So many responses, I never played the Arrival DLC so i was unaware of that. And if he was indoctrinated, then he was forced as a puppet by the Reapers to open the Citadel, and activate the crucible? If he were and indoctrinated puppet,he would side with TIM and back him up throughout the game.

No you misunderstand the Indoctrination theory I think.

Shepard is not Indoctrinated yet, he is undergoing the process towards Indoctrination.

The events on Earth is the breaking point. Essentially under the etjory everything Shepard sees after the beam is a hallucination in his mind brought on by him fighting the Indoctrination. TIM is first agressive aprt of the Indoctrination as the Reapers try to forcefully turn Shepard over and the choice is the trick part as Shepard has resisted the initial assult and now they have to trick his mind into agreeing with the Reaper philophy on their own.

Destroy represents resistance, Shepard casting aside Indoctrination and holding firm to his beliefs.

Weird!

wait I didn't know the beams originated from the area "the Arrival" dlc is? that's interesting.

It dose look like it's the same place, only in ME3 it's just turned to the left because the galaxy is spining.

What do you think about this Robotic?

Since you have not played the Arrival I thought I would bring this up.

So opinions... Will the SP DLC start with a Shepard waking up outside of the Conduit with the battle won, or will he wake up broken free from the indoctrination and proceed to go up to the Conduit and control the Reapers? There are differing opinions on how the IT is actually working. The star child scene is real, or its a dream sequence? pick one.

Some prefer waking hallucinations. Some prefer Shepard in a coma. There's an in-between: remember how in the geth concensus symbolic action within had real results in meatspace? I don't think the end of ME3 is any different.

That's what I'm personally hoping for at any rate. Probably not Space Magic but something that evens the odds.

I could accept if Shepard's choice sent feedback to Harbinger and had some influence on him. Other than that I don't see any logical means a dream can influence reality.

Waking Nightmare Theory.......

I'm inbetween waking nightmare and coma. I believe everything either post mako crash or post laz0r is a dream, but before that the effects of indoctrination were warping reality a little because of oddities on the cereberus base and Earth.

I'm also sad to lost the final scene with Anderson, but this is the only version that makes full sense to me.

I'm conflicted in that I loathe the Catalyst kid, But I love the Shepard & Anderson scene and don't want to lose that.

edit : But I'm leaning towards waking nightmare.

It will always be there, even if it was Shepard talking to Shepard... you have the ability to interpret it any way you like.

then again they could also do an even better scene now that I think about it. All of them where great. I always think I'll get through Legions until he says "Keelah se'lai" and it gets me everytime :crying:

I hate to be a buzzkill, but that's not the reason. While it's true the Milky Way is orbiting a supermassive black hole at its center, it's not doing so at that speed. The Milky Way is about 100,000 light years in diameter. Of course the objects closer to the center have a lower rotation time because they have less distance to travel. So the Viper Nebula would have among the longest rotation time in the Milky Way. Much longer than our rotation time, which is about 250,000,000 years.

In other words while the system would have moved a bit due to rotation it would be a fraction of a pixel difference. That said, it's still entirely possible to be the Viper Nebula because we don't know what angle the video is shot from. It is not, however, possible that it's the Sol system. It has to be something right on the edge and the Viper Nebula is the best guess of the relays we know of.

Which brings up another point. There's tens of thousands if not millions of relays that we don't know about. We're only given access to relays that are relevant to gameplay. It's well documented in the codex and general lore that there's thousands of known relays and we've only explored less than 1% of the galaxy. Why does the video show only a handful of relays, likely ones Shepard has personal experience with, involved in sending out the signal? All of the writers forgot their own lore? I don't think so.

Oh! so much agree. You may be twisted, but you are grounded in some sort of reality - pertaining to ME of course. :P

Guess I should clarify... I don't think anything regarding the Citadel or Crucible could possibly have happened. I do however think Shep could stumble down to the 'beam' and blow up whatever is there emiting an Indoctrination signal - and interfearing with comminucation... how did Shep call the Normandy again? And why didn't Joker just drop the squad right on top of that beam if he could get to within 200 feet of it?

Not sure if they'll do it that way at all. There may be no immediate resolution. Shep also likely blew up the power source for an indoctrination device and is; by evidence of the breath scene, in need of medical attention before they try to get back into the fight. There is also no way to know for sure if they can. Indoctrination can be delayed; potentially indefinitely, but the mind will never fully be free of it. In Shepard's weakened state, it is likely the end of their participation in the war... unless the DLC  or ME4 puts us on a path to discovering a way to reverse or prevent Indoctrination.

I'm so excited for Tomorrow and hope for an annoucment of Leviathan DLC if it's true. Could shed some light on the reapers and indoctrination.

I know right. I am wondering with a Reaper on our side could we win, if it tells us the Reapers what's the Reapers weakness. Or will it be okay if he deestroy his kind, or killing him if it ment to kill the Reapers once and for all.

It has allready been branded a reaper killer. The question is how effective of a reaper killer it is. In the long run one reaper on our side is still a marginal bonus to our war effort in regards to firepower. What would make a big difference is the intel it could provide for effectivly countering reaper tech and shields.

I know right, some of the more negative people keep saying the whole game was badly written but I've never teared up at the deaths of videogame characters before (and I got a near perfect playthrough first time).

@rifeno You're right, it could originate on any of the arms, it's just notable that arrival takes place in one of the potential positions.

Everything up to the catalyst for me was exactly what I expected from Bioware and Mass Effect. It was a stunning story that had me crying and laughing at so many points.

Unless the whole thing is in Shepard's head, Starbrat, Crucible, all of it, there has to be some sort of two-way connection between Shepard and the reapers. And if Sovereign and Sarenbot are anything to go by, that connection is exploitable to some degree.

Makes me wonder why Starbrat was in such a hurry to leave when Shepard marches for Destroy.

Yep, there are plenty of problems but so do 1 and 2. In all three cases until the ending the good greatly outweighed the bad.

I don't quite see your point. Do you agree or not? Btw, the Catalyst keeps repeating how little time has left.

Also not much time, not much time. Of course why it can't make time if it controls the reapers is beyond my comprehension.

Like in Matrix: Revolutions when Neo enters the Matrix to fight Agent Smith. The Sentinels attacking the city cease to kill and just float.
