It's still hard for me to take serious when it hasn't been duplicated with anyone here and it's possibly a moded save. I'd love to figure out what decisions or actions might get that reapered Anderson voice.

While there is trouble in that. I don't think anyone would go though the trouble to make a SOUND mod that would be used only once for one word in one scene. I don't think it is plausable that Anderson's voice was modded because his voice is normal afterwards. Or we can just ask the person who made the video ;).

I've reached out to him, but last time he's been on was the 7th or so. Don't know how long until I get answer

Has anyone here decided to keep the collector base? If that is the case, mind running through that scene and see if Anderson has the reaper voice?

I really would have to say that a decision made in ME2 such as the collector base one making the difference between Shepard being indoc'd and not is REALLY harsh.

The collector base decision is the only one I can really think of that might have made that big of an effect.

I've played #2 4-5 times. Never save it. I'm useless here.

That is really really weird. In some videos, Anderson speaks THEN Shepard wakes up. In that other one they happen simultaneously. That is really strange. What does it mean though?

Also, is Anderson's voice robotic and reaperish ALWAYS?

Edit: In that video with femshep where Anderson's voice is simultaneous with Shepard waking up, Shepard has the husk eyes. It wasn't like this for me at all. Also when I played through it Anderson said "Shepard" first (not sure if it was in a reaper-ish voice th ough) THEN Shepard started to wake up.

I posted the image of those eyes from that same video a while back. The consensus was that it was a mod.

Aside from the timing being off in that video with the sound, I don't see any differences. Anderson sounds the same, the weird noise is the same.

I disagree. The sound is sharp., quick. The voice overlay lasts the length of the word and has a wavey sound to it. go listen to a reaper like the one on RANNOCH.

I'm listening, but I hear nothing apart from it being overlayed with the strange sound. I don't hear any reaperish qualities at all. I have even overlayed Anderson saying Shepard and the noise and it sounds just like it does in the video.

Well thats the thing. Didn't "notice." I re-read the posts on the last page about 3 times and watched that part of the video about 10 times before I noticed it

I think it's just the fact that to to clips are playing at the same time that the distortion is being heard. I've listened to it over 20 times and I'm still not hearing any actual distortion of the line itself. Just it's interaction with the seizure noise.

Then I guess we really need to consult the person who made the video. Hope they get back to us sooner than later. That is really odd though. If it is something that seeming no one else got, then why did Bioware bother putting it in? It doesn't have enough of an effect to be worth adding. Ontop of the fact that it seems it must have came down to a few very specific decision that almost no one chose.

Another solution would be to find someone whose extracted audio files before, and ask them to extract all of Anderson's lines in the ending. That way, once we find the file(s) that only say "Shepard," we could listen to it without the competing noise. That's the only way to be truly sure, because I, for one, am not hearing any distortion when mentally isolated from the seizure noise.

Edit: Grammer fix.

Hmmm, I took the mechanical noise and lowered it both in pitch and speed to test something out. It sounds a bit like the noise accompanying the jolt when the vehicle stops suddenly a few minutes before. That bit bugs me as well. The crash is so severe that there's flames coming from the vehicle, but everyone is fine and we don't even see what caused the crash?

Anyway, between the crash noise and the sound from the Prothean beacon, they are the only two close matches, and neither are 100%.

That won't work. Filters are applied to voices on the fly. You can hear this in some areas through the game. Like when talking to Cortez on the citadel. When the scene changes to the outside view, the echo in his voice from bing in the docking bay hall disappears.

It does this in the hospital when siding with the Salarian or Human too.. stand close to the wall and the echo changes.

Then I guess we'd search the scene for filters and when they're applied, perhaps?

Something really strange I just found looking into the sound I was just talking about...
http://www.youtube.c...rMMTa830#t=617s Doesn't even make the sound. Furthermore, it seems to give Andersen's voice a reaper overlay.
(scene that I've seen: www.youtube.com/watch)
What could that mean?

WTF?? Just watched both and both were absolutely different. Could be the gender difference but that makes no sense. The releases and sounds between the releases of the beam were different. And then in the FemShep there was what sounded like harbinger or reaper anderson. In ManShep it was anderson then defib sound. Wierd...

I just reviewed the videos that were linked. The one with the FemShep; the audio is out of sync. The first tone signaling that Shep enters the 'Citadel' is supposed to be accompanies by the flash, the second tone follows when Shep hits the ground. You'll see this correctly in the Sheploo video. It would seem that the audio track and video were separated, audio cut up and then reapplied to have Anderson's 'Shepard?' overlap the defibrillator sound.

I call fake.

My FemShep capture is identical to the Sheploo. The audio on that FemShep vid is either out of sync or someone hacked it to mess with people. All it is is Anderson's voice overlaping the defib sound.

Looking at it now, I see that the sounds are fake. But makes an interesting effect however... :P

Okay okay. I was a little hasty in posting. Someone just messed with the timing. BUT THE POSSIBILITIES IF IT WAS LEGIT!!! :pinched:

Yeah, that's when things get out of hand. I'll stick to lore backed thematic evidence. Evidence permeated all through the series that you would not believe.

eh..............................

Side note: like the fact that it's the 22nd century and using the term "ladies" is still a deragatory term in the military context. Progress!

It looks really cheesy and reminds me of static shock for some reason. I'll pass too.
