Paxxton, I think it unlikely they will go back on the "end of Shepard's story" thing - I know they don't always follow through with what they say but this is too big a thing.

But ending on a high note is always favorable to crash landing in a pile of Krogan poo.

Yes, Chris. Why would we assume that End03_Shepard_Alive_Male & End03_Shepard_Alive_Fem meant Shepard's alive? Why indeed.

It'd be awesome if they'd stop insulting our intelligence.

Indeed.  Without even paying lipservice to address why even a dying Shepard is shown.

I don't care if Shepard lives or dies in that scene - EXPLAIN WHY ITS THERE!

Maybe. But it wouldn't be the first time a developer changes its plans. So let's hope.

If Shepard dies in all three endings, your LI not putting your name on the memorial wall in destroy somehow makes even less sense than it did before.

+ Shepard would be vaporized on the exploding Citadel.

I know.  Just saying that for the princible of what they said - I don't care if they are implying its a 'death rattle', I want them to explain how its even possible.

Them being coy and spreading misinformation annoys me.

You can hope, I'm way more happy with a DLC :P

I'd of course accept an IT ME4 with open legs, I mean arms, but then I'd get the feeling ME4 would just be ME3...well what it would have been if we'd beaten the Reapers without the indoctrination :P

What about the grandfather telling that kid (happends to be the same kid as the catalyst btw) "its getting late,but, ok,one... more... story"? Sheps story is not finished!

True, though it might point at DLC? Who knows? Darn Bioware with their speculating xD

The new trilogy will tell a story about how Shepard finished the war. Posted Image

It'd be a huge middle finger to fans if the "little beacon of hope" that is the breathe scene was actually Shepard's dying breathe. They seem hell bent on not giving a straight answer to anything, which IMO is a good thing. For now.

It's obvious that they wanted players to speculate and end up with something like IT. The alternative simply doesn't allow for any speculation. There is nothing to speculate if one does not believe there is a deeper meaning behind what they are seeing.

Yknow, listening to the voice of the kid in the refusal stargazer scene, he seems to be the same kid as in the regular stargazer scene, which... well, considering the previous cycle got wiped out, shouldnt really be possible.

Even if the explosions were not in Shepard's actual sector, it would take considerably fast acting mass effect fields or emergency barriers to stop the rapid increase in pressure caused remotely as the air is sucked out of local apartments and burnt.

If that event is survived, then one must consider the potential trauma from the blast waves, as well as heat. Even remote detonations are capable of killing in these fashions so long as the energy has a medium to flow through.

Then there is the issue of loss of energy source: the base of the Citadel Tower- where Shepard was- appeared to be encapsulated by a kinetic barrier. If that fails, Shepard will be pulled appart by space. If the Tower detaches from the Citadel during the explosions, he's in a bad mess as well.

Surviving that event, based on the size and force of the explosions seems highly unlikely. That station was built out of the same material as the Relays, and save for a high energy precision strike, such material could withstand emense pressures and impacts.

Why would they? Shepard's story arc is over, no matter how you take the ending. From a game mechanics perspective, theres only so far you can extend a level cap. They can only excuse resetting your hero to level one, well, once.

That's a completely different thing from abandoning a well developed IP, and I don't see how they could do a post ending game in the ME universe with the current literal endings, and prequels are limited by allready knowing what's going to happen, and not being able to introduce anything that might change that "future".

Unless Shepard was not on the Citadel! *Dramatic music* "DON DON DOOOOOON!"

Seriously though, I think Mac and Casey are keeping everyone including staff in the dark. The way Chris and Jessica talk about the ending it seems like they don't know either. We haven't even got the first DLC released yet (EC doesn't count). Let's not push the red button .... yet:P

Exactly, which is why DLC seems, to me, the only logical thing

Which is the same voice as the Vent Kid.

To me, that screams "It ain't over. The Reaper's aren't really dead!" Just like in certain horror movies, when the survivors finally think they can relax because the serial killer is dead, the screen pans to a telltale sign that the protagonists never finished the job.

I think we all know how those cheesy slasher flicks work, too.

Rule #1 about why most conspiracy theories aren't likely true: people talk. The more people that, by necessity, must know, the greater the likelihood of the beans being spilled. Therefore, the fewer people that are required to know, the better the innate possibility, sans external factoral consideration.

P.S.: Stimpy appears to be the chief technicial behind the Crucible. We're screwed one way or another.

We do have German speakers here in IT.

I am only fluent in American English, Southern English and Politicese, (often refered to as BULL&%$*).

Exactly. BW is doing the same thing the writers of Star Trek the Next Generation did with the Borg reveal. They didn't just reveal the borg in one episode, there were hints and allusions to a greater threat creating a sense of dread when the final reveal happened. BW is doing the same thing, the MP is part of the story line, throughout ME3 experienced players got a similar feeling of dread that something was not right, building up what I believe will be an Awakening DLC that takes place on the Citadel with a mission to activate the crucible using the real catalyst.

Or think of it as Cerberus which is organized into cells. Each cell doesn't know what the other is doing and can't see the big picture of how it all goes together. Same thing might be going in at Bioware, you have writers and staff working on various aspects of the story, some wrote Tuchunka, some wrote specific dialogue for characters, but in the end only Casey Hudson and Mac Walters knows how it will all come together in the end. There is a reason why they alone wrote the ending to ME3, and I think it was the right choice (preparing for stones to be thrown at me).

The ending to ME3 is a masterpiece if my patent pending Smokingotter Time/Overlay theory is correct. Or... maybe I'm wrong and am a complete moron.:wizard:

Rule#2 Three men can keep a secret if two of them are dead. Hopefully they haven't been whacking writers ...
