I probably will eventually, but I hven't since the weekend after three's release.

To sum up metacritic, if it's a good score for your favourite game, it's peachy, if it's a bad score then it must be a bunch of trolls?

Mass effect got a thrashing because to a lot of people it initially deserved it, when I finished my very first play through I rated it no higher than 6/10, the game itself was good until the end, first and last impressions are incredibly important

I agree with Sean Connery. People aren't "trolling" with metacritic, they're just pissed. And they have good reason to be. If you aren't an IT follower, and let's face it it's doubtful many non-forum goers are, then the ending is the worst thing since cancer. Even if you are an IT'er, well lots of us are getting sick of waiting.

I didn't connect all the dots on my first playthrough, I thought something was up, was kind of confirmed when I saw the breath scene, then it cut to that stupid stargazer scene and the final two words of the game being "Downloadable Content".

I just sat back in awe of how they'd managed to so completely ruin the game in the final minutes of gameplay


Anyway, has anything interesting come up in the past 16 hours or so or are we all just waiting for the results of the SDCC panel now? Where's estebanus?

Overall user ratings are contaminated with troll.

People go on giving zeros, hating a developer or a franchise because their console shooter is better. Flaming online services like Origin (it was the same for steam when it started) or DRM. There are people who post on Half Life 2 with zeors because episode three or the third game is not out yet. And we don't have to start with Origin here, but the game should get it's rating without the "Origin Factor" which equals zero it seems.

People on amazon give 1 star, stating they haven't even bought the game because of Origin and battlelog (and battlelog works just fine), and the "feedback" of those professional naggers goes into the rating too. You don't own and test a product, you don't give it a score.

Don't get me wrong, I am disappointed with ME3's ending to a certain extend, feeling like a 7. But 0/10?. Please.
User ratings are only usefull when you take the time to look for those with genuine experiences and opinions.
What are people thinking throwing around these zeros? For a 0 or 1 rating, a game should be unplayable. A bad sex joke programmed in 5 minutes, finished in 2 and priced at 60 bucks.

People need to pull their stick out of their asses.

For me some gameplay mechanics (yes, subquest handling/journal, I'm talking to you) were cumbersome. + bugs in the scanning mechanism. Overall, I liked the game and the ending (yes, I said it). With the EC out and bugs patched it's so much more win. Besides the story the second best thing was the new combat mechanics (awesome!).

Without the EC/patches: 7/10 (had to get used to different gameplay than ME2)
With: 9/10 (assuming IT is there somewhere (ME4 FTW))

I actually suprised myself when I made a rating system for games and then put ME3 through it. It almost got a 7/10, and my gut feeling would have been a 6/10. In the end, the music and voice acting was too damn good to rate it lower.

Oh, and I might risk some Gold MP today. Probably public, due to how Origin hates me doing private games. Though I think I need to level up my Krogan Sentinel 2 more levels first.

Krogan sentinel is great for bronze and silver but you might want to consider a less melee-oriented character for the parade of banshees known as Reaper gold.

Only other decent character I have is my Salarian Engineer.  Which destroys Geth no problem, but has issues with Reapers.
