This also goes with. " May you be in heavan in the next half hour, before the Devil knows you're dead."

So... nothing at Comic Con. What... exactly are we holding onto here? Are some of you still thinking that Bioware will reveal the IT?

*snip*

Did I miss something? Cuz your picture seems like I missed some grand announcement. Please, enlighten me. It was just a question.

I believe he thinks you're one of those trolls that comes in and goes 'Wow, you guys STILL believe in IT?'

He's wrong, unless you've changed stances on IT, though.

Nope. Not changed. Just pissed at Bioware. Taken a month leave from the forums because of it, and I decided to come back and see what you guys are still holding onto, because frankly, things don't seem good at all. And it seems Bioware did indeed intend the shi* of an ending we got. So... I'm curious if there's anything new that we have to give us hope. Otherwise, it seems like nothing more than an awesome alt-interpretation. I don't see Bioware pulling off any brilliant twist/reveal at this point.

Of course, this is one thing I'd love to be proven wrong about.

You missed me trying to unite the It and literalist together. It was not bad, but it caused a little fan battle for a bit, but it died down.

guys here is the full quote that Garrus makes before the final push.

The line comes from an Irish Blessing that reads:

May your glass be ever full.
May the roof over your head be always strong.
And may you be in heaven
a full half hour before the devil knows you're dead.

All the blessings get mixed together, but the message is the same. It is meant to be a playful jab to kin or friend that they will not make it to heaven because of their indiscretions, so may they sneak by without the devil catching on too quickly.

I don't know about you guys but I'm personally waiting on the Leviathan DLC to see if any more hints are dropped or elaborated on, otherwise I may be done with trying to keep up with this thread. I really don't want to do that though... :)

Fan battle? I did the same thing with WNT: EC and all I got was a few good comments then silence. You would think someone would critesize but instead I was surprised there was none. Maybe I am just that good. I'm troll proof and I have facts that cannot be disproven.

Okay here is the whole thing that Garrus quotes.

IRISH BLESSINGS

May you always have walls for the winds,
a roof for the rain, tea beside the fire,
laughter to cheer you, those you love near you,
and all your heart might desire.

May St. Patrick guard you wherever you go,
and guide you in whatever you do--
and may his loving protection be a blessing to you always.

May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields and,
Until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

May you have love that never ends,
lots of money, and lots of friends.
Health be yours, whatever you do,
and may God send many blessings to you!

May the sun shine, all day long,
everything go right, and nothing wrong.
May those you love bring love back to you,
and may all the wishes you wish come true!

May your feet never sweat,
your neighbor give you ne're a treat.
When flowers bloom, I hope you'll not sneeze,
and may you always have someone to sqeeze!

I-rish you a very nice place to live,
I-rish God's greatest gifts he'll give.
I-rish you health, and wealth, and more--
I-rish your smilin' face were at my door!

May you have:
A world of wishes at your command.
God and his angels close to hand.
Friends and family their love impart,
and Irish blessings in your heart!

May you alway walk in sunshine.
May you never want for more.
May Irish angels rest their wings right beside your door.

May God grant you many years to live,
For sure he must be knowing.
The earth has angels all too few.
And heaven is overflowing.

May you have the hindsight to know where you've been
the foresight to know where you're going
and the insight to know when you're going too far.

May God grant you always...
A sunbeam to warm you,
A moonbeam to charm you,
A sheltering angel, so nothing can harm you.

May you have warm words on a cold evening,
a full moon on a dark night,
and the road downhill all the way to your door.

May your pockets be heavy and your heart be light.
May good luck pursue you each morning and night.

For each petal on the shamrock.
This brings a wish your way
Good health, good luck, and happiness
For today and every day.

May the Irish hills caress you.
May her lakes and rivers bless you.
May the luck of the Irish enfold you.
May the blessings of Saint Patrick behold you.

May peace and plenty be the first,
To lift the latch to your door.
And happiness be guided to your home,
By the candle of Christmas.

May the embers from the open hearth warm your hands,
May the sun's rays from the Irish sky warm your face,
May the children's bright smiles warm your heart,
May the everlasting love I give you warm your soul.

May you always have work for your hands to do.
May your pockets hold always a coin or two.
May the sun shine bright on your windowpane.
May the rainbow be certain to follow each rain.
May the hand of a friend always be near you.
And may God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you.

May your thoughts be as glad as the shamrocks,
May your heart be as light as a song,
May each day bring you bright, happy hours,
That stay with you all the year long.

Leprechauns, castles, good luck and laughter.
Lullabies, dreams and love ever after.
A thousand welcomes when anyone comes...
That's the Irish for You!

May the good saints protect you,
And bless you today.
And may troubles ignore you,
Each step of the way.

May joy and peace surround you,
Contentment latch your door,
And happiness be with you now,
And bless you evermore.

May the saint protect ye-
An' sorrow neglect ye,
An' bad luck to the one
That doesn't respect ye
t' all that belong to ye,
An long life t' yer honor-
That's the end of my song t' ye!

May good luck be your friend
IN whatever you do.
And may trouble be always
A stranger to you.

May your blessings outnumber
The Shamrocks that grow.
And may trouble avoid you
Wherever you go.

These things, I warmly wish for you-
Someone to love, some work to do,
A bit of o' sun, a bit o' cheer.
And a guardian angel always near.

Whenever there is happiness
Hope you'll be there too,
Wherever there are friendly smiles
Hope they'll smile on you,
Whenever there is sunshine,
Hope it shine especially for you to make each day
for you as bright as it can be.

