Could it be assumed that synthesis, and possibly the reapers, gave us the understanding to cure the genophage?
I guess, but considering theres no more war, and no capable krogan leader to keep them in check, I dont see who would decide curing them would be the best idea.
But isn't the point of synthesis is that it gives every race an understanding of the other, and so everyone understands the krogan intimately and sees that they can be helpted towards a constructive and civil future. If not satisfied with that answer...
Space magic
Magic. Got it.
Well personally I think the reason the Krogan aren't trusted is because they are self centered, close minded and blood thirsty. I guess if you believe the synergy space magic thing, it's not a far step towards that. Personally I think it's all bull ****. Mind manipulation or space magic? Which one is more believable?

Some have said it is a time machine that pulls past armadas into the present outnumbering the reapers and defeating them, others say it's a combination of an EMP bomb and an indoctrination canceller?
Is there any other idea that you think the Crucible does?
And please don't say it's a Reaper Trap.
Just think for a moment and say that it's not a reaper trap, but a superweapon meant to stop the Reapers. How would the Crucible stop them?

idk what the crucible really is. the problem right now is what bioware says it is right now: a giant magic machine with the ability to alter the laws of physics and reality with little to no explanation. It's flat out bad writing, that's really all there is to it, unless there actually is some deeper meaning to it all, because honestly I don't see bioware screwing up the ending this badly. It's SUSPICIOUSLY bad writing.

about the kid what really irks me is when shepard finally meets the catalyst in kid form... he doesn't even take notice that he's talking to the kid on earth. doesn't even bat an eye to it. nope... nothing, takes no notice whatsover. he might as well be talking to a giant penguin and not take any note of it whatsoever, just herp derp ok *picks a color*. that's pretty much what happens.
Yeah, that makes no sense in the literal perspective.
However, when you're dreaming, you tend to just go along with whatever crazy stuff happens, and dont question it...

BioWare straight up said there wouldnt be a 'Reaper off switch.'
Then they gave us a Reaper off switch.
I mean, that cant even be excused as bad writing. Thats deliberate misinformation. I doubt they'd just straight up lie like that without a purpose.

theres not much it could be without the engineers working on it getting some kind of idea. i had a thought a while ago when leviathan was first leaked that maybe with a willing reaper the crucible could broadcast some kind of signal/virus, bt to be honest thats only slightly better than the time travel idea

not only that, but pretty much every statement they said pre-release was flat out false by the time the game ended. they straight up lied to everyone and claimed artistic integrity. it sucks and they know it. if you want to get an idea of how little they care it sucks, take a look at tali's face. Let that face be the representation for the amount of effort that went in to this game.

Hold The Line.
unfortunately bioware themselves disproved the "serve us" line saying that it was only mechanical noise and not speech, and that the oily shadows represent the dead people in the war or something. basically they're going out of their way to disprove IT, then turning 90 degrees to add more to it. so either they know what they're doing, or they're a bunch of morons just jerking everybody's chains. why oh why couldn't ME3 just be a GOOD GAME.

You do realize that even if the Crucible is bad writing, it is central to the game and itcannot be blown off as a Reaper Trap. The whole point about the IT is that we have no ending yet, and thus, we must work with what we got, and what we got is the Crucible. It must play a role in the new ending. So we must speculate as to what the Crucible should do since what Shep experienced in the Citadel is just a dream, and thus, what the Godbrat presented to us about what the Crucible does is not true.FreddyCast wrote...

My last speculation before I go to bed:
Maybe it sends out some kind of EMP that weakens the Reapers but doesnt kill them.
It could weaken them enough to make them about as strong as any other ship, and then the fleets would have to have a regular space battle with them, the results of which are determined by your EMS.
So you could possibly wake up, having resisted indoctrination, only to lose the war anyways because your fleets werent strong enough to take out the weakened Reapers at low EMS, or to utterly destroy them at high EMS.
Anyhow, time for sleep.

I got several Ideas, some my own, some from other people in this and the last thread:
First the ideas if the Crucible truly is a weapon and we have yet to see it in action:
Citadel Accelerator Cannon. Basicly the Crucible turns the Citadel into a massive mass acceleretor cannon using its existing fucntion as a mass relay. Using debris and/or Reapers who get to close as ammunition a weapon of that size could easily even the odds in the battle. Also it tie very well into the Accelerator shot which crippled the Derelict Reaper from ME2.
Shield Disable Pulse: A pusle of energy which overloads the Reapers kinetic barriers leaving them vulnerable to the fleets weapons allowing for a chance at victory.
Now if the Crucible is a Trap:
Mass Indoctrination device. Self explanatory.
Reaper Power Source: Tying into the Reapers using the Citadel for making more Reapers, the Crucible could eaily be the battery so to speak they use to activate a new Reaper fully.
Citadel Realy Power Source: An idea for why no one has discovered the Citadel is a Mass Relay. Essentially the Relay part is without much power a, only able to receive the Reapers from dark space, not send them back, minimizing the risk anyone would figure out it is a Relay. An interesting thing on this is that the Citadel dosent have a visible Eezo core unlike the other Relays and it is this purpose the Crucible would fill. As such having the races of the cycle build the Crucible only easens the Reapers work and the vanguard of each cycle disposes of the Crucible.
There are more ideas which i have forgotten, but this is a few of them.
Still though an important thing to remember is that we cannot win by conventional means so the Crucible has to be turned to our advantage somehow or the battle is lost.

Since the crucible looks like a big microphone, I was thinking that it could be a transmiter that links with the relays and brodcasts an altra sonic sound to every system. Basicly its an indoctrination tool on a "mass effect" scale!

Yeah, I want to eyeball Harbinger with a giant mass accelerator cannon
