Hey Rose, I've been meaning to ask you: what's with your avatar?

What do you mean?

Why is she jet black?

Because it is a black and white picture taken from a screen in Shadow broker DLC, it is done on purpose to highlight the colour of her eyes and armour.

Hmm. Watching the conduit run with Shepard dodging beams on the run down, something occurs me....

Harbinger has reach, but Shepard has flexibility.

Made me giggle far more than it should have.

...which is why it's important to always establish a safeword. An example: "destroy"

I found this on my hard drive the other day.  I must've saved it from the old ME2 motivationals thread.  It seems... apt.

Well they are supposed to Harvest advanced species, not kill them. The bombardments afterwards would most likely be due to when they are erasing any traces of that species from planets.

edit : Even if it's not from aftwards it would be logical to assume they would bombard key startegic locations first then land on the surface to engage and harvest the remaining people.

Well the orbital bombardment is the most obvious simply because its orbital bombardment. It stays after hundreds of thousands of years and he's surprised it's there? Plus it's stated multiple times in ME3 the reapers use orbital bombardment all the time!

While I really enjoyed the Mass Effect series, I concur that there are a number of problems. Actually, I never connected these orbital bombardments to the Reapers. I thought they were remains of wars between different organic/synthetic races in other cycles. As we learn in the series, there were several wars not involving the Reapers: the First Contact War, the Krogan Rebellion and the Rachni Wars are just a few examples from our cycle alone. Other Cycles would most likely had wars, too. Just think about the Protheans and what Javik tells you about their history - they were conquering(!) the galaxy, annihilating races who didn't want to join their empire. And they also had a conflict with a synthetic race, similar to the Geth/Quarian War.

Sorry, but I really don't think this is a plot hole.

Blog so far is still giving me the impression that people disliked the ending enought to dig through plot holes and inconsistencies and thereby created IT. There are issues there that I concur are problems; such as why the Catalyst seems to be the same boy who appears to be a theme throughout ME3.

However to repeat, for me IT has more negative consequences than the plot holes that it supposedly fixes.

Shrugging it off as plotholes and inconsistencies you have to consider the whole Mass Effect series and how the ending does not fit with the amount of background detail and little touches that Bioware puts into their games. Why would it only be the ending that had these problems. So many people have the automatic negative perception that, this is just Bioware dropping the ball. When everything leading up to that endings is pure gold ( in my mind at least).

The shear amount of so called plotholes at the ending is very much out of character for a Bioware game. Yet people will take it at face value and just say Bioware are horrible writers and dropped the ball at the end. It's the perception that Bioware would intentionaly throw out all the lore and previous games themes.

This is the kind of detail Bioware puts into their games
tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Fridge/MassEffect

It's a perception that can't really be easly removed from someone as it's seems to be the thing to do nowadays to the see the negative in everyone. And unfortunatly chances are your not going to see IT as being anything but wrong since your allready biased in your own perception against it, and it's something you have to keep a very open mind to consider.

ughh rant and typing cramp

While you are correct in stating that I am chalking up IT as a reflection of plot holes and inconsistencies, I do not concur with the entire post.    I am not stating that "Bioware are horrible writers and dropped the ball at the end", because I do not think Bioware are horrible writers.   I do think that there are plot holes and I do question any number of decisions about game design in the entire series.   How did you like inventory control in the first Mass Effect?   I thought the inventory system was broken.  Why can't one see the entire character information at one place in Skyrim?   Why is relevant information in ME3 multiplayer spread out in several different screens?   People are inperfect.

However given all this, if one says that these plot holes are pointing towards the intent of Bioware to imply IT, then I suggest that you are replacing plot holes and inconsistencies with one of the MOST HACKNEYED DRAMATIC PLOTs EVER!    The dream sequence that doesn't really happen or does not happen as shown.

So do any of you know where I can go to the Literalyst tread because I want to see what they are up too, and no I won't talk to them about IT. So they won"t come here and desecrate the IT tread.

Also the anti IT tread would be nice too.

Don't worry I still am an ITer 110%, but I am curios about why they actually hate, hate, hate IT.

Also see what info they have on IT about disproving IT.

Why is relevant information in ME3 multiplayer spread out in several different screens?  repeating myself but again a design limitation for the console sides.

Your welcome to your own personal opinion. I however do not share it. Again your not going to even try to understand IT and take any of it's points to heart with the attitude " MOST HACKNEYED DRAMATIC PLOT EVER". So I don't even really see a point to all of this debate when you have allready made up your mind about it long before you started reading.

ya but I ment on what they believe that disproves IT, and once i learn what makes them tick we can explort their weakness to our advantage. Also so we can counter their agurments with there own believes.

No they do, but I thought Byne or Arian provided the like to the non ITer's tread once, but I don't know where in the last  few hundred pages it could be in.

And we ALL saw how well that went.  Is it just me, or are they kind of giving us a bit of special treatment by letting our thread stay open?  That might have something to do with, oh, I don't know, the fact that we're doing EXACTLY WHAT THEY WANTED US TO DO!!!!  We're speculating, while all the literalists do is say, "Oh, BioWare made such a ****** ending, and their writers are so BAD, and they left so many plot holes, and I'd rather just say that the ending sucked than put my mind towards analyzing it and maybe thinking that they did something brilliant."  You know, the usual literalist drivel.

Thanks but i need a live one not a deaad one.

Also nobody on this thread but me is going in the non ITer thread because I don't want any of you interfering in the plan I have to prove to them that IT is still in the game. Also I am going to get the people who believe in IT to come to this grand IT thread, and also for the once, who are confuessed on what happened at the end. on the non ITers site.

I'm just keeping my IT thoughts to the IT thread. No sense in running the risk of starting a conversation that just devolves to something like that old thread. I'm happy in my little corner of the BSN.

Actually they are reaper-related. The rachni wars were started by Sovereign. The krogan rebellions were indirectly caused by the reapers, as they were caused by the rachni wars. The geth/quarian war was not started by the reapers but it was perpetuated by them. The Zha'til were taken over by the reapers in Javik's cycle. It is likely that most battles between synthetics and organics were actually caused by the reapers. How ironic...Posted Image
