How exactly did you get from "used Crucible" to "choosing destroy"?

Because they defeated the reapers.

They "stopped the reaper threat" supposedly. That's not equivilent to destroying them.

Also, Sub, you're confusing me. Stop saying things I want to agree with!

But that could equally apply to control, because you have "defeated" the Reapers by ending their threat and Shepard controlling them

Also, when I did refuse and the same pop-up message you get for all endings I was like OMGWTFBBQ? "Commander Shepard has become a legend by ending the reaper threat"? Orly? Could've sworn I just lost!

At least it thanks you for playing now instead of asking for more money.

True.

Well I mean it says you "defeated" them by doing nothing in reject. But regardless, it wasn't synthesis. No green circuitry on the aliens or trees.

Threat's not ended permanantly. They're still there, ready to restart the cycle.

Literalist interpreation: Future cycle defeats reapers with either destroy, control, synthesis.

IT: Future cycle could destroy and thus defeat reapers. Or think they pick control/synth and think they defeated the reapers.

Please keep an open mind.

Or that scene is in Shepard's head, and therefore doesn't have to make any sense, like most of Shep's other hallucinations.

I feel that Shepard does make it to the Crucible but from the moment TIM appears the Reapers are attempting to indoctrinate him. When Shep gets to the catalyst the star child is Harbinger taking the form of the child because Shep is sympathetic because he represents humanity that Shep couldn't save. If refusal is chosen the star child reveals its true form because Shep has rejected indoctrination. So (for me) refusal is the most logical or truest ending.

A lot of differing opinion about refuse. We can't really say for sure. I think it was added to give players with low EMS and a saved collector base an option to break free. BleedingUranium suggested that refuse and destroy are akin to a standard paragon response and a charm response, respectively. So basically, if you pick refuse, you say pretty much the same thing, but with much less effect = maybe Shepard would die in refuse or something.

It seems to be the only option where Shepard still acts like Shep for me. I think he does die in refuse and the stargazers are a different type of alien rather than humans.

They're clearly alien, but the idea that they could beat the reapers is a fallacy, and therefore makes no sense out of Shepard's head. That seems to be a recurring theme...Image IPB

Could it not be that Shepard knew he would lose if he refused but that the advances they had made would help one of the next cycles to win.

Read my more recent post.  What advances did they make to help someone in 50000 years?

They managed to build the Crucible (whereas the Protheans just went around trying to destroy everything). Sure it said in the game that no-one had managed it before. Plus Liara knows about Cerberus attempting to control the Reapers (could be used in the next cycle to turn Reaper forces against themselves). They also could leave a record of how hard the final battle is.
It would be interesting to know which species the Reapers let live to start the next cycle.

Yes bare in mid that this is the future, that we are seeing, and it looks like Control, and Synthesis never happened, because there are no mention of Reapers in Control, and Synthesis at all in there time. Also not only that, but all three stargazzer scenes are the same, excepte refuses ending. Looks like Shepard, was suppost to kill the Reapers, not save them in the Stargazzer scene.

I am open minded. I'm open to many different interpretations, but none of them include living reapers not being considered a threat.

I'm a bit lost here. The protheans built the crucible but were missing the catalyst (at least according to out favourite tampered-with VI). Information about a seperatist group wouldn't really help much either; they'd still be a seperatist group. Can't control the reapers. Finally, "They also could leave a record of how hard the final battle is."
No idea what you mean here sorry.

Thanks, but I know the quote. I changed it because I was impying that "they" are the other interpretations which involve living reapers not being a threat. So They those interpretations are wrong.
Also, did you see what I posted earlier about your reject ideas?

That sounds extremely unpatriotic of you. It's your duty to America and the enclave to destroy these savages and mutants!

All hail president Eden!
