I think I know why they used Coats Model. I've taken a look at all the other soldier and Coats is the only one that is not wearing a hat.

Whaaaaaat?!

How dare you complain about obvious flaws in the game design? You're entitled! Entitled!

/sarcasm off

I don't think ten years of development could fix the terribleness that is Mass Effect 3's ending. Just my personal opinion.

But I'm right.

They could have used any model though.  Or no model at all considering you're not supposed to see it, and it just disappears after the cutscene?

Or just no helmet scene at all. It's not like this is the only way to show that the Keepers are indeed processing the people.

In fact, I don't remember my Shep taking off his helmet so detailed as it is done by the Keeper. So, if this is no effort at all, then why do the holster weapon animations during cutscenes look so clumsy?

Indeed.  Its good to be honest and bring doubt to the concept, though.

But to toss it aside as being a necessary mechanic we need more proof.

London Calling - The ClashThe ending takes place in London, clash representing the conflict taking place.
Delve deeper into the record, notice some of the tracks:
i) London Calling
ii) Hateful
iii) Death or Glory
iv) Four Horsemen
v) I'm Not Down
vi) Revolution Rock

Now, obviously, I'm looking too far into the album, but it interests me. These tracks strike me as fitting in with the ending. Hatred from and towards the Reapers, the four horsemen of the apocalypse indicating what could happen if we fail. Death or glory, success or total annihilation. Revolution against the norm, the norm being a Reaper victory and thus ending the cycle.

Atomic Weight of Iron

Fe, Atomic Number: 26

Famous iron canyons of Aequitas...another link to indoctrination and the potential Leviathan DLC - if we are right in suggesting the DLC may take place at Aequitas. If it does not, it is still another link to indoctrination, with the device in ME2.

Or if you're mental you could look at it like this (This is just for fun, I don't actually believe this):
26 is the Atomic Number
The crystalline structure is Cubic...cubes have 6 faces...

26/6 is the day the Extended Cut was released - CONCLUSIVE (lol)

UK Secret Service
Provides the government with foreign intelligence - maybe a nudge towards Earth being supplied information from "foreign" planets, maybe but this is a reach. Though we do provide Anderson and Earth with info throughout the game?

Moving on, I suspect it's something to do with Reaper spies within London, purely because the Indoctrination Codezx entry mentions this sort of thing and it makes perfect sense. Coates being the Reaper thrall makes sense, considering he was by himself fighting Reapers for days and so his mind likely would have been weakened...could also fit with why we clearly see the warning sign next to him on the Mako similar to the signs near the kid on Vancouver.

-128.6 FahrenheitVostok Station, Antarctica - -128.6 Fahrenheit the coldest temperature recorded on Earth

Vostok System - Alko, Clomarthu, Nodacrux, Pataiton, .ALKO - Unregistered starship travel, travel not recommended
CLOMARTHU - Could be Earth's twin (size and orbit) but no life
NODACRUX - Very interesting. Abandoned facility with Thorian Creepers (Indoctrination) thus links in with the hinted Leviathan DLC - Also space cows xD
PATAITON - Meh, just a Matriarch writing Tali discovers on ship

Nodacrux interests me greatly. Especially with there being mentions to Thorians in the hinted DLC...this could prove to be a link to these clues

May also just point to Lake Vostok in Eastern Antarcitca, where scientists (Now, in the present 2012) hypothesise new life could be found in the underwater lake...maybe hinting there could be something in the lake that's been hidden for thousands of years...an Ancient species, a weapon, plans? This is purely **** thoughts and bull - I'm sure it relates to the Vostok system, specifically Nodacrux and its Thorian creepers.

Red HerringThe most interesting of all. Red Herring, also known as IGNORATIO ELENCHI...which translates to - which I find absolutely perfect - IRRELEVANT CONCLUSION, or FALLACY OF DISTRACTION.

"deliberate attempt to divert a process of enquiry by changing the subject. For example: "I think that we should make the academic requirements stricter for students. I recommend that you support this because we are in a budget crisis and we do not want our salaries affected."[/i] Here the second sentence, though used to support the first, does not address the topic of the first sentence, instead switching the focus to the quite different topic of lecturer salaries. "

Holy ****, this has got me excited.

Also sorry for my post if it appears stupid, I just went full crazy on this research stuff xD INTERESTING

Apologies, I posted this way back and was wondering if anyone had any thoughts about those cryptic barcode-y scannable things Bioware released? I did all of this digging yesterday and was wondering if:

a) Anyone found it interesting
B) The barcode-y things have already been debunked
c) I have a big tin hat? :)

Of course, scepticism is of absolute priority...which is where IT came from in the first place. Gotta stick to the roots.

But then why not a different model, with a bare head?  Can't be that hard to add into the files.  Plus then it disappears right afterwards...

And why have the helmet scene at all if its not adding to the scene?

It still screams of fishy, even if we discount Coats as being involved at all.
