Blaster I'm not sure what you mean. Happening? No. Could happen? I don't think so either.

Remember, the point of IT is that the reapers are trying to indoctrinate Shepard, not their crew. More likely that the crew would have to turn on Shepard than Shepard on their crew. Would match how ME3 set up Javik to be something like an alternate universe Shepard. Similar role in the cycle, opposite beliefs, opinions, motivations, etc.

Also, related link, enjoy.

Simon you don't think what happened to Javiks squad/crew is happening to Shepard's right now in ME3. Also when Javik toughed the shard. He said " I had a crew like this one once, and a ship too, loyal ." And it makes me wonder about the if you fail in the Arrival dlc. When you see your squad under neath a Reaper. Could that be happening, if that's what happened to Javik's old crew?

No. Just no. That would be way too painful, and there is absolutely no way I'm killing Garrus (or letting him kill himself either) Maybe one squadmate, not one of the LIs, but definitely not the entire squad.

Yep, if you fail Arrival it is heavily implied that your crew becomes indoctrinated. Shepard is useful, but with his crew he's unstoppable, another reason the reapers never shot down the Normandy. Once they have Shepard they can get the rest. An indoctrinated Shepard commanding a Normandy crew could do a lot of damage,

In all honesty, as long as it isn't Garrus, I can deal with it. Maybe I'm overreacting here, but the thought of killing him... :crying:

Bioware would never force a player to kill Garrus, or Tali for that matter. Pretty much the squadmates that are with you through all 3 games. They are more likely to kill themselves so that the player doesnt have to do it.

Killing Garrus would hurt, but if I had to choose between him and Liara, he'd be dead instantly.

But that's only if you (somehow) fail Arrival.

Also, nice catch.

I believe that look is also in synthesis. Shep is not exactly looking up because of the skydive position but the look is there (I think).

Edit: I'm going to go now though. G'night guys (and girls).

Oh crap what if instead of killing the geth, and EDI. The catalyst says " your crew will die once the crucible fires because of in order to maintain the order of the cycle. Without the Reapers. You must sacrife everything that you care about if you want to kill the Reapers. Even you will die if you since you have to shot the tube. The radius of the blast will insinerate you."

I don't why I said that but I just felt like it. Alsodid anyone notice that maybe when the catalyst says " do you think you can do this" also means that the catalyst is in Shepard's head because it's showing Shepard some of the future. Like arrival if you fail visions of thw future., or the Prothean beacans.

Starchild: "Shepard... noooooo!"

Rule #1 about why most conspiracy theories aren't likely true: people talk. The more people that, by necessity, must know, the greater the likelihood of the beans being spilled. Therefore, the fewer people that are required to know, the better the innate possibility, sans external factoral consideration.

P.S.: Stimpy appears to be the chief technicial behind the Crucible. We're screwed one way or another.

Exactly. BW is doing the same thing the writers of Star Trek the Next Generation did with the Borg reveal. They didn't just reveal the borg in one episode, there were hints and allusions to a greater threat creating a sense of dread when the final reveal happened. BW is doing the same thing, the MP is part of the story line, throughout ME3 experienced players got a similar feeling of dread that something was not right, building up what I believe will be an Awakening DLC that takes place on the Citadel with a mission to activate the crucible using the real catalyst.

Or think of it as Cerberus which is organized into cells. Each cell doesn't know what the other is doing and can't see the big picture of how it all goes together. Same thing might be going in at Bioware, you have writers and staff working on various aspects of the story, some wrote Tuchunka, some wrote specific dialogue for characters, but in the end only Casey Hudson and Mac Walters knows how it will all come together in the end. There is a reason why they alone wrote the ending to ME3, and I think it was the right choice (preparing for stones to be thrown at me).

The ending to ME3 is a masterpiece if my patent pending Smokingotter Time/Overlay theory is correct. Or... maybe I'm wrong and am a complete moron.:wizard:

Want a better comparison?

When they were making The Empire Strikes back, exactly 6 people knew Vader was Luke's father. George Lucas, Irvin Kerschner, James Earl Jones, the lead sound tech who put it on the tape, and Mark Hammill, who was told 5 minutes before they started filming.

Even David Prowse, who played the physical body of Vader was completely in the dark until the reveal.

It's not much of a stretch to assume that the writers, Gamble, Dr.Musyka, the sound techs, the art department and the community managers are in on the know and just under NDAs.

And for the record, I agree with the overlay, I do NOT agree that the choice is whether or not to evade a beam. What would be the point of killing Shepard if he falls for indoctrination? They would have more reason to kill him if he DIDN'T.

You have to let the timer go on forever, but do watch the easter egg clip, you again see the halo (this time in red) and visions of the future and some other weird stuff.

What I meant was any LI (for me Garrus) being indoctrinated and having to die. Yes, I know it's not very likely, to say the least. I was responding to masster blaster's post about the entire crew being indoctrinated.

Let's hope Shepard's awakening has less eldritch abominations than Dragon Age's awakening.

*snip*

And of course the Architect, who's just a sapient darkspawn that did no wrong and totally isn't one of the original Tevinter Magisters who breached the Golden City and released the darkspawn taint in the first place or anything.  You can trust him and stuff.

That was actually the first assumption that I had going in, that he was one of the Tevinters, but, well, he didn't seem evil enough. Misguided? Perhaps, Evil, with a capital E? Not really. His intentions struck me as being in a good place.

Maybe I was just willing to accept the idea of Darkspawn being a bit more friendly for the fact that they were basically unintelligent animals born of the nature of corruption (and the corruption of nature) bound to the will of a twisted and insane god, and this guy just wanted to give them the same kind of choice that humanity has.

Yep, I fell for it.
