So, is there a difference between sync kill and instant kill? If not, why use the term sync kill? I'd never even heard of it before ME3.

Sync-killed by a phantom Megumi? Totally didn't see that coming after constantly biotic charging and meleeing it. Posted Image

I missed the timing, you can continuously stagger it if you do it right...

Lol does your squad not have any medigel left? Posted Image

xD
At least I don't since about we started :D

In case you want any more, I find veteran packs have the best returns for medigel/cobras/whatever.

It's what the devs call it because of animation sync.

I use both but I try to say "sync-kill" because it is more specific than "instant kill."

Edit: Wow Estebanus doesn't have any medigel left either. That sucks.

Question: How does a Krogan reach the cobra missile launcher when it's practically mounted on his neck?

Have you guys reached an agreement on where the hallucination begins?

The most obvious would be after the beam hit. But... Reaper-induced Shepard's Dream Theory (RSDT)
Some elements of hallucinations appear earlier than the run to the Conduit.

The APC crash just before the beam run could be another possible beginning.

How? Posted Image

It was a theory I remember someone posted in an older thread that put forward that the APC crash knocks Shepard unconscious and that that could have been the start of IT.

The crash just made no sense to me. What? The driver just crashed into the side of the hill and caught the vehicle on fire?

I thought you were talking about the mako by the turret.

No no, I was on about the scene where your travelling to the beam run. Thinking about what I said previously there, if the crash was the start, the writers have just hacked off Inception - the Reapers putting there ideas deep in the dream layers:
-1) APC crash to beam run
-2)Beam to StarS*!t
-3)The 4 end sequences

Playing as a Krogan I must say I never paid attention to that. And I use them pretty often. Maybe Krogan arms are a little more flexible than we think?

When I was in formula student an austrian team used a giant PA system to wake up their team with that song at 6:45am exactly every morning.

I'm pretty sure it was psychologial warfare.

I see the conversation has already moved past this, but I'd like to add my two cents anyway.

In London, when Anderson says (for the second time in the game) that he was born in London, and Shep says 'Really?', it always struck me as a sarcastic remark. Some people here are saying that Shep reacts as if (s)he's never heard it before, but it doesn't sound like that at all to me. To me it totally sounds like Shep says it because (s)he would find it odd that Anderson mentions that, either because he's mentioned it before, or because she doesn't believe he was born there. IIRC, there's a suggestive close-up of Shep's face when (s)he says that. Very suspicious.

I always thought it was a really weird moment, including on my first playthrough, when Indoctrination wasn't even on my mind until the very end.

Not to mention the fact that Anderson continues to say that it took the Reapers to bring the galaxy together, only to be corrected that it was Shepard, makes it a very suspicious moment.

I've always felt that way, something is up with that scene. It's not just a reiteration of info for those who missed the optional first conversation, I'm sure.

Since Bioware managed to portray emotions on ME characters well throughout the trilogy, such that it was pretty clear what emotion was intended.
Here, it is obviously more ambiguous, as different players came to different conclusions what Shepard's emotion was during this bit. I think the ambiguity is intended by the devs.

You know, you may be right about that. Especially because I firmly believe that whatever they're going to release, they're going to forever leave the whole ending ambiguous.

I am 100% convinced they included Indoctrination and all its clues on purpose, but if you truly want to recreate the perfect illusion that is indoctrination, you need to leave the victim in a state where everything seems perfectly okay, yet at the back of the victim's mind there needs to be this little voice whisperig that something seems off. This is what they're talking about when they say 'artistic vision', I'm sure.

As for all you guys firmly believing that we're going to get the reveal at some point, be prepared for a disappointment. I dearly hope I'm wrong, but I think this is how it is.

Maybe not a reveal, but I do feel that they'll leave it all but completely obvious. Leviathan will be the start, with insights on indoctrination (ha) and the Reapers' origins...

I just created a poll about a possible canon-ending for the next ME sequel (That is, if there ever will be one). You might want to check it out!

The way I understand IT, Shepard's final choices stand for either breaking free of indoctrination or falling for the trap of Reapers. Now, without reaveal and after ending DLC the war against reapers is not over, the story is untold and it's just as bad as literal view of the current ending.

I also understand that last moments of the game could be combination of the dream and reality, but I kind of like the first option better, there last moments od the game is a war of minds and wills.

I agree. As you get more DLC's the ending get's clearer to the big picture that we are seeking.

So what have I missed in the last 24 hours? Also what's up with the big countdown clock at the top of the page?

I think the game engine has become lazy. On some occasions, when a Banshee magnet pulled me to her, I just stood there, locked, and in some cases 2 sec later I suddenly went from standing to lying dead and in some occasions I could move again, but no animations of the Banshee picking me up.
Or in other words, those 2 sec I'm idling in front of the Banshee I'm playing the famous Schrödinger's N7 Shadow: I might wind up dead, or maybe not.
