(scene that I've seen: www.youtube.com/watch)
What could that mean?
that's weird never got that. only the sound.

I'm sorry, I try to keep up with you folks, but is there a viable explanation of the sharp sound after Shepard opens his eyes after traveling through the beam?
The most similar noise I've heard is the reaper noises from the Prothean becon vision from ME1, but it still dosen't seem right. It's intentional, and its definitely not natural. We'd all like to know.
It's funny I was going into the EC looking for signs of IT. But I still went "WTF is that!" when that happened. At first I thought it was a Defib sound almost. But playing through it again it was a weird mechanical like noise.
It's like they're just toying with us at this point.
It's funny actually, the vast majority of the clues are circumstantial, if pointed. But that noise isn't in question, it's deliberate.
Agreed that it's definately an outstanding noise. To me though, it seems like they made his entry from the beam into the citidel itself look a lot less IT-ish. Pre EC, Shep just wakes up and it looks pretty ominous, but in this one he's shown impersonating Mario jumping out of a pipe.

The sound I heard in my Extended Cut runs was THIS.
However, I've stumbled across a video that has no sound at the time of Shepard's flinch, and Anderson has a very distinct reaper voice overlay HERE.

also Shepard doesn't even make a grunt being flung into the citadel and landing hard.

Or, they were strengthening the interpretation while avoiding/weakening the "theory" aspect.
Could be, but it seems with that strategy there will be less IT support since it could very well be interpreted either way, instead of being something like "wow, totally out of place to not be a dream, so therefore IT', or something along those lines.

Yah, I've never had it overlay the dialog like that, it's always been right after the first "Shepard".

Almost like the timing is off for the effect over the voice. I hate to say it but I'd want to hear about someone else on the forums getting it before I get too excited.

Technically I didn't get it either, but saying the timing off would be ok, if they sounded similar. The sound that the majority of us got is very sharp, and takes less time to play the Anderson saying: Shepard. Not to mention the obvious reaper "ripple" voice.

Also, is Anderson's voice robotic and reaperish ALWAYS?
Edit: In that video with femshep where Anderson's voice is simultaneous with Shepard waking up, Shepard has the husk eyes. It wasn't like this for me at all. Also when I played through it Anderson said "Shepard" first (not sure if it was in a reaper-ish voice th ough) THEN Shepard started to wake up.

yeah played through it again and stil the same way. I wonder if it's certain choices you make? Also never noticed the lone cerberus trooper corpse hanging from the ceiling before to the right of when you come in.

I posted the image of those eyes from that same video a while back. The consensus was that it was a mod.
Aside from the timing being off in that video with the sound, I don't see any differences. Anderson sounds the same, the weird noise is the same.

Problem with those videos is that you never know if it's a modded save or not, so the eyes can't really be scrutinized. My Shepard's eyes were normal, as were others.

could be a hacked save to give Shepard Illusive man's eyes. Seen it done before.

Actually. I just watched one of the other videos from that person. I think it may be a mod.
Edit: That is really too bad though. Imagine if the eyes weren't modded? That would be one of the biggest pieces of evidence EVER. But there still is something up with Anderson's voice and how Shepard wakes up at the EXACT same time.

Has anyone else noticed that in all 3 (or 4) endings both pre and post EC dlc, We are NEVER shown what happens to Harbinger, Are we supposed to just assume that he was destroyed/controlled or part of the synthesis group now?, I find it hard to believe that Bioware would go out of the way to kill/defeat the antagonist of 2 games offscreen. Im not convinced he is gone till I see his robotic corpse floating somewhere within the Sol system.
Right, they introduced a soverign level antagonist at the end of ME2, built up the whole game just to introduce him even, and then forgot about him for all of the third game. Must be bad writing. Seems legit.
I don't think we are done yet, that would be bad writing of epic proportions.
In the control ending you can see Harbinger. With blue eyes now, circling around the Citadel.

Yeah, but that's part of the nature of interpretation: existing alongside a literal outlook.
That's why my interpretation has always operated under the assumption that an EC wouldn't exist, just based on the core content. But I've always had a different outlook than many in this thread, even if I've defended the idea of the full theory based on BioWare's creative DNA.

I disagree. The sound is sharp., quick. The voice overlay lasts the length of the word and has a wavey sound to it. go listen to a reaper like the one on RANNOCH.

So what have I missed?
Read the passed 2ish pages. Something new was discovered about the timings and the distortion (reaper-like distortion) in Anderson's voice SOMETIMES when saying "Shepard" when you first get thrown onto the citadel.
