A few pages ago I was interested to read (sorry I can't remember the poster's name, I think it might have been Dwailing) a post theorising that Destroy represents the option to jolt Shepard completely out of the illusion, but Reject just leaves him hanging, and Control and Synthesis leaves him/her indoctrinated, but open to being temporarily jolted out of it with an intervention from the crew or L.I.
-snip-
I'm also really intrigued by the idea that the crucible is a reaper trap, and all three original options are designed by the reapers, hence the Catalyst's annoyance if all three are rejected. Synthesis is their ultimate goal, but they're also happy with Control - as they know they can eventually corrupt the Shepard construct and turn it to their point of view.
-snip-
Good ideas, especially incorporating the Baldur's gate dream upgrade.
However, why did the Reapers move the Citadel? My answer is that they thought the Alliance Crucible was a threat, probably.
The tricking Shepard idea has potential, but I think the Catalyst is actually the Citadel. After all, as a comparison, the Shadow Broker is almost never seen but exists. For the Reapers, the most sensible plan of action would include the concealment of the core leadership.
Would this be paid DLC or free? I have a poll going if anyone is interested:
http://social.biowar...48/polls/37129/
Thanks for reading my post. It was a bit of a mountain of text to climb.
Many folks on the IT thread think the Citadel my have been moved to Earth to lure the whole fleet to a well defended Reaper position, so they could crush the Alliance in one fell swoop. Also Harbinger had a morbid obsession with Shepard in ME2 - "Your mind will be mine Shepard!" and knows how important Earth is to him/her. Perhaps Harbinger wants to lure him/her in to install as the central controlling mind of a new Reaper?
Regarding payment, I'd be willing to cough up if it was good value for money and added a significant amount of new gameplay - Lair of the Shadowbroker level. It's a bit crummy that it wasn't in the game to start with, but this would be a lot of work to produce, and I don't expect Bioware to work for free. As long as it's fairly priced I'll be happy with it. I've voted in your poll btw.

And they say children are cute. Not this one.
I agree completely. I always get crap for not finding small, misshappen people to be adorable. My neices keep having kids and they always come and show me the kid and expect me to oogle over it. I keep telling them: I have a penis, I don't care about other people's kids, go away. Never listen. <sigh>
So anyway, do you guys think control and synthesis are equally bad or one is worse than the other? I used to be in the "synthesis is worse" camp, but after seeing the similarities between the control option and the most potent indoctrination device known to exist... well...

In terms of indoc I think control may be completely broken while synthesis is more a Saren/TIM style indoctrination. In terms of face value I find synthesis so much worse. At least in control something is stopping the reapers killing everyone, even if that something may be losing its grip on reality. In synthesis the reapers hearts grow three times in size and they decide not to kill us after all.Rifneno wrote...

Bad in terms of their effect on Shepard's sanity, or bad in terms of unbelievable space magic?
If the former, Control is worse, as it gives Shepard a taste of absolute power and we all know what that does.
If the latter, Synthesis is worse, as there's just not enough vomit in the world to do justice to that ridiculous load of techno-hippy nonsense (assuming it's supposed to be actually happening in the "real" ME universe of course).

If I activate charge right as I die I glitch out I jump all over the place fall threw the floor fly up into the sky that kind of thing. Only happens on any of my vanguards.

No I know what you mean. I mean, they never fix MP bugs. It's been 4 months and the goddamn SMG ultralight weight materials still don't work.

Then what the point of this slide? Is it should represent all soldiers were lost in this war? Why it shows at "sacrifice" section where you can see everyone you lost? I don't remember anyone close to me with this helmet.
And why it shows in every ending (well, except for reject)? Even in low ems destroy it shows without others sacrifice-slides. There soldier (who, incidentally, must be dead because of the crucible energy) gets this helmet from the wreckage.
Oh and did you noticed that Richard L. Jenkins disappeared for memorial wall at the end? He was the first loss we have experienced in the game.
