Yes because I am. I think IT is wrong and the ending is literal. You think IT is right and I don't see it.Rifneno wrote...
Thanks for the laugh. It was even better knowing you missed your own irony of complaining about other people being so dead certain of their POV while doing the same yourself.
That was the whole purpose of me posting. I usually lurk in this thread and post when I have legitamite question about the opinion of ITers.
Arguing over the validity of IT will get us no where. I will not say you're wrong unless you tell me your right to begin with. But complaining that other people don't see your viewpoint and that they are not as smart as you is childish.
Because I believe it is obvious fact, just as you believe IT is obvious fact.Rifneno wrote...
Once again, you hypocritically proclaim
your opinion as not just fact but obvious fact. Wee. Obviously you
haven't taken a look at some of the complete and obvious lies they've
told us about the game. Or you're just choosing to ignore them to suit
your POV. I'm leaning toward that.
Debating whose right is stupid. Complaining others don't see your way is stupider.

This is true. IT when it was first founded was just as believeable, and much easier to accept, than the endings we were given. Since EC and quotes directly Casey and Mac have made it pretty clear, IT is not the intent.
Honestly the official statements from Bioware are so ambivilent and vague that they aren't saying much at all really. Mostly that 'this is it, for now' and 'we want you to come up with your own ideas as to what happened'.
Which is a frustrating stance to take, but I can understand why.
Except it's totally understandable now to disregard everything they say, I still believe they're generally being honest, especially since this Mac's only statement essentially since the game was launched.

Well we don't say it's 100% correct. We don't know! We want it to be correct and we hope it is but you don't know for sure it isn't as much as I don't know for sure it is.
Many ITers declare it as fact. Many anti-ITers say it is absolutely wrong. No debating will ever change that.
Ultimately, if Bioware didn't intend IT (and I'm one of the ones who think they didn't), then we still pulled together and made one hell of an ending out of the crap we were given. That has to be a triumph of some sort.
To say you're proud of IT is one thing and it is something to be proud of. To declare it as fact is a whole other ballgame.
I don't think we can determine if IT was or wasn't intended.
From the quotes of Casy, Mac, Jessica and others that I saw I actually think that it WAS intended.
There are so many clues in-game that had to be included intentionally.
I'm not saying that the ENTIRE stuff that we come up with is true, but I truly feel that IT as an idea is what BW intended.
Though only a clear statement from BW will say, it's just like IT itself.

Though he never states what interpretation it is. Therefore confirmation bias sets in and anti-ITers will think its It, and ITers will think its a literal ending.
Heck, he could have been talking about ANYTHING. He could have been talking about the Intoxication Theory for all we know!
And yes, also note that he's not the most honest or truthful man on the planet. Or that even if he was, why would they place lots of weird goings on if they were never going to make use of them - dead end foreshadowing is a very bad thing to do in a story, and its why a lot of people were miffed when Dark Energy wasn't even hinted at the entire game.

How is this hard to understand? You're saying it's childish to belittle people for having a different opinion while you're constantly belittling people for having a different opinion about a different topic.
