Nah.

Hey Byne what's you opinion of Ash?

Personally I like her as a character, but I dont really like her as a LI. I mainly play FemShep though, so the LI part isnt much of an issue for me.

I like her far more than Carth Kaidan.

I always pick Ash to survive Virmire, and not just because I like her better. Thats part of it, sure, but she seems way closer to her family than Kaidan ever did. Hell, I didnt know Kaidan's family was still alive until he told me he hadnt heard from them since the Reapers attacked Earth.

I figure Ash's death would be far more devastating to her family than Kaidan's death would be to his, as they dont seem that close.

No offence but I really don't like Ashley. Good thing I can just save Kaidan he's much nicer. We could talk about her if you want though.

I liked Ashley more in ME1, but Kaidan was awesome in ME3!

BleedingUranium and I had a discussion recently about the apparent reversal of Kaidan and Ashley's importance in ME1/ME3. And about how Ashley the most annoying squadmate in history.

Hey at least Ash gived a dame about Shepard, and if Ash is Shepard's LI it's pretty romantic how Shepard act's perenord once She get's hurt. Also She had every right to be pissed of at Shepard.

How so?

Ashley: You used to work for cerberus 6 months ago and have showed that you're not their friend, but I still don't trust you!

Shepard: Ashley...

Ashley: NO. I don't trust you, no matter how much you prove yourself!

I'm not Byne but I'll answer Posted Image It's not so much that I really dislike Ashley, not even that she has a lot of negative point, it's more like she has no positive points at all. Barring looks, and only in 3, which, with so many other characters, doesn't cut it by itself.

On top of all that Kaiden is one of my favourite characters Posted Image

It's kinda wird how the characters were totally reversed, yeah. Ashley only has one real conversation on the Normandy, and that was pretty mediocre.

Kaidan has two, and his convos were pretty good.

Why do you hate her. She's not all that bad once you get to know her. Also she is not rude to aliens anymore.

I never said I hated her. But I never like her too much. In ME1 she was a religious, racist, somewhat mean person. In ME2 she is all like: Cerberus Cerberus Cerberus. In ME3 she does that again. And never has anything cool to say. But mostly it's because Kaidan is a much better bro character and reminds me of me a little.

But Kaidan's aura of lame permeates the Normandy and prevents tons of other conversations from taking place

She even goes on about it after you kill Kai Leng and blow up cronos station! Kaidan takes the Cerberus thing way better.

I never thought Kaidan was boring. Jacob is boring. Kaidan is normal. That's not the same as boring.

Personally, I think she was too mediocre in ME3. She just has nothing of value to say, which kinda pisses me off.

But the worst thing was after you finished Rannoch, and brought peace between the geth and quarians, and all she has to say is, "surprised you got those two groups together. We'll se how long the peace lasts." THAT'S IT.

She brought up god one time and she's too religious for your tastes?

Also, she's less of a racist and more of a humans-first kind of person, and even that attitude doesnt really translate to her hating aliens, she just figures that when a crisis hits, they'll look to defending themselves first and others second (which is literally what happens when the Reapers invade. The Council straight up tells you that as long as the Reapers are only slaughtering humans, they can build up their own defenses, so Ash was right all along.)

I wish there was an option to get Joker to sing over the loud speaker when Ash was drunk.

Edit: Ash also never seems to take Shep or his/her actions very seriously. She seems to be the only character not fully sold on the whole "Commander" business.

I never thought he was lame in ME3. He certainly was in ME1, but not in ME3.

I mean, come on! How can you not love the part right before chronos station where Kaidan says,"Do you feel it, Shepard. The tide's turning. Illusive man better say his prayers tonight. Murderous bastard."

LOL forgot about that since I played with Kaidan after my first playthrough. Not even "good job". Yeah they really were reversed; everyone thought Kaidan was boring but look at Ash in ME3.

I'd pay to see/hear Ashley's initial reaction to synthesis.

I was just stating some stuff about what she is. People just Identify better with common traits. It's not really that she lost points for being religious, she just didn't gain any. You know what I mean? I don't have a problem with religious people!

Well you listed religion as a negative aspect of her personality. I mean, hell, I'm the biggest atheist you'll meet, but that wasnt very nice.

She just believes in god. She doesnt go on about it all the time or anything.

Edit: Read your edit, and while you say she doesnt lose points for being religious, you did still list it along with her other negative qualities.

I always liked that there was a person who believed in god in Mass Effect. It makes the game more believable, and it goes against the sci-fi norm.

Well, I can't sleep and I blame BSN, BioWare and ME.

Did you know "plans for a Prothean weapon of mass destruction." hidden in a beacon was foreshadowed in ME1? The part in quotes is a direct quote... from Anderson.

The crucible is a long con. lol

Anyways, lets leave religion out of this.

The current discussion is about how Ashley does kinda suck, but not nearly as much as Kaidan. ;)
