LOL, this is quite possibly the funniest/most true thing I've seen all day.  Also, Byne, are you sure that's you talking, or did you somehow switch profiles with Rifneno? ;)

I think the Chantry has good intentions, but are misguided and let the zealots lead the way too often.
They are not wholly evil.

That should prove I'm not Rifneno. :D

The chantry always did remind me of the catholic church during the middle ages:P

People need to be better educated in the meaning of what a religion exactly is. But they don't, and thet's why there exist idots like that around here.

Funny thing is, its almost like they are projecting.  Though I'd never go as far to say this is actually true (since this is a game, not a religious), they are showing similar signs to anti-science fundamentalists:

1/ Denying evidence as much as possible.
2/ Focusing on one small part and ignoring everything else, as if the entire argument hinged on that one thing.
3/ Repeatedly ask a question that's already been answered, then act smug when someone gets annoyed.
4/ Claims victory if the opposing viewpoint even conceeds one point.
5/ Brands anyone who disagrees with them as zealots, and used ad-hominum attacks against them.
6/ Outright lies when it suits them.

Just goes to show you can pin anything on anyone else if you try hard enough.

Ultimately we just disagree on a point - neither side is remotely 'religious'.

Funny thing though, a few days ago I was at a rodeo in Idaho. After the show was done there was this one redneck who started insulting me because of my T-shirt, on which there stood "God is an ever receding pocket of scientific ignorance." He starts calling me a godless heathen, and that he should shoot me at the spot, and I tell him that he isn't acting as a christian according to the bible should. The he starts calling me a communist and democrat supporter, and then I said "funny thing though, christianity is pretty left wing if you  think about it", and then he says I'm wrong. I then proceeded to ask him if he even read the bible, which he of course didn't do. He then just keeps on insulting me and calling me an idiot again and again even after I explained to him why christianity is left-wing. He just continues to call me wrong and says I'm lying even though he didn't even read the bible!
In the end, I just said "screw this" and went away, and he looked at me with his stupid smug look.

Sorry that you had a bad experience with an American.

The way I see it, it's not the Reaper feeding tubes, and it's not symbolic.

The Synthesis beam, is actually the Beam.
The Control shape, is the upturned Mako on the left.
The Destroy shape, is a Reaper (Harby) on the right.

The final Catalyst scene matches up with the run to the Conduit.

I know he was just some random redneck who probably never touched a single bible his whole life.

Don't worry, I certainly don't see all americans as religious zealots. The people in San Francisco and Portland were really nice!

It's just weird for me to experience how arrogance and ignorance can run so deep in the western world... comes from the inbreeding I guess;)

But I agree with byne, wearing that shirt to a rodeo is provocative.

There's a good reason I sometimes decide not to wear some of my favourite shirts in public.  This would be why.

Though considering I live in Britain, there's no rednecks.  Luckily.  But I get some red odd looks when I'm wearing my 'Submerged In Boiling Flesh' shirt.

Actually, I just watched another video; there's a large metal structure of beams that looks just like the Control side, and it is also in view when Harby is on the right (unlike the Mako).

If you're doing the run properly (i.e don't stop...) it appears on the left just before you get beamed by Harby's love canon.

Boom!

Also, let's keep this thread on topic and alive; don't really want it locked down for descending into a religious back-and-forward <_<

My First upload to Youtube so forgive any errors, and first video to boot.

It's the TIM conversation sound originaly and then speed up 2x

www.youtube.com/watch

Well, the original sound is definitely a slowed down version of the Reaper horns we've been hearing.

if I had a better video editor I would have taken a video and speed it up 2x. Best I could do was rip the sound files out of the ME3 dlc and find it manualy.

You know, come to think of it, isn't that sound made while Shepard is grabbing his head in pain while TIM is controlling him?  I just realized that scene is kind of weird due to how Shepard is able to bend his head down and move his arm to grab it while TIM is in control.  I mean, I know that Shepard can shoot the gun that one time of his own volition, but that's just a twitch of the finger.  Anderson can't move AT ALL except for a few small movements of his head and some small twists of his torso.  It's a little weird that Shepard can lower his head AND move his arm at the same time.

mental resistance allows momentary control of his body, like when Saren kills himself? then you get that sound and the TIM/Reapers are controlling Shep again.

Yeah, I know that, I'm just saying that it seems weird that Shepard would be able to move his body at the same time that the sound plays.  If it was the Reapers reasserting control, then shouldn't he have moved and THEN had the Reaper sound play WHILE they regained control?

Saren still had control of his body in the middle of the " GURK!" sound. Then he says the Reapers are too powerful.

Not to mention, we have to remember that Shep is in the process and not fully theirs. Shep is a case we haven't seen before in the series if IT is true. We've only ever seen fully indoctrinated people and we wouldn't know what the experience would be like. We know the outward signs, but we've never seen the process from inside.

Yeah, I know.  I'm pretty sure you're right, I was just thinking about it and thought it was worth sharing.  Thanks for calling me on my BS! :D

Estebanus. I am an american and I am a cathoilc, but I haven't read the bible, but I like the feeling that God maybe real, but if he is not then okay. I can live with that. Also I'm I a bad American too.

Off topic, but I'd suggest you try reading a bit of it.  Its rather interesting.

And by interesting I mean utterly crazy, as if it was written by someone high on meth and was in the process of having their brain liquify.  Its unsuprising many people don't take it literally - and I really don't blame them.

Mind you, the joke goes that you can never stop being a Catholic - you just become a 'bad Catholic'.

Anyway.

Yeah, I know.  I'm pretty sure you're right, I was just thinking about it and thought it was worth sharing.  Thanks for calling me on my BS! :D

Well, it wasn't BS necessarily . Maybe you just got a little confused?
