Comrade Gando, don't be disheartened. What it said wasn't important. That it was or wasn't something illegible isn't important.

It's that Harbinger 'said' anything at all is what's important.

*sits down in a rocking chair in the corner of the room*

So, while my ability to connect with friends in MP is up, my "EA Server" disconnects are also up. At this point I am becoming extraordinarily disenchanted with ME3. The chinchillas are likewise angry. When the chinchillas are angry, very very bad things happen.

well it seems bioware is dead set on just not giving a crap and saying "make up your own ending". well **** it then, if they don't care anymore then why should I.

Considering his demotion from ME2, we're still in the black.

What on Earth made them think that whine-bot Kai Leng was somehow worth giving air time, while Harbinger got shelved? <_<

In completely other news I'm taking a gander at that Dragon Age movie they just released. Opening narration... isn't good.

This doesn't bode well for the Mass Effect movie. Not that the trailer suggested otherwise.

In other, other news, Auralius, you a fan of Tangerine Dream by any chance?

Yep, the Shadow is freaking awesome. Also have Fury and Slayer.

I'd really like to unlock the Demolisher..

Demolisher is by far my favorite so far. I love just finding a corner to lay down a pylon and hurl grenades at enemies.

Its especially awesome on Geth/FirebaseWhite/Gold.

Don't lose faith. That means nothing. It counts that Harbinger "spoke" at all. If it was English, alien-ish or Reaper-ish doesn't matter.
As Simon said. That he communicated at >all< to >us< does matter.

bad news

CHRIS PRIESTLY SAID

Harbringer doesn't actually say anything at that point. I know, I
thought it did as well, but I asked teh Audio team and they told me it
is just sound effects, not actually speech.

well wtf why would they use that sound effect it obviously sounds like speech. so stupid.

IT doesn't hinge on Harbinger actually saying something. Regardless it defintely sounds like something was said.

If Bioware didn't give the ending deserving of the series we knew and loved for five years, we can step in and do it for them.

Whether Bioware accepts it or not, IT is the most elegant and logically/thematically coherent interpretation of ME3 that I'm aware of. And it was created, analyzed, and tested by us. Even if it isn't Bioware's achievement, it's surely ours.

They're not saying "make up your own ending." they're saying "You figure it out, we're not going to tell you what to think or presume" they are doing what they always said they would do. They are being non-proscriptive

"The team went to great lengths to put meaning and layers of metaphor
into the game. There's a lot of cool symbolism if you take the time to
look for it. Definitely intentional and we want players to decide what
those meanings are for themselves. These games are all about player
agency so we feel that it would be wrong to provide a "canon" path or
one "true" narrative. Ultimately, the work has to stand on its own and
players decide what they think is happening
."
- J.M.

Reworded via "Political Bullcrap and Half-Truth Assessment Device":

Assuming that J.M. is telling the truth, (always a caveat)- As it stands, the IT is still valid and much of the evidence it draws upon was intentionally inserted into the game. However, for the mean time, players will need to continue to openly interpret and gauge the information. In the end, the narrative must play out for the audience to secure an answer to speculation.

I'm not a "fan" but it's okay. The 80's, IMHO, were better times with some serious flare for music.

my favorite part is when they said that the reason why the catalyst has shepard's voice is because it draws upon his memories or something like that... THEY GOING TO EXPLAIN THAT IN GAME!???! instead of on a foreign website!? wtf is wrong with these people. I don't want to be mad at them but they're making me mad right now.

One of the other things from the coats video that bothered me; did they add a bunch of keeper animation just so it could throw Shepards's helmet across the hallway? Animation that players can't see of a battered helmet that is shown prominently in the endings representing Shepard.

Oh! Did I mention that Arian was the first person I ever saw getting fist-smash executed by an Atlas while lying unconscious on the ground?

What a sight indeed.

When it comes to that, it could simply be a decision regarding camera panning. I.E. The original take was to follow the helmet, then it was decided against. The camera operation was changed, but not the animation.

Arian, I know they won't be prescriptive, but surely if they release an IT DLC they kind of are being prescriptive then?

Don't get me wrong I want an IT DLC more than I want real life friends!

You all need to keep one thing in mind when BioWare or BW reps talk about anything concerning ME3 being left open for player interpretations. It cannot work if there are to be any games set in the Mass Effect universe that take place after the events of ME3 without said games automatically revealing the true state of the galaxy.

Only one ending can and will be canon. Period. It's either that, or it truly is over and BW just threw away a billion dollar IP.

I don't think so.

And don't give me any prequel crap. 30 years is finite where as the future is fresh with infinite possibilities... and no retroactive 'better guns with thermal clips and better biotics' in 2160 than we had in 2183-85, garbage.

that would be so garbage if they never gave a definitive ending to this. It's single handedly the BIGGEST letdown I've ever experience in a video game. It's been 4 and a half months, and I still taste **** in my mouth.

They can kiss my tail if that's what they're thinking. I simply won't care by the time of ME4. If ME3 had the definitive awesome factor of ME1 or 2, I'd say okay- but it doesn't.

It has the PEWP factor.
