Reposting this to show just how ludicrous the idea that Shepard is on the Crucible is. I mean come ON. The finest minds in the galaxy came up with THIS? I know that they were working off of schematics created by previous races but SERIOUSLY.

Shepard: Who the hell designed the switch functions on that top floor?!
Scientist: The dark energy professor you sent us.
Shepard: I didn't send you any dark energy professor.
Scientist: Sure you did, let me find it in the paperwork here. ... Ahh, here it is. Dr. Conrad Verner.
Shepard: Oh for the love of...

No yeah, that's awesome. But I mean the part about the Illusive Man turning to indoctrination to ensure troop loyalty. Was that known?

Yeah. There were some notes about it in the first Cerberus side mission you get. Remember the one where you grab a few pieces of Reaper tech they were studying and have to hold out while Cortez tries to shake off some fighters before he can pick you up? Takes place in Firebase Glacier if you're familiar with MP maps.

Agreed. Unlike most of the IT'ers here I was giving EpyonX3 the benefit of the doubt when I first read it and indeed the first set of pics were good. That one though... Jesus. That looks like something a drunken hillbilly would claim is a picture he took of Bigfoot. :(

LOL I agree that it wasn't accidental. I'm hoping you guys understand that.

I just disagree on the intention.

Also the predator is loaded after your love interest clip is shown, making it the same as the other clips where guns change.

Side question, didn't TIM use a predator?

It is loaded as soon as the cutscene triggers, it's only switched shortly after the LI cutscene is shown. Yes he got a Predator from Anderson (seems to pack a good amount of pistols as he had a Carnifex previously) and is sporting a Carnifex in the comics.

Watched it again with Fly cam, you're right it changes as the tube explodes for the last time. Again, I think it's because they wanted the player to be able to see it. The carnifex would have been too small and dark.

I can't see how this is a clue to IT. What does the gun have to do with the scene being real or not?

The Predator is best seen against the bright background of the explosion, so a darker gun doesn't matter.
The clue would be that Shep usually has a Predator and the Carnifex is not his gun. Also the Carnifex in ME3 is only used for scenes where bad things can happen, killing Mordin, killing Wrex, killing Ash/Kaidan

This is why I believe it's more a programmatic issue with the scene than a clue for IT. I just think there are stronger evidences for IT than this.

You think Shep was supposed to have a Predator for the whole ending? Nope. The Carnifex you get has bottomless mag and a Predator reload, so it's a different asset than all other Carnifexs. Carnifi? Anyway, in the game files it's called "EndgameCarnifex", so it was always supposed to be one.

I agree. Saying that TIM's use of a Predator isnt symbolic because he can use it to kill Shepard is pointless, because then we'd have to apply the non-ideal outcomes to everything, and that would get very confusing.

Also, it is fitting for TIM to have the Predator, because, by this theory, it represents breaking free of indoctrination. Not every Predator is symbolic, but everytime a pistol is used in a plot significant and morally good way, it's a Predator.

-Saren, TIM, and the leader of the Feros colony all killed themselves with a Predator
-Shep uses one to free the Rachni Queen in ME3
-Shep has a Predator when protecting the Salarian councilor

I'm sure there are more I'm not remembering

Also, any time there's a Carnifex, something bad is going to happen. Except seen Anderson with one before the beam run, because that was used to set up Shep picking it up.

-Saren killing Nihlus
-Killing Mordin (this is double important, because he gave you the Carnifex in ME2)
-Killing Wrex (also double important, as the slogan for Carnifex is a charging krogan)
-More I can't remember Posted Image

Shep also has a predator in that scene with Liara I posted.

But TIM uses that predator to kill anderson if you let him and you can use the carnifex to kill TIM and save anderson. Also, If the carnifex is supposed to symbolize something bad then Destroy is a bad choice since you use it to start the chain reaction.

But the "proper" outcome is for TIM to kill himself. It turns into the Predator at the last second, because that explosion represents Shep breaking the indoc attempt

Proper for Paragon, but what about Renagade?

That second part is a stretch to me. Doesn't mean it's not true.

The difference is whenever you get a Carnifex you either have only the option to shoot or not (Renegade interrupt). When you sport a Predator you usually get either an interrupt to put the gun down first (Paragon interrupt, sometimes followed by a Renegade interrupt).

Well then obviously the Phaeston is also symbolic of breaking indoctrination, because that's what Marauder Shields uses! Posted Image lol

Also, the first recommended search on Google if you type in "Marauder" is Marauder Shields, that's hilarious!

I disagree that it's a stretch. The symbolism of the two guns is quite clear to me.

Combine that with the fact that the Endgame Carnifex is given a "Injured Shepard" Predator reload, that was obviously an animation created specifically for the endgame sequence, but that you only see if you have the presence of mind to try reloading even though the game wont force you to, and then your Carnifex switches to a Predator (again, remember the Symbolism) when you pick what is widely believed to be the best ending (breaking the indoc attempt)... I mean, how can you come to any other conclusion?

That happened a lot in ME2 too, with everyone using Avengers in cutscenes even if they cannot equip them.

You might need the 4000 - 5000 EMS mark.

I did. I used the file where my EMS gets the breathe scene and the good red ending.

This gun stuff sure is interesting. I wish someone would make a TL;DR every 15 pages or so for people who have been out of the loop :(

Also, HellishFiend, for some reason I find your name vaguely awesome.

Epyon, that is a fools errand. You're starting to sound like Paxxton with his nanides.

The difference is that the Grand Unified Air-borne Nanide-based Indoctrination Theory is plausible. Posted Image

I will concede that the nanites are plausible, but Shep is INDEED on the citadel.

repost for people who missed it:
https://twitter.com/...492753411473408

" I played some new stuff today from @ericFagnan , @CGaspur and the team which i believe is the best we've ever put out. I really can't wait. "

EC he is playing has gameplay, so the endings will have gameplay. Literalists can stop braying that the endings will not have gameplay. Another victory for us.

EDIT: We know it's the EC he is referring to because they have postponed all DLC on their schedule to work specifically on the EC.
