So the kegger is going on (and I find out the person I like is an ME fan but is dating so whatever) *hic*
I've been reflecting. Think of all we have been through and how much Mass Effect means to us. I won't lie, I came to mass effect very very late (2011). I don't have as much experience as most of you. I have not slayed as much trolls as you have, I am still a young otter. That said...we've been through doubts, we've been teased by trolls, they tell us its bad writing, the majority of the ME universe proves them wrong.
We are part of possibly one of the biggest twists in video game history. Bioshock set a high bar, Mass Effect is aiming higher. Mass Effect has some of the smartest best educated fans, you've proven it. Using movies, other games, literature you've set a high bar for fandom.
If you ever start to doubt yourself. Remember the ME2 suicide mission. Is this a the story that ends with weird metaphysics, or one where we kick reaper butt? It ain't over, not even close. So yes, the story, the writing make Mass Effect awesome, but it's also the fanbase, specifically ITers, yes you (pointing at you) make it awesome. My point is Casey Hudson, Mac, and fellow ITers... I haven't even begun speculating.

I'm looking at the endings again on YouTube.
In Control, I now only really noticed that it looks like a reaper. There are 'tentacles' flanking the walkway to the handles, which itself would correlate with where the reapers' thanix weapon is located.
Basically, it looks like Shepard is embracing death (which happens to be the actual case).
And Destroy. Other than the tubes feeding the protoreaper, there was something else familiar with it.
I remembered what: it looks sorta like a dreadnought cannon.
Shepard must really, really love guns.

You know, guys. I really believe in IT (I have from the very first time I played the ending), but I really don't think Bioware is ever going to come out and show us what really happened.
I believe IT was purposely included, but it was always their artistic vision to forever leave it ambiguous. The idea being that they want people to think for themselves and not having to spoon-feed them what it all means. Which is in line with the whole concept of indoctrination. The indoctrinated person will always have this nagging feeling that something is off, but he's never sure. And they accomplished exactly that.
As much as I would like to believe in post-ending DLC revealing it all, I just really, really, really don't think it's going to happen.
When I first heard about the EC, I already believed in the idea of IT, but my first thought was 'They're going to explain the Joker-fleeing-plothole, but leave the rest ambiguous', and guess what... that is exactly what they did.
I don't mean to say I've given up hope, it's just that I never really believed they would actually go so far as to reveal IT. Sure, a reveal would be mind-blowing, but their statement that they were not going to be prescriptive about the endings convinced me that they never will. The latest panel only reinforced that this is still how they feel about it.
EC didn't change how I feel about the endings. It didn't ruin IT at all, and it even added some interesting subtle clues IMO, but I'll say it again: they'll never reveal it.

I hate linking images, something always goes wrong.
That would be ubber neat, but I'm not sure how the gameplay would work. It's could either be a vehicle mission (hopefully not) or some sort of Space scuba suit.

Why would we need that?
A combat hardsuit is suitable for vaccum, why not underwater?

as far as we know, only the helmet was able to survive re-entry through a thin atmosphere. the planet well visit in the new DLC may have a very high pressure, we just dont know. water pressure on Earth alone can crush our most high tech submersibles, it would take a very high tech and specialized suit to survive that, again, just on Earth, who knows what the stats will be for whatever this planet will beArian Dynas wrote...

If the suit is designed to survive a lack of atmosphere, and can take RE-ENTRY
I think it can take an atmosphere or two of pressure. It's not much of a stretch.

Because designing a structure for vacuum is completely different from designing a structure for intense pressure environments. Instead of keeping the internal environment in, you got to keep the external environment out. Completely different problem. If you sent a man in a spacesuit down to the bottom of the ocean the best the spacesuit will do is maybe, maybe, keep the guy's liquefied remains inside the suit itself. Assuming the helmet doesn't cave in on itself and so let everything leak out.Arian Dynas wrote...

There was a reason only certain suits and mods for suits in ME1 allowed you to survive high-pressure hazards.
Also, an atmosphere or two? That's only like 10 meters under water on Earth. If you want to even go just a few hundreds meters down, prepare for several dozens of atmospheres.
Thanks for the discovery. This could be huge.magnetite wrote...
I ran that indoctrination sound through an audio spectrum analyzer, and it does confirm the presence of "infrasonic noise". Sounds like buzzing during the conversation with the Illusive Man, followed by the screen turning kind of red. According to the codex, infrasonic noise is a subliminal signal that the Reapers use to indoctrinate people. Anything below +20 db cannot be heard by the normal human ear. According to this program, the sound goes as low as -120 db or so.
