Shep was pointing their gun at him the whole time and then lowers it when it's not needed anymore. I find the funky shadows in that scene more interesting.

Indeed, most noteably the "oily shadows" appear around TIM at one point during that scene, the very moment he admits/realizes he is Indoctrinated. I always found that curious.

I was more referring to the shadows of the characters which seem to point in random directions, at odds with the light source. After TIM dies Shep and Andersons shadows line up.

Yeah okay that too. We have Oily Shadows and Strange Shadows in the same scene.

I always imagined during the scene between Anderson and TIM, TIM would say "Shepard, I am your father, let us control the reapers and rule the galaxy as father and son/daughter." :P

"What did Hackett tell you about your father?"
"He told me enough! He told me you killed him!"

That's because in a way TIM is indeed your father. He rebuild you and provided the tech to rebuild you. Reaper tech? Who knows. I think it very well could be that TIM indeed used reaper tech to rebuild Shepard. Not to mention that Renegade Shepard in ME2 has exactly the same eyes, only red instead of blue.

No Hanar, they didn't keep true to their word. They added a new ending and changed the current ones...both things they stated they wouldn't do.

Your reason for hating IT is silly. No game released these days is released full. It's just the way it is (it's bad, yeah, but that's how it is)

EA especially. FIFA used to come with this live season thingy, where it would change stats weekly based on real life performance. in subsequent games they charge for this...it's just the way it it is

All DLC proves a game is unfinished?

Any game with post ending content surely proves the game was released unfinished?

No, if IT DLC came out it would be an expansion of the ending, bro. you're wrong.

It looks as if TIM falls along the direction of his shadow. But generally, during the whole dialog, Anderson's and TIM's shadow are approximately constant. Shepard's shadow however (if used with a flycam it's easier to see probably) appears to change a bit from time to time. This might be to represent what moral standpoint Shepard is more inclined to at a certain moment during the dialog. (Megumi has a good pic for a shadow analysis of that scene).

The circles on the red eyes are the other way up, so it's not Shep's implants showing through.

They only enhanced the current endings, not changing them fundamentally, which is eactly what they said they would do.

And the Refusal ending? I see that more a gag ending. A nod and wink towards the fanbase.

Your reason for hating IT is silly. No game released these days is released full. It's just the way it is (it's bad, yeah, but that's how it is)

BULLSH*T. Games that are released at least have all their fundamental parts complete, like a beginning, middle and end. That's as how it should be. Leaving out a certain mission or character to release it later as DLC is already borderline unacceptable, but I can still accept it. But releasing a game without the ending, only to release the ending later and charging us for it? Now THAT'S a ripoff.

EA especially. FIFA used to come with this live season thingy, where it would change stats weekly based on real life performance. in subsequent games they charge for this...it's just the way it it is

Which is nowhere near the same as to releasing an incomplete game without an actual ending.

All DLC proves a game is unfinished?

No it doesn't, only DLC that adds things to the game that already should have been there to begin with like... uhhh I don't know... the real ending?

Any game with post ending content surely proves the game was released unfinished?

No, because like you said, it's POST-ending, e.g. AFTER the ending. That means the ending itself is still in the core game, as it should be.

No, if IT DLC came out it would be an expansion of the ending, bro. you're wrong.

It would be the most retarded  and game-breaking expansion ever, that's for sure.

Plus TIM's eyes are not implants but his own, I suggest reading the Mass effect: Evolution comic if you want to see the full story how he became who he is. If you think that its TL: DR then ill give it to you simply, TIM was hit by some energy by what was thought to be a prothean artifact (now known to be reaper) while trying to pull his friend away from it, his friend was standing in front of him and was turned into a husk like creature, while TIM who only got hit by a bit of the energy got his blue patterned eyes then formed Cerberus.

Speaking of symbolism. From the codex about indoctrination: "...the victim may suffer headaches and hallucinations, have feelings of "being watched" or paranoia, or come to view the Reaper itself with
superstitious awe." It's time to praise the reapers! Hallelujah!
Praise be to the reapers! Look Shepard is taking "a leap of faith!" A true believer indeed :wizard:

I should go......

I'm not sure if smokingotter1 is joking but there are indeed some visual similarities between those pictures. If the last stage of the process to become indoctrinated is viewing the Reaper with superstitious awe then kneeling and bowing to Reaper tech and the Catalyst is quite appropriate. No one actually has come up with a better explanation for why Shepard is kneeling after being ascended to the Catalyst's chamber (he was lying unconcious just a few seconds earlier).

Uhh wha? What are you talking about? Can you show this in a picture?

Anyway, it probably isn't indoctrination either. Probably just BioWare cutting corners by simply re-using TIM's eyes and re-using those eyes to make them look like Shepard's implants are showing through (because you know, Shepard's organic parts are slowly burning away first).

Yes, Shepard was lying on the floor and now he's trying to get up. That's the long and short of it. It's not rocketscience folks, geez. This is EXACTLY what I mean when I say you guys grasping at straws.

Could be indoc, could be Bioware cutting corners, both are valid. I just wonder why they didn't use the glowing green eyes effect for synthesis, since it's an existing asset that I feel would have fit better.

EDIT: Also if it were implants showing up, why not use Shepards actual eye implants?

There are green eyes like this? They should have used that for synthesis indeed.

@Heretic_Hanar Im afraid they are not the same Hanar, They are reversed, of differant color, and pattern (the Iris is not fully coloured, the outer orbs are larger and the outer circle connecting the orbs are almost like a barcode design. Plus TIM's are not from implants, but from exposure to a reaper artifact, one in which could turn people into husks. (Mass effect: Evolution comic)

Oh you're right. Now I see it.

Oh well, it could mean anything, or it could mean absolutely nothing. Most likely the latter if you ask me.

Of course I'm joking, but I'm also trying to make a serious point... there is a megaton of symbolism in the ending, especially in the choices that I have not seen discussed here yet. It isn't just the non-sensical starchild logic or "how did Shepard survive the destory blast... blah blah blah" there is messaging in Shepard's posture, positioning, camera angles which suggest BW is borrowing from religious imagery in an effort to try to tell us something... but what could that be?

BW seems to borrow alot of Christian and Greek theology, Shepards...resurrection... lazerus, Cerberus and indoctrination or "mark of the beast" cerberus is a beast that guards the underworld in Greek theology which could be represented by the end of ME3 (Shepard walking through hall of dead....). In ME2 Shepard has 12 squadmates or "disciples"

I had a long discussion on another forum about biblical imagery in the end and one point I recall is that the devil can not force your hand. I find it a pretty good answer to anyone who asks why starbinger would even give destroy as a choice if it frees Shepard.

Unless you've got different forum settings to me or something, there's a bit of a wait before page 2000.
