Are you deliberately missing the point?, according to Hackett we need the crucible to defeat the reapers, we are missing a vital piece of information to complete the crucible that was taken by TIM, the clues lead us to sanctuary, remember Hackett wants the crucible built, so I ask again, why would Hackett not be in favor of Shepard following up on the clues and going to Sanctuary?gunslinger_ruiz wrote...

Because they're in the middle of a war, no time for "maybes" or "what ifs" unless it's Shepard I guess. If he really didn't want you to go there, there would be dialogue of him telling you so before you left not after.

Sanctuary wasn't a guranteed place they'd find Cerberus or even Kai Leng, just the only place with any activity in the system Traynor managed to track him too. And she didn't really track him directly there, only to the system that his shuttle disappeared in. So it was a gamble that might not have paid off, so it's understandable if Hackett wouldn't approve but this is Shepard he's talking to so he's not about to order them not to if he/she really thinks it's worth going to.

Sorry, I was a bit sharp, but Hackett has every reason for Shepard to follow up the clues and no reason to be against it, btw TIM has every reason for Hackett to be indoctrinated, Hackett is the one overseeing the construction of the crucible which TIM wants control of.gunslinger_ruiz wrote...
I'm not sure what else you want from me, I don't think there's sufficient evidence in the line "I wasn't in favor of your diversion to Sanctuary, but it paid off" (paraphrasing) as from he thought your time might be better spent elsewhere.
Hackett indoctrinated by The Illusive Man seems too much a stretch, maybe by the Reapers, but The Illusive Man would have to get to him first to implant him.

I like that someone else noticed the "Why haven't we heard from Admiral Hackett" line in the beginning of the game. That still bothers me. Hackett is also the main guy telling you you can't win the war without the crucible.DJBare wrote...

so if IT is confirmed in the extended cut do you guys figure we'll get to see The Illusive Man again?
lol if I just walked by TIM's dead body I would stop playing the game then and theregunslinger_ruiz wrote...

IF it's true probably yes, either that or see his lifeless body somewhere (like if we got him to shoot himself).

I actually kinda felt bad that we failed the last weekend challenge, I'll be sure to participate more in the future.

nah I always liked The Illusive Man, he's my favorite character. I'm hoping everything was a hallucination after Harbinger's beam and either TIM does something at the last minute to save Shepard or at least something against the Reapers. I don't wanna see him as a villain though.gunslinger_ruiz wrote...

Wait, why? Are you hoping he's alive to further mess with Shepard? Even if you paragon'd the hell out of him he's still a Reaper thrall, with just enough control left o put a bullet in his head.
