I think this is too much interpretation just for interpretations sake.
It most likely is Shepards Armor, but the one getting the help could be anyone.
I see it like this:
The whole theme of the game is getting back to earth and saving it, saving humans. Arm is just the representation for all mankind.

I dont see how its a slap in the face to non-caucasian Sheps. Are the trailers featuring Default MaleShep and Default FemShep slaps in the face to non-caucasian Sheps?
Not this again, stop right there please.
Shepard is Shepard. Everything beyond that like favorite sex or skincolor people should keep to themselves.
And yeah, default Shepard being a slap in the face to others is like complaining why the character in a book is not like the one I want him to be.

Likely default Sheploo. I play exclusively FemShep. Love Meer but could not handle his VA in ME1. I only played Sheploo for Choose Wisely and made up for it with the FemShep doubletake in my sig.

Agreed, but my interpretation is Player Shepard helping Game Shepard.
The final battle leaves Shepard alone save one element. Us.

Sheploo is a reference to Mark Vanderloo, they used his face for MaleShep.

Yeah, the FemShep concept art turned out much better than its in-game translation. The in-game FemShep looked quite a bit more cartoony than all of the other ME characters.BansheeOwnage wrote...

Yeah, mine is custom as well. All 7 of them. My canon is a Redhead with freckles though. Much better than the ME3 default. I'm not sure WTH went wrong there.

Is anyone in this thread going to SDCC- we need an agent to ask Bioware about IT:
1) Was it ever intended by the developers, even as an interpretation?
2) What was with all of the clues in the game that we uncovered in this forum, were they there intentionally? Particularly the infrasound and the gun switch and the treeflections
3) Was any thought given to furthering this interpretation in the EC?
4) Was the Shepard lives ending supposed to be in London?
5) Will there be an ME4?
I doubt you will get any definitive answers on this, except for maybe 4. What would that mean for IT if BW said it was on the Citadel?
Well, I think Bioware have already gone out of their way to disprove IT, so saying that Shep was on the Citadel would not really change that, just make it more plausible for the literal version to be true. They could equally say Shep was in London and chalk his survival up to space magic. I still want to know what the f*ck they were thinking.

They should patch in a new default FemShep that actually looks like the concept art, and also give the code for making it in ME1, so I'd be able to actually use it without giving Shep plastic surgery in ME3

I'm not sure where all this "IT is dead" is coming from, because not only did EC give us more evidence, more importantly, it didn't remove any. Also, BW never said anything of the sort, they're staying neutral for now.

Can you enter codes in ME1? I have the PC version and I don't think it gives you that option. Unless it's a NG+ thing and I've missed seeing it for 5 years.

Screw MP. I played it, and enjoyed it, in the beautiful interegnum between the release of the game and the release of the EC. Then Bioware humped the bunk and I simply cannot get excited about fighting the Reapers in the leadup to that nightmare ending. Likewise for any pre-ending SP DLC that they seem to be so excited about. Why would I play that?

There is also this Reaper-talking sound before Harbi shoots his laser ("serves us/save us/follow us/come with us")
Yeah, that was a pretty huge addition in support of IT, I must say.
