It's really painful because it's in my nature to discuss, debate, and argue.

I probably should have been a lawyer, pundit, or politician...

It's also painful when you ACTUALLY have answers that make sense, but you know that you will recieve only nonsense in return.:(

Ah well... Back to Indoctrination Theory (though I have nothing to add right now, have ME3 on xbox and can't analyze the files on a pc)!

Why waste all your potential becoming one of those? :P

I'm just about to complete my first ever Insanity run on ME1 (finally), and I just went through the Conduit, and I have a question...

The Conduit is the "beam" that they use to get to the Citadel at the end of ME3 in London, right? Why does it look so different? In ME1, the Conduit looks like a miniature mass relay, and similarly, there's another mini mass relay on the Citadel that you come out of.

Perhaps they explained somewhere why they changed what the Conduit looks like? Or maybe I misunderstood, and that beam at the end isn't the Conduit at all?

Control-

The reapers LOVE to control, it's what they are all about. They have left technology scattered around the galaxy in order to control our evolutionary path, they control our future by forcing the most advanced civilizations to become them, there is practically NO aspect of life that they don't control in one way or another

Synthesis-

The reapers have always regarded themselves as the most advanced civilization, they ARE the prime example of synthesis, it's not pretty. They ARE the alpha predator and DON'T consider pure organics or pure synthetics to be anything more than fuel or nuisances. They believe that synthesis is the best evolutionary model to live by.

Destroy-

One thing the Catalyst says that rings true is they DO preserve life, they let organics live simply because they need us for survival, to destroy is to create chaos, but out of that chaos rises freedom, a new beginning, and infinite possibilities.

To believe that either control or synthesis is the answer is to agree with the reapers, which opens the door for them to exploit that side of your psyche, convincing you that siding with the reapers is a better solution than destroying them.

Here's a radical thought BT. What if the Catalyst is correct? Choosing an option intended to prevent technological singularity doesn't mean you are indoctrinated. It means you are convinced. Control gives the galaxy a means to prevent technological singularity becoming a serious issue without resorting to extermination or forced hybridisation.

You've heard about that "LegendSave" thing right? I don't know much about it but if I had to guess it's being used as a signifier for what ending choice you choose. It's only created after you make your final choice, but people have tried loading it to no avail.

Seems like they might be gathering dat for some statistic based purpose?

Some times you just have to accept that no matter what you say, it will make no difference, he has his ideas, we have ours, which is why I don't attempt to get people to accept IT, it's still a theory, and until the EC is released that's all it will ever be no matter how many things point to it, I find it more comfortable to consider the EC might just be clarification and nothing more, that way people like him don't get under my skin.

I'll admit that my words have been too harsh toward those who are not ignorant by choice and I apologise all of you. Those who who do choose to remain ignorant however, need a kick in the pants and also need to be shown for what they are to those who might otherwise be swayed. I wouldn't call that trolling.

Noooo.... I wouldn't either, considering that what you are ACTUALLY doing is closer to being a pretientious coffee shop hipster sitting there, complaining about all the plebians whom aren't as "deep" and witty as you are, to understand this deep ending that means absolutely nothing.

It doesn't look like you bother to read my posts properly. At worst, you quote me out of context and straw man as above.

Whatever.
I've dismissed you by now, so say what you will.

And that's your problem. Choosing to remain ignorant.

Not agreeing with you != ignorant.

Honestly, I read through your post and found it to be well written and intelligent.  But you make as many assumptions and use as many ad hoc rationalizations and strawman arguments as anybody here ever does.  Maybe more.

Well, the Protheans actually created the Ilos conduit, based on the other relays in the galaxy. The Earth conduit is straight up reaper tech and they aren't trying to hide it. I don't even really know for sure that it's a conduit, as it teleport you through solid material and flips you upside down in respect to the Earth.

Good idea.  Because those jobs you listed?  Man...  you know how much it sucks to get something like a gallbladder taken out?  Think about how much it'd suck to get the soulectomy required for those jobs.

I'm retaining a respectful silence until I have something intelligent to add. So far similar circles are being drawn just with different emotions.

Well, I just got a message from Priestly about why the IDT thread was locked, and yes, it was apparently because it was getting too large, he decided that since there was no chance that anyone would read through the whole thing, the discussion would continue elsewhere.

Seriously, though, I have missed about 75% of what was said today, so I have no idea what's been going on.

Ah well that's true. Nice of him to let us know, and not like we couldn't just make another IDT thread. Good to discuss here :). Still viewing the Breath scene, was taking it easy the past week, still no further in identifying the objects.

Yeah, I understand. IT has come under a lot of fire recently with people trying to fill the gaps with their own "theory's"

@Big Bad

I missed most of it too... But, i have been working on getting a new job so it's been a long few days.

Working on getting a new job...I don't even...where are your priorities, man?  :D

Night all, I'm heading to bed.