May your troubles be less,
And your blessing be more.
And nothing but happiness,
Come through your door.

May brooks and trees and singing hills
Join in the chorus too,
And every gentle wind that blows
Send happiness to you.

Lucky stars above you,
Sunshine on your way,
Many friends to love you,
Joy in work and play-
Laughter to outweigh each care,
In your heart a song-
And gladness waiting everywhere
All your whole life long!

When the first light of sun-
Bless you.
When the long day is done-
Bless you.
In your smiles and your tears-
Bless you.
Through each day of your years-
Bless you.

May the raindrops fall lightly on your brow.
May the soft winds freshen your spirit.
May the sunshine brighten your heart
May the burdens of the day rest lightly upon you.
And may God enfold you in the mantle of His love.

He who loses money, loses much;
He who loses a friend, loses more;
He who loses faith, loses all.

May you enjoy the four greatest blessings:
Honest work to occupy you.
A hearty appetite to sustain you.
A good woman to love you.
And a wink from the God above.

May the wings of the butterfly kiss the sun.
And find your shoulder to light on.
To bring you luck, happiness and riches.
Today, tomorrow and beyond.

May you live a long life
Full of gladness and health,
With a pocket full of gold
As the least of you wealth.
May the dreams you hold dearest,
Be those which come true,
The kindness you spread,
Keep returning to you.

May the friendships you make,
Be those which endure,
And all of your grey clouds
Be small ones for sure.
And trusting in Him
To Whom we all pray,
May a song fill your heart,
Every step of the way.

guys here is the full quote that Garrus makes before the final push.

I agree. There are many, many, many refrences to things being a bit 'beyond' the overt experience in gameplay, and it usually shines through in the dialogue.

Not totally related, but when this was pointed out, I jumped on it:
youtu.be/DJ0RPaKBq5E

A lot of interesting things in the script, and cinematics.

Indeed there is.
I was familiar with it before, but like hell am I going to explain it when someone's done it in comedic fashion on yahoo answers:

http://answers.yahoo...22072508AAqUxgb

It's very interesting, particularly taking into account all we've talked about.

I would place the "heaven" (which is an illusion) as being the garden world at the end.

The decision chamber and TIM confrontation has more of a "purgatory" feel to me...

Kind of like the "light at the end of the tunnel" if you've done well enough and beaten indoctrination Shepard decides they're not done yet, and you have the symbolism of not putting the name on the memorial wall...

What's more relevant is where it comes from.

In comedic fake irish:

ti's indeed an Irish quip. But, its rooted in christian lore. For the devil to take your soul whilst you are living, you have to give it to him willingly. From the time you die till ye are in sacred ground interred, your unprotected soul is fair game. Tis why no body is left unprotected by a most trusted friend e'en though the night without repose. A seconds faltering or the invitation in to the those of evil will give the devil his due. Go ye to an Irish wake and try to catch the night watchman asleep at his task. Verily it can't be done. Once the body is encrypted in sacred ground, the devil is deprived of any further opportunity to secure the dead man's soul. The saying says, may you be safely in heaven, buried in sacred ground, before the devil has his last chance to claim your soul.

Seems applicable to the ending, no?

The thing is is that Anderson already told Shepard, that he was born in London. And there is no way Shepard will forget that, because we know that Shepard has a good memory because he talks to old friends that Shepard helped since ME1, and he stills remembers every problem he/she did to help them get out of it.

So I say it's a test. In case Shepard is starting to feel not like Shepard. Also Maybe Anderson got a tip from Joker, that Shepard is acting like not his/her self, and you sshould watch out if he/she is okay.

@TSA - I always thought it looked promising. Maybe it will be a test to see if BioWare could make movies in the Mass Effect universe. If they do any more I hope they are anime for:

1- Halo did and it was successful. 2- Too hard to do live action 3- Price to make live action is much higher meaning less quality 4- Allows characters to look like they are supposed to instead of SGI or live actors. 5- Allows possibility for continuation of favorite characters like Garrus.

Anderson keeps saying over and over and over that he's from London in this game.

He says it this last time on the ship in London. Some think its to test Shepard for some reason.

Shepard says.... "Really?"

:alien:

Anderson then sideways glances Shepard.

Dear god I cant wait till you stop talking about it somehow being a test. If so it was the worst worst damned test ever. I mean seriously.

Anderson: I was born in London.
Shepard thinking: I already know this, but I'm not gonna interrupt him, he may have simply forgotten that he told me.
Anderson: OMG SHEPARD IS INDOCTRINATED!

If Anderson really meant it as a test he's a god damned moron.

It does seem odd...but really without the Reapers then Shepard wouldn't have the need or motivation to unite the galaxy. So the Reapers are responsible but they didn't get them together. Instead I would think that the Reaper's would fragment the races. That's part of their strategy right?

ti's indeed an Irish quip.

Bringing this up again.
At the end of the day, Bioware is a canadian firm, I refuse to believe the writers came across what is a relatively uncommon irish phrase and used it without looking into what it meant.

Harbinger wanted your mind from the beginning, for synthesis, but as we see with the Leviathan harbinger can only take control of your mind if you willingly submit on a certain level.

I outright refuse to believe that this line wasn't intended to foreshadow the ending. The modern contemporary meaning almost makes sense in the circumstances, but the origins here really can be interpreted as a warning.
