While everyone's listening to the breath scene really loudly, can anyone else hear the steady breathing DJBare mentioned a couple of days ago?

No but it sure sounds like wind to me. You ever hear wind on the Citadel?

Thats totally why I missed the last shot in the sniper competition with Garrus. Damned windy Citadel.

Let me know if you ever want a rematch somewhere less windy. Those tornadoes on the Citadel are brutal

The first thing I hear is a small rumbling (likely a building settling), a chiming sound (likely Big Ben due to the proximity and it is rather intact), Wind and lastly Shepard breathing.
So the 1st and 3rd tell us from sound that Shepard is on Earth.
The chime would tell us that Shepard would have landed - if it were real - right back in London which just using that sound would be next to impossible due to the simple fact there are so many varibles.

I also think that the so called "Dark Energy" ending was an intentional leak intended as a red herring/misdirection to throw off the players so they wouldnt see the real ending coming.

Dark Energy "leak" came from the same guy on Something Awful forums who leaked tons of sh*t before the release, including the actual endings. If you think that Bioware leaked that AND the real endings before the release, good luck

The same guy who leaked a load of DLC which was quickly called fake by Bioware? Yeah, I wouldn't trust that script leak.

Would it be possible that the "wind" sound is actualy the sound of the beam? i mean it does sound like a very muffled version of the conduit beam when you "wake up" after being hit by harbinger?

Missing your shot probably made the wind worse. Those snipers have a looong range.

Are you sure you're not being confuzzled with the ringing sound which you hear in the dreams? Besides it was raining when they were running down the hill.

The leaked November scrip was real, it was accidentaly leaked in the ME3 beta demo by Microsoft via Xbox Live Dashboard update. What I was talking about was a poster on Something Awful forum who leaked tons of stuff that wasn't in the script (yet turned out true), including Dark Enertgy thing which later the media completly-incorrectly attributed as quotes from Drew Karpyshyn himself. Mind you though, that Something Awful guy was also wrong on some things (for example, he said Ash would be available for same-sex romance) so don't take everything about Dark Energy ending as real. It is obvious that he had some connections to Bioware and an access to the game at some point, he was probably a QA tester at some point, but he was never any high-ranking developer.

But Garrus loaded them with practice slugs so if we missed we wouldnt hit anything else.

Also, am I the only one who found it kind of dumb to go to the Presidium right after the Cerberus coup and start shooting off sniper rifles?

There are two objects lying around during the breath scene that resemble the spikes from Object Rho and the inner spikes of the conduit, hence Reaper architecture.

Since the two spikes which we can spot during the camera move in the breath scene, are lying in a horizontal position, I'd assume the conduit is damaged and thus maybe even deactivated.

possible, however the first thought that came to me was as if you were hearing the conduit sound, but with the same effect you had when you were knocked off your feat by the explosion on earth.

It can't be deactivated because there is faint blue/white haze from where Shepard is lying and that is the light which the beam emitts so it has to be either still on or Harbinger is trolling everyone with a fake light.

My first thought was that I hear Reaper sounds  the same as in Vancouver. Not the horns but the high-pitched ones they make while walking.

EDIT: I've rewatched the scene and I'm not sure about the Reaper sounds. It may just be twisted metal.

But then the light from the beam is missing.

Because the Reapers finally came to their senses and deactivated it.

Then the sound wouldn't be there and the reapers win the war, contradicting the message at the end of the game saying that they were defeated.

Exactly.

Once you've used the beam to lure Shepard out into the open where you can incapacitate her, you've got no more use for it.

Heres the thing though: in two of the three endings the Reapers aren't defeated. You just basically tell them to go away and then they do.

And in Synthesis, not only did you not defeat them, you accomplished their ultimate goal for them.

They didnt lose.

You didnt defeat them.

They just left.

You didnt end the Reaper threat as the message claims, because theres literally nothing stopping them from coming back in Control or Synthesis.

Also, as I always say when the stupid end message is brought up: I dont exactly trust a message that breaks the fourth wall and tells me to buy DLC.

You go right on believing the release was accidental while I continue to get frustrated by confirmation dialogues boxes that keep popping up on my windows before I can continue.

I have asked this before, can anyone show another instance where a beta was accidentally released to the public on the Xbox?

If you google 'xbox accidental leaks' the first two results are ME3 related. If not the only one it's certainly the most well known.

We also lost every troll, so there's that. Also gained me if anyone considers that a plus.

If you pick control, Shepard, to some capacity, has control of the reapers. They're goals of killing organics is overwritten by Shepard's command. No reaper threat.

In synthesis, everything is a hybrid, therefore a synthetic only race of AI isn't going to be created. Reapers have no more reason to harvest so the threat is ended.

Destroy kills them all and ends the threat.

If it was all a dream, none if it happened either way. If we can say that the reapers turned the beam off then they are stiill around to do so. Therefore, even after you wake up from the dream, there is still a threat.
