They shouldn't abandon those who chose Control or Synthesis or Destroy (with low EMS).

Define abandon? Dont get me wrong, my legendsave recorded that I picked control, so I goofed just as badly as those who still defend control/synthesis despite knowing what we know now. Still, I rightfully expect to have to deal with some consequences for making the wrong choice. Wouldnt have it any other way.

Yeah, I got 2 Sheps that chose control, 2 that chose synthesis, and 4 that chose destroy...

I look forward to seeing how the consequences will look like in the EC!

I have 10 Sheps that chose destroy, and one that chose Space Magic.

Why are some saying that I.T requires the end to be retconned?(it's on the HTL votes), the end we see can still happen, then the EC adds to it with Shepard breaking free of the indoctrination attempt and waking up in the rubble.

Here's my guess at why some have a problem with it, they fear they won't get their control or synthesis dream outcome.
"I want to be a big dude and control the reapers."
"I want a utopian society where all will live in peace and harmony."

Personally I want to get back in the thick of the action and kick reaper ass.

That's the beauty of IT. Since it essentially focuses on the player rather than Shepard, it takes advantage of those who employ too much idealism.

They dont have to, though i personally think low EMS Control/Destroy should end in Reapers winning, a outcome I even think was confirmed to be possible.

At higher EMS ones chances should rise no matter the choice, but with significant losses if Control/Synthesis is chosen and by significant I mean Squadmate/Shepard death significant.

However I also think there should be chances or safety nets as I like to call them, certain choices or items which can make or break it in case of Shepard beeing Indoctrinated, eseentailly offering you a better chance at achieving a good outcome in spite of Indoctrinatioon. I brought this up earlier in this and the last thread.

Possible safety nets could be Rachni Queen, Javik Memory Shard, Eve Crystal and your Love Interest. Off course each safety net would have varuis degrees of helping and might feature losses of their such as your love interest dying to make Shepard snap out of it or in taking him down.

These are just a few ideas and only ideas, but especially the Rahcni one would keep in Bioware´s quote of the Rachni playing a major role in the ending.

I meant the same thing they did with ME2-to-ME3 save import (or lack thereof) if Shepard died at the end of ME2. It'd be unfair cause you had to really try to have Shepard die and it's really easy not to get the Shepard's Breath scene.

Oh, I wouldnt worry about that. The Shepard dying thing from ME2 was a necessity. There is no way that level of divergence could be supported. I'm sure that people who picked the wrong choices/got indoctrinated will have opportunities to turn things around, too. Either way, I think that all 3 choices will get a decent amount of content.

As much as I think IT is true, I'm quite skeptical about EC being a post-breath DLC in any significant way. IT is just too big a selling opportunity. What do you think? What would you do if BioWare announced ME4 as the continuation of ME3 the same day they released an "unsatisfactory" EC?

This series has always been about "choice" and "consequence".
I cannot outright say that destroy is the correct choice, we only have the breath scene to go on, but the other two choices leave much to be desired, think about it.
Control, Legion already explains he could not comprehend the billions of minds, why would Shepard be able to and therefore get control?
Synthesis, the pinnacle of evolution, yet Sovereign already stated the reapers are the pinnacle of evolution, the pinnacle is the top, the only direction from there is down, so the only thing I can summize if this is not hallucination is that Shepard just turned every organic race into reapers.

I tend to replay RPGs a hell of a lot.

I've got like 15 fallout 3 characters, and I'd probly have 20ish Dragon Age characters if the game didnt limit how many unique save files you could have on xbox.

Every time someone acts ridiculously anti-IT or pro-ender, I have to fight the urge to say "You've done exactly what Bioware wants. You're still doing it because they control you! You're indoctrinated!"

Could be quite possible that we're mistaken in assuming that "The end of Shepard's story" implies the Reapers will be defeated.

Not sure I agree on the save earth part, what if the ultimate decision to beat the reapers requires the destruction of the earth, the reason this crossed my mind is because it does not mean the loss of humanity, they are already spread across the galaxy and there is the earth like planet terra nova.
Yes earth has 11billion lives, but Shepard says something to Garrus, it comes down to cold calculus, 11billion to save trillions?

I still say to defeat the bulk of the Reaper forces that are all at Earth, you should just blow up the Sol Relay. Sacrifice the Sol system to save the entire galaxy.

What did Casey Hudson say the theme of ME3 would be? Oh, thats right, "Victory through sacrifice."

I'm not sure whether they might not reconsider their plans and continue Shepard's story. Why would BioWare want to end one of the most recognizable characters in video game history? It may be because there are so many variables to consider after 3 games. But it can be done.

Now that's something I can get on board with, but I do at least hope we can save some lives, namely the fleet that helped.
