I have a few problems with this, but only a few.

It's stated that the Thessia Beacon was intentionally hidden by the Asari, we have no idea where it originally was buried.

But they did discover it by way of Prothean survivors who led them like Gods...

Also, you are forgetting Victory, in the flashbacks, had a fairly positive outlook too; "They will be remembered in the coming empire." Things to that effect.

Also, you notice each VI has a name, starting with V indicative of their purpose. Vigil was meant to keep watch, Victory was meant to secure their final victory through Prothean Survivors forming a new empire.

What is Vendetta's purpose? Why would it be stored in a beacon in the first place?

HOW would it be stored in the beacon in a way that could be stolen?

Interesting, thanks for bringing it up...though I feel a bit stupid for having forgotten Victory now ^_^

Ok, this has to be the first time in the history of me checking out the IT thread, that overnight you guys only produces 5 new pages. Earth DLC must be consuming everyone

It's not consuming me, but due to timezones I was asleep the whole quiet period.

Just read Raistlin's thing about the VI's and it seems Vendetta was either foreshadowing the forthcoming massive retcons, or has been fiddled with in some way to tell you what the reapers want you to think.

I agree with it, but then again I posted something very similar to it about 500 pages ago... and again, not too long ago I mentioned oddeties Regarding it's communications. It behaved like an AI, not a VI. It knows too much, can instantly be understood by every squad mate despite them not having a cypher like Shepard - and Vendetta was not 'on' to 'monitor' communications like Vigil was on Ilos; which is how it learned to communicate.

The comments on the 'cycle' were also almost identical to Liara's diatribe in ME1 with the exception of the 'inferred' master of the cycle, as Vendetta put it.

Funny how the Protheans knew so much for being insta-splintered when the Reapers flooded through the citadel.

Actually, that's a bloody good point.  In ME1 they beat you over the head that Shepard could make out a garbled message from a computer on Ilos while the squadmates couldn't, and that Prothean VI's can quickly translate other languages but only if they are monitoring communications.

Vendetta could be understood instantly, and had been turned off.

And Kai Leng (spit) was there almost on cue just before it spilled the beans about what was going on.  As if he was waiting.

Now that's interesting.
So you guys think that Vendetta might got manipulated by the Illusive Man?
I always wondered why Illusive Man would've said "Enjoy your little chat...".

More like by the reapers. If the prothean crucible was being built on Thessia as is hinted at then the reapers would be likely to pay special attention to the planet and not, say, fail to notice the giant beacon filled with a wealth of knowledge about fighting the reapers. This is assuming the crucible really is a reaper killing thing of course.

Wall of text time.

SO, the harbinger "Serve Us" lines?
There's two versions:
http://www.sendspace.com/file/3hrgqf

Sounds much clearer on its own.

Also, has anyone had these yet?
Posted Image

I assume the N7 one will be coming shortly since we've unlocked them.

Also, for interest, I thought some of you might like these posts off HTL:

OK, here we go. I
thought long and hard, and it's better to do it per-subject, not
per-ending. Sorry in advance.
Format is simple:
Non-spoiler description of picture and/or conditions to get, picture
inside spoiler tags. File names correspond to video file names for the
most part.
Earth and the ReapersControl, Reapers on Earth - I assume you get this under any conditions at all. Two slides in one video.

Spoiler

Destroy, Citadel unrecoverable - I assume this is for mid/low EMS. Two slides in one video.
Spoiler

Destroy, Citadel rebuilt - I assume this is for high EMS. Two slides in one video.
Spoiler

Synthesis - "City of the Future" - this is part of the DNA video, but it IS a slide.
Spoiler

RannochControl
- Geth join the Reapers - you get this if the Geth are alive. No idea
whether you get it with Geth/Quarian peace, I will be playing that save
to the end today.
Spoiler

Destroy/Control
- Quarian City - you get this if the Quarians are alive. No idea
whether you get it in Control with Quarian peace. See above. Two
versions of this exist, one shows "more" population by having people
walk in front of the camera, but it's a VERY non-informative screenshot.
Spoiler

Destroy - Wasteland - if you killed the Quarians to save the Geth, but picked Destroy.
Spoiler

Synthesis - Geth join the Reapers - same as the Control one, but with green glow instead of blue.
Spoiler

Synthesis - Quarian/Geth Coexistance - rather obvious. YES, THERE IS NO GETHLESS SLIDE FOR SYNTHESIS.
Spoiler

TuchankaControl and Destroy identical here, for obvious reasons. Some of these have "names" based off file labels.
Destroy - Cured Genophage, Eve is dead
Spoiler
Synthesis version.
Spoiler

Destroy - Cured Genophage, Eve is alive (yes, it's a palette swap of the above)
Spoiler
Synthesis version.
Spoiler

Destroy - "Barren" - Kept Genophage, Eve is alive, Wrex is dead (because you killed him on the Citadel, you evil, evil man!)
Spoiler

