Yes earth has 11billion lives, but Shepard says something to Garrus, it comes down to cold calculus, 11billion to save trillions?

I still say to defeat the bulk of the Reaper forces that are all at Earth, you should just blow up the Sol Relay. Sacrifice the Sol system to save the entire galaxy.

What did Casey Hudson say the theme of ME3 would be? Oh, thats right, "Victory through sacrifice."

Now that's something I can get on board with, but I do at least hope we can save some lives, namely the fleet that helped.

If there is no way to save the fleet if you do, in fact, have to sacrifice earth, then i don't know if i can do it. All that effort to unite the galaxy, only to have to kill them off in one swoop.. Eff that

The "fade to white" transition is most common in the dreams, entering the Geth Consensus, getting hit by harby's laser, and several other events that happen during the ending.

A light - the brightness that comes from the sun, fire, etc. and from electrical devices, and that allows things to be seen.

Until how early in the morning do you stay up, Megumi?:P

Let's just say too long? ^^

Btw an interesting side note when taking IT into account. Ashley und Kaidan on mars:
Ash:
Is it really you? Would you even know if they were controlling you somehow?
Is it really you in there? Do you even know? I mean, could they be controlling you?
Kaidan:
For all I know, you could be their puppet, controlled by the Illusive Man himself.
(side note: interesting that Ash has two dialogs but it's always the same for Kaidan)
Sounds a bit like foreshadowing, especially the second dialog of Ash with the "Do you even know?"

If anything EC will expand on what we are already figuring out, or it will completely dismiss IT. Hopefully that breath scene will be less troubling if IT is dismissed... But, what I figure (if IT is true in some way) we will get some interesting post-ending DLC revealed after EC comes out.

This is exactly what I was bracing myself for when Bioware said something like 'not everyone will like the ending', and then when I heard people saying the ending was bad. Of course, what we got was a lot worse.

How about a shtstorm of posts claiming they won't buy any more games by BW/EA?

Flashes to white aren't exclusive in Control.

Well if we sacrifice the fleet we might save the next cycle, but the current one is almost certainly doomed. The fleet at Earth is pratcially everything the galaxy has, if it is destroyed then it dosent matter how few Reapers are left because there will be nothing left to stop them.

Next cycle might be safe, but the current one would one would still have one hell of a problem.

Yeah, and after the Udina incident on the citadel she says something like "How do you fight something going on in your head" referring to indoctrination.
Before I even finished ME3, I was wondering if that was suppose to be hinting at something.

Could be quite possible that we're mistaken in assuming that "The end of Shepard's story" implies the Reapers will be defeated.

I'm not sure whether they might not reconsider their plans and continue Shepard's story. Why would BioWare want to end one of the most recognizable characters in video game history. It may be because there are so many variables to consider after 3 games. But it can be done.

I dont think it can be. Too much divergence, at this point.

Kinda/sorta off topic but, Operation SHIELDWALL is this weekend for MP and they added this little note:

"Special Circumstance: Due to the failure of Operation SILENCER, more banshees will spawn with Reaper enemies and might also spawn with other enemies."

How awesome is THAT?? Consequences of our past actions and all.

I still dont fully buy that we failed SILENCER. Seems too convenient that in the game, asari colonies had to be abandoned due to the Reaper attacks, and then we fail an operation to kill reapified asari, and asari colonies have to be abandoned.

Yeah - although 3 million was a high target anyway. Maybe that set it that high deliberatrely knowing it wouldn't be reached.

Either way - I thought that it was pretty ..convienant.

i understand that there is no way to save the entire fleet, but saving a good portion of the fleet is what i was saying. If the entire fleet is doomed to the sacrifice earth option, then that would also, in a way, render my efforts to unite them pointless. If there is a way to save a fraction of the fleet however, then sacrificing the earth to save the rest would be the way to go. Of course, we don't know if we will actually have to make that choice.

Starbinger would just do that Dragonball Z thing where the smoke clears, and he's still there. Camera pans over to Shepard's face and he gets wide-eyed and starts making awkward "aaah aaah aah" sounds.

Yea it might be difficult to do, but i think it can be done. Shep could take on the yahg. We all know they will soon discover space travelling, and the yahg would make a sickass enemy to fight
