Well, I think Barla Von just totally convinced me Glyph is the Shadow Broker.

How else could they keep all that information from getting crossed? But they've got the perfect setup. Every government is forced to play their game so they don't get left behind. But no matter how long you play the game, no matter how many secrets you buy, you can never win."

This is the job of an AI... it's also another example of order out of chaos and a method of controlling species progress and development.

Do you ever get the feeling that there's way more foreshadowing in ME1 than we could ever have expected? Somewhat tempted to start a fresh game and play through from the very beginning onwards. Of course it could just be a case of seeing what we want to see but it's hard to ignore a lot of dialogue outright.

There is definitely some on ME1. But probably a lot more in ME2 just because it's newer/ they knew what they were going to do.

I think most of the major contributers are offline atm and everyone else is...I don't know, waiting for SDCC?

Anyway, it's an interesting theory. I think it's a good parallel representation of what the Reapers are to galactic civilization but I don't know that I'd go so far as to say that Glyph is the Shadow Broker. Perhaps manipulating the organic that claims that title, maybe claiming to be a VI instead of an AI like EDI did, but I don't think that it controls everything. Influencing the Shadow Broker through what information is brought to the forefront of the feeds is obviously going to change things, but I still think there's someone else acting as the..."face" of the Shadow Broker, and therefore still has some control over what's broadcast to their forces and what information is sold to whom.
Of course, if this VI/AI is working for the Reapers, it would explain why, as Liara mentioned in the DLC, the SB was investigating the Protheans...

And it wouldn't be the first time Liara missed the obvious staring her in the face, which seems to be a bit of a trend. Scientists tend to do that, always missing the bigger picture because they focus too heavily on the smaller details. I'm not sure what to believe in regards to Glyph but the theory does fit nicely with what we know of the Reapers and their methods of control.

Yeah I mentioned that before you showed up. I think everyone has kind of "turned off" before SDCC.

Harby wants Shepard's body, too, though. I think it just had a terrible way of proposing.

Seriously though, there is quite a lot that points at several things in ME3, not just indoctrination. Of course, some of it was dropped (like Dark Energy) and now it's just confusing...but lines like that can't just be brushed off, especially considering some of what's said explains why only certain species were harvested in ME3 and others were not. Among other things, of course, but I'm off for the night so I'm done...talking circles and not contributing anything useful :P

Night, guys.

I just think this one is more important because they were developing ME3 while they made Arrival. And I'm gonna go to bed too so goodnight.

Oh? I didn't realize that was Arrival-specific. Harbinger sexually harasses Shepard so often, you just start tuning it out...
But yeah, we already know they were planning indoctrination at one point. This was likely part of it, and they never said they cut indoctrination out entirely, just that segment where we lose control of Shepard.

TL;DR - You're right, definitely significant, goodnight :P

An easy way to take away control of Shepard is to force us to play as another character, even for a short segment like in ME2. But I wonder if they would go that route or if maybe they found another solution for that little problem.

Never thought of taking control like joker. It would be fitting for an indoctrinated Shep (who is basically the player).

Speaking of linked games, what is the broze-ish Dragon Age symbol? Awakening? If so, why dont I have it? I have Awakening...
