Hey it's been a while since I've been on and I just want to know how's IT doing now since the release of the EC. I'm surprised the forum wasn't made redundant after this long.
I'm fine with the EC and the ending is now enjoyable, aside from the Catalyst being a last minute touch.

Well new evidnece was implanted in the EC for IT, and lots of new info that I will let teh others explain.

That clicking sound when Anderson starts talking I take it. Honestly I think of that as the machine setting after being used. Like a kettle; it clicks once it finishes its job. But seriously I don't think much of that as evidence.
What else? Didn't Harbinger get some obscured line during the run to the beam?

I've got an idea! Consider how the EC somewhat sent a different message on what the Catalyst was. In the original I got an impression that he was a seperate entity from the Reapers and commanded them. On the other hand, in the EC he's no longer a free-willed being but instead embodies the collective intelligence of the Reapers. The "Reaper consensus" governs him. It may not seem as being so at first glance but think about it.

Harbinger says 'Serve me' when he shoots Shep. Also the catalyst uses a reaper voice in refuse. They also failed to remove any of the 'bugs and oversights' in the ending sequence, so IT is no weaker than before, although many who dislike the theory seem to think if they say it's dead enough it'll come true.

The constant use of 'we' and 'us' made me think otherwise.

Wow so not much has changed. But the question I'm asking is will they really make the theory true even after providing additional closure to their endings. Because that would be weird, providing closure to an previously obsurd ending then saying all those events never took place and that Shepard was indoctrinated so the fight still has to finish.
I'm not sure anymore.

So the words the 'man/woman I once was' used, weren't actually used by them? Probably just a comical oversight, but you never know.

I interpreted this as Shepard using those words like any other (insert any word here) but didn't really understand them without being a reaper. Basically saying you can't understand something you haven't experienced = Reapershep believes they are perfect.

According to Chris Priestly (the Q&A on that german forum this week) that sound was not a spoken line, i.e. was not supposed to have a meaning.

Remember EC wasn't part of their 'big plans'. If IT is the plan, I think they were worried a lot of people wouldn't by the DLCs and miss out on their masterpiece, so they gave everyone something less... rage inducing for the moment.

I'm aware. It could mean the words were synthesized instead of acted. Meaning they didn't lie but it's still on purpose.

You know what I thought the first time I saw the child? Who else do we know of that constantly refers to themselves as "we" and "I"? Oh right. This guy:

But it meant that he indentified himself with the Reapers not that the Reapers formed his existence.

I have a theory that the line means nothing (is reaper language) right now, but will be understandable after we have Leviathan, as that was confirmed to explore reaper language.

I understant if you disagree, but IMO the EC didn't provide any closure. A slide show with a vague monologue (destroy) and nothing about Shepard or her squadmates or her LI? There will be no closure until Shepard is reunited with them, preferably on the Normandy.

Why is Harbinger not so prominent in ME3? Maybe because a hidden enemy is the worst kind of enemy.

It's quite amazing really; almost a month after the release of the Ec and Bioware hasn't formally disproved it and Chris's quote says IT is still "valid". Sort ofMakes you wonder what DA3 is gonna be like.
Is there an "opposite" to the Maker? and bla bla. I've been playing DA:O recently.
@paxxton: Like Palpatine from Star Wars. Not the best example but the one at the top of my head.

Exaclty. [/Anderson]
It makes perfect sense to hide Harbinger in ME3 if IT is true. You concentrate on TIM and forget about him so you will be tricked by him. The same thing they did with forgetting about Saren and synthesis. If IT is untrue, there is no excuse for Harbinger's absence.

So, since it didn't get much discussion last time, Tobi put up an image (+ reverse colour image) of the catalyst "grin" during the control sequence:

I'm not saying I disagree with IT now but I can accept the endings now at least. As for the slide show, well, the same happend in DA:O didn't it? But I do agree it didn't provide much on the squadmates.
On a side note you can still hear "Big Ben" in the background in the EC breathing scene.

Well, that explains why I can never hear the words "serve me"; at one time I thought it might be "save us", but the more I listened to it the more it just became garble to me.
