I'm actually wondering: has the BSN actually really changed after the EC? It seems to me like it's the same old routine...

Well to be honest, I don't tread too much outside here on BSN, so I don't know Posted Image. Why?

I just took a look at the forums, and it pretty much seemed to me that the threads pretty much didn't change at all, so I was wondering if anyone in here has seen a radical change in behaviour since the EC.

Well my impression is the EC made people who take things at face value happy and didn't satisfy anyone else too much. So I don't know. I guess that doesn't change much. Posted Image

Okay, I've got an other idea about why the Normandy wasn't shot down.

Remember why Harbinger is there. To prevent the soldiers from coming into the citadel, right? so, let's say Harbinger actually decides to shoot down the Normandy instead. It would have to first of all get a fix on its new target, and then it could shoot. By that time, several vehicles and maybe even soldiers might have made it into the citadel. And if even one makes it inside, the reapers' entire plan could be foiled. So hat does it do?

It focuses on the immediate threat, like a rational and cold machine would do. It would see the charging soldiers as a higher threat than some random bypassing frigate.

Take for example the battle of Normandy in the 2nd world war. The americans were landing on the beaches of northern France in masses, and even more reinforcements arrived in supporting waves. But the germans did what was rational. They tried to eliminate the immediate threat before they could storm the bunkers and overwhelm the germans' position.

Does this at least make sense?

That would be logical, was it not for the fact that Harbinger is firing what looks like a total of four beams in rapid sequence bullseying both ground and flying targets much smaller than the Normandy without any visible lockon period. He wouldnt need any longer of a lockon period for the Normandy than every single other target on that hill.

And to be honest if that was the case what would Harbinger then have done if every single soldier and person aboard the Normandy had jumped out to charge with Shepard? He had no way of knowing if that was gonna happen and if it did, he would have wasted a chance to eliminate a quite a few threats with one blast.

While in strategy with limited logistics, your observation is valid. However, here it seems unlikely. Note the rate of fire of Harbinger during the rush- it's far beyond that of most other Reapers we've seen. Then note the two scenes in which Harbinger can be seen behind the Normandy- it ceases, almost to watch. Also, given the proximity of passing troops and the few visible who have passed, it only makes sense to strafe them and hit the SR2 along the way.

And yes, the Chinchillas are getting sleepy.

Perhaps Harbinger has poor eye sight and couldn't tell whether Shepard was on the ground or on the Normandy.

Well, Harbinger isn't stupid, is it? It wants to play it safe. It can make the loigcal conclusion that the Normandy, which is already operating with a sceleton crew, wouldn't send out anymore of its soldiers. The lock-on could also possibly be different between synthetic enemies and organic enemies.

You intend to just leave it here in this thread? It will get buried under thousand pages of speculation. At least post it somewhere else as well (like as a discussion in IT group).

So has anything productive been found lately?

Also, is anyone from this thread going to SDCC? We should come up with awkward questions for them to ask :D

Old info, though not readily repeated. It strongly hints at the progressive consumsion of Shepard's subconscious mind, and foreshadows the later Reaper beam K.O.... if it's really IT.
