Huh.

You don't think it's about three or four pitches too high? Which did you listen to?

Honest, Improvised, and Pitched Lower. The lower pitch actually sounds a bit better.

Here you go mother****ers.

My only consolation is that this was done with a passive mic in a pair of earbuds likely never intended for recording work. I'll have to dig out my USB microphone headset later.

The Codex one is good, though some pauses seem weird.

Oh good. Nothing too embarassing then. Usually I can do a better impression of Steve Blum than the one I gave.

Lol, well it's SUPPOSED to sound like our delightfully hammy Codex Narrator.

You know what? Your voice sounds exactly as I had expected it to be. No joke. It's intelligent, but not too stuck up about it.

Huh.

Funny, I usually manage to be pretty pretentious, stuck up and prickish.

so no new evidence, no new videos? Can you guys point me in a direction at least? I'm interested.

Not sure if this was discussed but the Charon, the relay that humanity discovers might be a reference to Charon from Greek mythology who was a ferryman in Hades. Cerberus is also from Greek mythlogy and guards the underworld.

All this might be a hint towards Dante's "Divine Comedy" in which...

Wow. That is really deep. I didn't even notice the Divine Comedy angle and I've read it twice over.

Also "Dis" came from the Divine Comedy... Leviathan of Dis

However, the VI is named Vigil, as in a state of watchfulness, not Virgil, Dante's guide.

Cerberus is explicitly related to the relay being named Charon. The Charon relay was actually at one point, Pluto's moon, Charon, encased completely in ice, which actually orbited around a center point with Pluto, rather than orbiting the planet itself.

In his manifesto, Jack Harper, AKA The Illusive Man, called for a "Cerberus to guard against what lay beyond the Charon Relay." Making a reference to classical Greek myth by referencing the guardian of the underworld.

Don't worry about it. Your voice sounds fine to me. Everyone's voice sounds higher pitched when they hear it from a recording - I know mine does.

Maybe try with a slightly slower, more measured pace. I had to do some public speaking a while back and I was coached to always speak much more slowly than I would naturally. It makes you seem less nervous and more authoritative.

When can we expect the documentary?

Just listened to it now and your voice reminds me a bit of Phil LaMarr. :D
And it doesn't sound bad at all. It's good!

Agreed. You sound just fine Arian. Try the pitched lower combined with the Codex VA impression without hamming it and see how that turns out.

Arian, try balancing the Codex Narrator-style voice so that it doesn't waver and it'll be fine. + don't make too many pauses in unexpected places. Drink a lot of water to get rid of a sore throat. Try reading it with humor (but not too much).
