@ Estebanus I read this
"Wrex is leading several krogan into battle to rescue captain Kirrahe from being surrounded, and he manages to break through to him. However, more husks appear, And all of Kirrahee's and Wrex's men are killed, leaving only them. When another dozen of brutes and banshees appear, they both charge towards them."

Just change it to ravagers and this is actually really, really good. It would then be a nod to the joke about a krogan and a salarian fighting in the rachni wars. The one you hear both telling! It would be brilliant! Image IPB

That's what I said Banshee. To tell Chris to write us back on weather or not he is going to close this thread because of the pages. Also say that if he does lock IT down, to do it when byne is here.

Except Shepard can't stand as well against indoctrination after saving the base. In low-EMS scenarios where Shepard saved the base they are forced to pick Control (or reject). Granted the Catalyst acts pissy because low-EMS Shepard isn't as useful for them as high-EMs Shepard, but the fact remains that a Shepard who saved the base and hasn't prepped the galaxy can't break free of the indoctrination attempt. A low-EMS Shepard who destroyed the base will be mentally resistant to the indoctrination attempt and thus can easily break free. Though of course without backup Shepard will be waking to their death.

Saving the base is Shepard accepting the idea of utilizing the reapers' technology and tactics against them. It's following in TIM's footsteps, essentially.

But I don't understand why Shepard can't break free of the indoctrination attempt if s/he kept the collector base. The base wasn't even near Shepard, the intel or whatever was given to the Alliance to build the Crucible. So why would keeping the base affect Shepard's indoctrination level, or resistance to the indoctrination?

A Shepard who kept the base maybe wanted to use the reapers' technology against them, but Shepard still wanted to destroy the reapers up until this point. Wether using the reapers' technology or not. So giving Shepard the option of control if s/he kept the base even though s/he had no intention of following TIM's footseps of controling the reapers making little sense to me.

That's how I feel Banshee. When ever I show up everyone stopes, but when I post to much people are on my case.

Honestly tho, it doesn't make much sense to add in a "plot-twist" DLC that skews up the existing ending. There's no way from a business-perspective standpoint that it's a good strategy, anyone with a degree in revolving regarding business will tell you this. <_<

I've never rated business degrees ;).

I'm a company director in addition to my student life - used to be a managing director of my own webhosting business when I was in my teens but sold it to pay for my uni costs & living expenses for 5 years of masters degree

I wrote a good thread Pre-EC explaining why it works as a business strategy. So did Arian and his theory was a bit more developed:

Is it bad if I decided to put a virus into the water of D.C. so that everyone affected by radiation is killed by it?

Not entirely. It makes sense from a certain viewpoint. Fallout 3's ending was an actual moral choice rather than a trick though ;)

Do you have broken steel? What happens to all the mutants when you're wandering around after?

I feel that Shepard does make it to the Crucible but from the moment TIM appears the Reapers are attempting to indoctrinate him. When Shep gets to the catalyst the star child is Harbinger taking the form of the child because Shep is sympathetic because he represents humanity that Shep couldn't save. If refusal is chosen the star child reveals its true form because Shep has rejected indoctrination. So (for me) refusal is the most logical or truest ending.

Could you believe that I finished Fallout 3 a few years ago but have never played the Broken Steel DLC? Does it change the ending significantly? I know about the water purifier (it was there that the ending took place for me).

A lot of differing opinion about refuse. We can't really say for sure. I think it was added to give players with low EMS and a saved collector base an option to break free. BleedingUranium suggested that refuse and destroy are akin to a standard paragon response and a charm response, respectively. So basically, if you pick refuse, you say pretty much the same thing, but with much less effect = maybe Shepard would die in refuse or something.

I once played MP as a human with 2 krogan Vanguards. It was weird constantly hearing growls and seeing flashes of light flying all around.

No, I was just thinking of saying something like:
"Hey, the last IT thread was closed in part because of its length. We are approaching the same threshold now. So I was wondering: Should we prepare to make another (gather relevant data, links posts etc.)? We would just prefer not to get caught off guard. Thanks!"

Good enough? Suggestions?

It seems to be the only option where Shepard still acts like Shep for me. I think he does die in refuse and the stargazers are a different type of alien rather than humans.

That's funny. It's always funny to play a game with either 4 people with the same weapons (1 day I will play with 4 Typhoons Image IPB) or 4 of the same character (Fury, krogan, quarian etc.)

hmm about the jack o lantern, valentines gift, and easter egg basket (this is some straw grasping). what if they put those in there as hints to when they'll release dlc for single player? jack o lantern: dlc coming in october, valentine's: dlc coming in february, easter eggs: dlc in april?

just a guess.

I suppose you could ask that. They might not lock it for length this time because everybody either knows about IT or doesn't care.
