Hey paxx, heads up, I posted on the UNIT thread. Also, on a completely different topic, I just came to the conclusion that, if it wasn't for that pesky omni-shield, Shepard probably would have beaten the Shadow Broker in hand to hand combat. Yeah.

Thank you so much! The UNIT thread seemed abandoned by everyone until today!

I figured I might as well post SOMETHING there.  I didn't actually say that I supported it, but I did say that it was an interesting hypothesis.  And it WOULD make the mission on Horizon serve as a VERY important plot point beyond just being the place where Cerberus is established as pure evil, and being the place where you find TIM's location.  Note, I'm not saying that Shepard could have been EXPOSED to nanites there, but that it would establish a method for a different form of indoctrination.  Wait, I just had a thought.  Maybe the Conduit beam (And by extension, the Synthesis beam.) infects anyone who uses it with nanites.  It would both accelerate the prosess of breaking down the humans once they got to the Citadel, and it could be a nifty way for Shepard to become indoctrinated/get turned into a Paul Grayson style monster.

And this would make sense seeing as how, in my opinion, choosing Synthesis is far worse than choosing Control in terms of the mentality behind it.

Any why everyone is at peace with the Reapers. Which I think that's what Bioware ment. The endings aer real, but which one is the real/best one to you the fans.

Oh and did you all notice, that the place, where you see VI Liara looks like Edin Prime. I don't have anything to support what I am say, but I look around the Mission where you go get Javik, and I saw beacon like structures that we saw at the end of the Refuse/Reject ending.

Edit look at Eden Prime and the Prothean beacons.youtube.com/watch

Edit:Look at Refuse ending. the planet it's on looks like Eden Prime, and that Beacon looks like Prothean made, not Liara made.www.youtube.com/watch

Also I find it funny that the Crucible turns off, when nothing blow up on the Crucible, and it's funny that we see red beam of light across Shepards face, when A Reaper blows up ( which looks to me Hacketts ship) a dreadnought. Me thinks that is Harbinger missing on purpose and letting Shepard die of his/her wounds, and turns off the Conduit.

hence why we see the Crucibles light turn off.

Guys and Glyph is there at the Refusel end, but is playing the message Liara left for the next cycle. So does this mean, that Glyph rewrote Liaras message and is giving the next cycle falls hope, if our theory is correct about Glyph working for the Reapers.

GUYS i dimd down the brightness of the Catalyst when you pick Control, and I could see it smile, if you dime the Computer screen down to 30 or 40 brightness.

www.youtube.com/watch

Okay look around stop right at 39 seconds and dim the screen's brightness, and look at where the lips are at. They are smiling.

Also guys if you all haven't notice hackett never said there was a fall back plain what so ever. And why would Joker listen to the squad members about leaving Shepard. They would have tried to go to were Shepard was at since Joker is looking right out the window. In which case where you can see Shepard is at.

Thoughts anyone?

I have to think about it cause as far as I remember the only place the inhaleable nanides were used was on the Citadel. Traditionally, nanides are used in Dragon's Teeth but if the Reapers possess such technology they might as well use it to indoctrinate large-scale populations. I don't see though how the beam could spread nanides though. As for the Sanctuary, I agree that this place is more than where you get to know the ugly face of Cerberus. If this was merely the only purpose why put the logs on nanides and the research in there?

Anyway, I posted an answer in the UNIT thread.

Plus, I should go. Posted Image

Avatars have to be limited to 146x146 pixels, unfortunately. And the otter is a crop and resize from Otter's own source.

Yes, but still they look blurred in comparison to the BSN ones.

I don't mind, my vision is usually blurry along with my speech sometimes (opens a can of beer). Don't know why for the life of me.

I took his "just trolling" comment to either refer to the rebar falling and Shepard dying, or he had just realized what he said, or both.

I can't imagine they'd be hiding this at this point. They've explained away some of the plot holes in the ending, they explained the dreams and the shadows of people and they admit that the original plan was to leave the ending open to interpretation. They also state that there's no canon ending. IT would be a canon ending.

For the endings to be open to interpretation, they have to be taken literally first. Otherwise, you'd have to wonder if the whole series was a dream.

No. They didn't. I saw no "Plotholes" explained in there, they explained that there is something to the dreams, symbolic meaning and that the shadows HAVE symbolic meaning, what their meaning is, but they did not ever explain why they were there. Show me where they "admit" the end was supposed to be open ended? From what I have been seeing, it's "Open to interpretation" big difference.

I disagree totally and completely with that assessment.

Besides, one way or another, even when a story is meant to be open to interpretation, an author has SOME interpretation in mind, you cannot write anything to be open ended, because even YOU have an interpretation as the author.

a) EA won't let the ME franchise die. ME3 was a success financially, it's going to have sequels or prequels of some sort. It's only a matter of time.

B) Most fans associate Commander Shepard with the ME series. Imagine the confusion and backlash if EA were to release a core Mass Effect game without Shepard as a protagonist.

c) I don't see how they can move forward with Synthesis. Moving forward with Control will be incredibly tricky, and most likely end with betrayal. Moving forward with Destroy is the easiest and has the most potential.

a) Agreed

B) Not necessarily. See Halo: Reach

c) Totally agree

I agree with everything except B. Look at Dragon Age. 3 protagonists in as many games. So long as squadmates show up, perhaps even Shepard himself,  and you have enough continuity between them, you can have another protagonist

And Epyon, there is another option beyond making Destroy canon...

Ok, analysis that I can't share through pictures. If you listen (with headphones) to the the high pitch sounds Reaper artifact Object Rho makes at Arrival it is eerily similar to the high pitched sounds you hear when Shepard jumps into the synthesis beam.

Object Rho:

Shepard jumping into the synthesis beam:

The creepy thing is at 1:20 with the synthesis beam this scared the crap out of me (had headphones on) but you hear a very audible "thud" sound. Shepard falling to the ground? He hasn't hit the ground yet, he's still floating in the synthesis beam?

Edit: You also hear the creepy Object Rho sound with "control"

Maybe, are you talking about the "thud" because it sounds like the exact sound it would record if you put a microphone on your person and fell to the ground.

How do I take a screenshot in ME2 and then put it up here?

Or, before I do that, would people actually be interested in learning where some of the odd pictures that were in London appeared previously?
