Isn't the model for the control rods labelled 'bad'?

Interesting choice of words

I've just had a thought.

How's this for a bet:
We know that there's a new game challenge that involves rescuing a target from a reaper-controlled area, right?

-Before we have an expansion on the breath scene, there'll be a weekend challenge that requires us to complete a certain number of these rescues. The upshot is we'll win, and Shepard will be "rescued" from the rubble ;)

But it was already labeled that way pre-EC.

After all there are millions of Shepards to be rescued.

That throws up the question: why did someone at BioWare label Control (or at least that rod) as bad?
Mere opinion couldn't it be, right?

I'll be faithful to IT and say that choosing Control is succumbing to Reaper Indoctrination. Posted Image

Well...with the EC, the soundtrack of Control is also very Saren-y, isn't it? It's nowhere said to be a bad ending (just like keeping the Collector's base wasn't), but it's all in the details.

Yes, the music is very sinister.

The Control option is also labeled as "BecomeAReaper". Well, I thought we'd become the Catalyst? :P

Note destroy is the only one were the narration calls it a victory.

I just felt like writing up a list of
all the oddities with the ending. It's not meant to preach or analyze,
and wont go over stuff like circular logic and thematically
innapropriate, just the stuff that makes the everything post
Harbinger-deathray seem like a dream, whether through intoxication,
indoctrination, cheese before bed, an opium bender, whatever.

-Piles of 2D bodies (present before laz0r, so bad riting lolz)

You might want to add here, that they seem to resemble Ashley and Kaidan.
And the 2 bodies on the ramp on the way to the control panel, there's one body to the left and right each, white-pink and blue, like Ashley and Kaidan's armor.

I mentioned the phoenix armour on the citadel ones. I think them representing Kaidan and Ash is pretty subjective.

To add:
I don't remember if we came to any sensible conclusion about why that asset might be titled that way...but I think this is also the only one to be called that way. Might be of course a hint towards our little extra-curricular project.

I also think that this particular asset got its name rather earlier in the development, so it might've been designed as the bad choice...but then, so has to be Synthesis, but it has no own assets unfortunately. But the music of Synthesis doesn't seem to be designed as a bad choice.

If they expected us to 'get' that Control is bad pre-EC (i.e. without a appropriate soundtracj), then they must've expected us to be insightful enough to also get that Synthesis is approx. equally bad. But they insist otherwise...

*sigh*...

Weird "coincidence" then nontheless.
If I am not mistaken, I didn't see both armors in the game.

The song for picking Destory sounds similar to the Memorial wall scenes song. the other 2 songs don't match it as well.

If the endings turn out to be taken literally, I'll change my choice from Destroy to Control, because I don't want the geth and EDI to be dead.
Control because nothing changes, just that I am in control now!

But no way Synthesis. This utopia isn't compelling to me.

Final complete destruction of the reapers so they may never threaten anyone again isn't a victory?

Utopias sound nice in theory but in reality they usually become nightmares.

No. Because you are wasting the chance to eat a cookie and have a cookie with Control.

I'd rather have to repair a few synthetics than live in a police state.

Not really the place for this discussion, but destroy is unabiguously good. Control is a gamble at best.

If the geth consensus is still existant, then yes. If not, they're not the geth anymore.

Just to clarify, were we given any sort of timeframe for Leviathan at SDCC?
