So, one thing I found odd when watching the Refusal ending:

Liara says the Crucible didnt work. She doesnt say that we refused to use it. Hackett also says the Crucible isnt working right before you pass out on the Magic Elevator and get taken to the decision chamber.

You'd think that since Shep's radio was clearly still working at the end, since Hackett contacted her right before she passed out, that she would have filled the rest of fleet in on what had gone down, and therefor Liara would have known what Shepard decided.

Kind of seems to imply Shep never made it to the decision chamber at all.

You could say that Liara just pre-recorded that message as a fallback in case the Crucible didnt work, but then it'd be kind of odd to still include the plans for it.

Here, we wasted all our resources building this pile of junk, and it didnt work. Please waste yours too.

Plus, the refusal stargazer seems to imply that they built the Crucible anyways, and used it before ever being threatened by the Reapers, and therefor have peace, yet the Reapers all would have been in dark space, since the current cycle wouldnt have begun, and the Crucible wouldnt have even affected them.

Thank you. I haave been trying to say this for a long time. Also Mike Gamble said  the next cycle used the Crucible. It's on his twitter. I just don't know where it is.

Here's how it went down.

Shepard walks back from the citadel after refusing the catalyst.
Garrus walks up to him and asks him "what happened up there, man?!"
Shepard is all like "uhh...nothin:whistle:..."

"but what does it mean?":wizard:

seriously, I don't know what it all means.

It was me deciding I needed to do something constructive xD

great job, theres alot in there i didnt even know about, the connection between the UK IS and Coates is really interesting. is it rumored that Leviathan is on Aquetias?

Cheers, I made it whilst watching the Euro 2012 final xD

Well, it's an informed guess considering the mission marker thingy on Aequitas and the Reaper tech we found there in ME2...plus the iron thing. It could well be!

Honestly Refusal is so vague its not clear what the hell happened at all.  Only that the next cycle somehow wins without a terrible war, no details given.

Which makes me think the Liara VI is a Red Herring in of itself, and Shepard's cycle actually did win - sacrificing and winning the war so future cycles never have to.

Using the Crucible with the Reapers out of range in dark space would mean that not only did they not win, but that they'd lose extremely easily, given that would mean that the Citadel and all the Relays are extremely damaged, and their Crucible is blown up.

They'd have to rebuild the Citadel, the Relays, and construct an entirely new Crucible, all before the Reapers arrived, which, unless they somehow missed the pretty lightshow from dark space, would be pretty soon, since they'd likely realize something was going on, and come to put a stop to it.

Great point. I think what this says to me is we haven't really met the catalyst yet. The starchild claims to be the catalyst but I just don't believe him, and if he is a lot of stuff does not make sense. I think it's telling that the first time we see the starchild in game it's an illusion: we see an alliance cruiser when in reality it's just him playing with a toy, a warning that what we are seeing is not what we are getting.

I think you're right, in game we never see Shepard get to the decision chamber, we are missing crucial details in the ending and we don't have the catalyst yet IMO.

also in the refusal ending you'd think the reapers would gain control of the catayst and its blueprints so that it's never used again. I mean this cycle got close, why would the reapers ever let another cycle get that close is beyond me.

Using the Crucible was really a one time thing. If it failed, you'd think the Reapers would take no chances and assume that somehow, at least one copy of the blueprints survived, and would therefor alter the Citadel so it couldnt dock with the Crucible and be used as a power source, or whatever the hell the Crucible used the Citadel for.

Especially considering how they thought the idea had disappeared.

Only, you know, it was already in the previous Cycle.

Man, apperently Reapers just have terrible memories

The most unpleasant experience playing MP was when I was standing infront of a Ravager and shot its sack.

The swarmers THEY BURN!!!

My space bar is for toggling the HUD, but it get's used only to map powers and maybe the odd time I need to micro-manage a squadie; which is almost never in ME3. I have the right control set to action and all primary powers mapped to my mouse (5 button). I  actually have things set up identical across all three games so they play as identical as possible. Custom mapping Logitech mice to get around ME1 limitations FTW.

lol Edit: I despise Ravengers. Anyone who thinks Banshees are a problem must have horseshoes up there... Ravengers kill me, not much else does. I feel like a M-44 hammerhead in their presence. Paper machete.

I don't have much trouble with Ravagers...

But then I do play a Krogan Sentinel. So maybe I have enough protection to not be bothered by them too much.

People actually play krogan sentinels? I played one for about 5 minutes before deciding it was useless.

Hellz yeah.  I mostly melee stuff in Silver too.

Gold, less so.  Mostly hide at the back and lob Lift Grenades.
