Hmm. I remember one where someone has a Phaeston... I'll keep looking.

N7 Personel are Tier 1 operatives- the elite of the elite. Such personel are often given weapons and equipment otherwise uncommon in order to suit their needs. Such equipment can include foreign weapons, prototypes, banned or illegal weaponry or even jerry rigged civilian weapons.

Examples in modern day battle include U.S. Spec Ops using AK-47s to confuse the enemy or suppressed .22LR target pistols for wetwork.

Yeah. Notice her right hand? She's "not" holding a gun.

While we're talking about Samara, anyone else think she's supposed to have the Acolyte in SP? And that Centurions are supposed to have Harriers?

Yes. Engies should have eviscerators but not as badly as Centurions having Harriers. Samara having an Acolyte pistol makes sense too considering it's most likely a justicar pistol.

Medal of Honor anyone? Anyway, their top-of-the-line gear would be N7 gear. Like a Valkyrie.

Very true, but we're wondering from an out of universe perspective, why did Bioware choose to give him a Phaeston, when all six are N7, and the other two with guns have N7 guns, the Crusader and Eagle. My best explaination is because they haven't added the Valkyrie yet. What's also interesting is three of them have guns, an AR/MG, a shotgun, and a pistol, but they're not the three new gun that are the same class of weapons Posted Image

Whoa.

Anyone want to bet the Missile Launcher ability will be funtionally identical to the ML-77? They've added almost all the other heavy weapons into MP as other things so far. Sure, most don't look alike at all, but they function the same, in terms of gameplay

They probably were looking for models that they only needed to reskin, to save time/effort. It's probably why most of them don't look quite right from a design perspective.[/serious moment]

If it were me in the fight? I'd tell you exactly why I'd have a Phaeston: Battlefield pickup with a ready supply of replacement parts. The same reason why you'll see American troops working with AKs in the sandbox, even though such is prohibited for standard infantry. If you run out of ammunition or have a parts breakage, you don't have to worry about resupply.

There are lots of Phaestons floating around due to the Marauders. N7 guns are choice, just like a SOPMOD M4A1 or M416 is choice, but sometimes it's best to wear out what's available and keep your good stuff for a rainy day. And there'll be a lot of that going on, seeing that Earth is blockaded for almost the entire game.

Universal perspective also seems to fit in with such theory- Note the Take Earth Back trailer. The Alliance Marines are all equiped with Mattocks. Why? Likely two reason: a need for more stopping power and supply shortages for the M-8s. Real-life parallel? The M-14 being issued to units.

Just for reference, which weapons are these? I'm guessing the Reegar is one of them.

So...anything interesting in the last 30 or so pages?

Edit: To the above post, if I understand your question, the heavy weapons from ME2 that are in ME3 (roughly) are the Arc Pistol (Arc Projector), Flamer (Flamethrower), likely the new Rocket Launcher, etc.

Anyone else read that in the Codex-voice? Good post, good reasoning.

I just hope that if Shepard does die in the ME3 real ending, they better build status of Shepard at Eart, Tuchanka, and the Citadel, but I hope the whole galaxy builds monuments to Shepard. Also under neath Shepard will be all of Shepard's friends that have died during the battle, and the once that he/she lost through out the beggining of his/her legacy.

Arc pistol/Reegar/arc grenade = Arc projector
Vorcha Flamer = firestorm
Falcon = M-100 Grenade launcher
Cobra = Cain (weird right?)
Geth Plasma SMG = Spitfire
Krysae = VL-77 missle launcher (kind of)
Particle Rifle = Collector beam
We need a cryo grenade = avalanche

That's a female human...

Which in itself begs the question: how common are these? Human females have extreme difficulty competing with men to join Spec Ops forces due to physiology, to the degree that there has never been a female Navy SEAL, let alone a Tier 1 operator.

If there is a memorial to Shepard it should say "You can fight like a Krogan, you can run like a leopard, but you'll never be better than Commander Shepard."

She's also carrying and Eviscerator! Girl means business... even though the M-22 sucks IMHO. But I think the Claymore does too, at least when compared to ME2's version.

It's a crusader; based off the eviscerator. Which is why it was odd that the soldier doesn't have either a valkyrie or a typhoon.

Never used the Claymore in ME2. Cannot stop using it in ME3, funny how things change. Really comes down to practicality vs the awesome factor when functionality is relatively the same.