Destroy - "Wasteland" - Wreav is alive, Eve is irrelevant, Genophage NOT cured.
Spoiler

Destroy - Cured Genophage, haven't seen this slide in-game, so cannot comment on other conditions.
Spoiler

Destroy - Kept Genophage, Rachni are alive (only Rachni slide in the game!)
Spoiler

Destroy - "Rebuilding" - Cured Genophage, Wrex is alive
Spoiler
Synthesis version.
Spoiler

Destroy
- Kept Genophage, Eve is dead, Wrex is dead (because you killed him,
yada yada), Rachni are dead, this is Dickasaurus Shepard at his finest.
Spoiler

Destroy
- "War Debate" - Cured Genophage, Eve is alive, Wreav is alive (viable
phrase, as he is eaten by Kalross if Wrex is clan leader). Two slides.
Spoiler

Destroy
- Wreav comes back home. Genophage and Eve irrelevant. (so it's "High
EMS Destroy or Control" only, as the relays don't get fixed in low EMS
endings). Two slides.
Spoiler
Synthesis version.
Spoiler

Destroy - "War Rally" - Wreav is alive, Eve is dead, Genophage cured. Two slides. Krogan Rebellions FTW!
Spoiler

Destroy
- Wrex and Grunt come back home (so they're both alive). Genophage
cured, Eve irrelevant. Also High EMS, like the Wreav one. Two slides.
Spoiler

Destroy - Wrex comes home (Grunt is dead). Same as above otherwise.
Spoiler
Synthesis version. Yes, there is no Synthesis version of the Wrex-and-Grunt one.
Spoiler

Synthesis - Future Cities (don't rightly know if Genophage matters, but certainly Wrex is alive)
Spoiler

Squadmate and NPC fatesJackDestroy/Control - Made her turn students to frontline soldiers

Spoiler
Synthesis version
Spoiler

Destroy/Control - Made her turn students into backup artillery
Spoiler
Synthesis version
Spoiler

Destroy - She was romanced, you got breathing scene
Spoiler

MirandaControl - "Base"
Spoiler

Destroy - "Vanguard"
Spoiler
Synthesis version
Spoiler

Destroy - She was romanced, you got breathing scene
Spoiler

MordinDestroy/Control - "Studies" - only requires he survived to the end of the game.
Spoiler

JacobControl - "London"
Spoiler
Synthesis version
Spoiler

Destroy - "Teacher"
Spoiler

Don't ask me WHAT this implies about him and Reapers. Just don't.
KasumiDestroy/Control - "Sitting", greybox status irrelevant?
Spoiler

Synthesis - requires greybox intact
Spoiler

Spoiler
Synthesis version
Spoiler

Destroy - low EMS

As I mentioned in my write up.

Vendetta is an oddball as he as said is very negative when compared to Victory (as Arian pointed out) and Vigil. Furthermore Vendetta speaks in facts, but provide very little reasoning as to why it is fact. Vigil on the other hand was careful to point out that what it said regarding the Reapers was only theory

Yes but they wanted people to play it, and they knew that people may not buy it, so they could have done it reguardless of Object Rio.

No because diolog still says shep went there. and otherwise shep has no reason to go to earth and be in teh brig.

Seconded. I don't get it. Is this to show us the filenames? Where did that poster get the filenames from?

And regarding the extra packs: almost forgot about them. Why should we get "N7" packs and what would they contain? Ultra Platinum rare weapons -- whatever those are? If so, then some people will have everything on max pretty soon!

There's just something sinister behind the synthesis ending. Am I supposed to believe that everyone in the entire known galaxy gets their DNA forcibly combined with synthetics, and continue on with their lives as if nothing is dramatically different about them? The most drastic evolutionary change in galactic history, and there is almost zero change in what various characters do when compared to destroy or control.

My point is its just too good to be true. I find it impossible to believe one blast of energy can affect an entire galaxy like that in a matter of hours. I find it even more impossible to believe that the characters have seemingly accepted these sudden changes without batting an eyelash.

If literally seen, Shepard lost his helmet before entering the conduit to the Citadel. So, nothing supporting or opposing yet.

Symbolism?

You mean working for the terrorist organization Cerberus is not good reason enough to go in the bucket?

“No because diolog still says shep went there.” Which dialog? My first ME3 walkthrough was with a Shep that didn't play any dlc, and I don't remember such a dialog at all.

http://masseffect.wi...Marine_Division

Admiral Hackett dispatched marines to the planet Aratoht to rescue a deep cover agent, Dr. Amanda Kenson.
The teams were killed in an explosion that wiped out both the colony
and the system's relay. The Alliance spent weeks piecing together
scattered radio transmissions, learning that the marines felt they had
no choice but to send an asteroid into the relay to prevent invasion by
the Reapers. While it bought the Alliance some time, the men and women
lost on the mission were a severe blow to the 103rd Marine Corps.

Pretty sure it's an Alliance marine helmet, not Shepard's breather helmet. It's missing the N7 logo on the side and has the Alliance "A" on the forehead.
