Q: What's the motivation with the teaser survival of Shepard in one ending?
Sylvia said "We were looking at all the endings, and we were wondering if they were TOO bleak. For fans who scraped every last thing off the galaxy map, we wanted to give them a little beacon of hope."
"It was really hard to let go of Shepard for us too, so it was kinda just for us too."
Ley said "We did make it ambiguous on purpose..."
Hepler: "It could just be a last gasp before death, yeah."
Interesting.

That doesnt even make any sense. The rachni already have a homeworld...
How doesn't it make sense? Krogans got it in their head to wipe out the rachni again because every idiot krogan thinks it's krogan's birthright to do so, and the rachni kicked their sterile asses.
Bump because people don't seem to get the "it was a war" thing and this post got buried on past page.
I dont know, I'd figure that after wiping out the entire krogan race, the rest of the galaxy would leave Tuchnaka empty as a memorial, like how the geth did on Rannoch, not give it to the rachni.
Plus, I dont think even Wreav is stupid enough to wage war with the rachni once he realizes the cure didnt work, which he would have realized fairly soon.
I don't know about that. If you ask me that almost seems exactly like something Wreav might do. He's a traditionalist afterall. Krogan were throwing their lives away fighting pointless battles for centuries after the first genophage.

Well.....now I'm confused.
"We were looking at all the endings, and we were wondering if they were TOO bleak. For fans who scraped every last thing off the galaxy map, we wanted to give them a little beacon of hope."
Then
"We did make it ambiguous on purpose..."
and quick step back
"It could just be a last gasp before death, yeah."

It sounds like this Q/A might be even MORE pointless then the one at PAX, and that's saying something.

These answers are the same things I thought of back when I finished ME3 the first time.
Remove the hints we found in both of these threads, and those answers would line up with: mediocre game.

It couldn't be a breath before death. It was more of a "I was just revived" gasp. It was a strong inhale. Not a weak "I'm dying" draw.

Ley said "We did make it ambiguous on purpose..."
Hepler: "It could just be a last gasp before death, yeah."
In other words, they're not going to actually tell us what the breath scene is about
Sylvia said "We were looking at all the endings,
and we were wondering if they were TOO bleak. For fans who scraped
every last thing off the galaxy map, we wanted to give them a little
beacon of hope.
I dont recall BioWare ever saying they thought the endings were bleak at all. They certainly seemed surprised when we all thought they were, and the literal interpretation of all the endings, supposedly expanded on by the EC, doesnt seem like BioWare was going for bleak at all.

Yeah, its frustrating. They are saying things we already know.
And they never explain HOW the breath scene even works. HOW is Shepard alive at all? WHY is he/she on what appears to be London? WHY does your crew somehow know he/she is alive when they aren't even in the same solar system, crashed on some unknown planet?

Suspense? To me that comment pretty much burried the IT even further into the ground.
Hepler: "It could just be a last gasp before death, yeah."
Doesn't seem related to the IT and in fact it's quite the opposite of what you ITers believe.
