SOMEONE TELL THEM WE WANT HUSKIFIED THRESHER MAWS!

No!

Based on this message Javik sent me via the Datapad app, what I want are smaller thresher maws:

Thresher maws have gotten much bigger. Too big to ride now. A shame.

Here, I'll just up and haphazardly throw this out there, for the hell of it: has anyone considered the possibility that Shepard's synthetic components, namely ones that assist him/her in their cognitive processes, might have been partially responsible for the Citadel sequences and the "framework" for the indoctrination attempt? Thinking about the geth virtual-reality hivemind, and them giving Shepard a gun because it's "familiar", has me wondering about the catalyst and the Shadow Broker panels.

I haven't really had a chance to throw much together in terms of an actual theory, or how it'd work.

That's where my brain was at earlier, when I was poking and prodding about the work done on Shepard's cerebral area.

Unless EDI was lying, Shepard doesnt have any of those types of synthetic components.

My son says this theory is a no no...

...reason...

Mass Effect - ILLOS - Vigil - says Shepard and Co. are not indoctrinated like the others that passed (Vigil talking about Saren and Geth).

Mass Effect 3 - THESSIA - Prothean VI - Is activated by Shepard.
No problem until Kai Leng shows up and Prothean VI says indoctrinated forces have arrived, activating security protocol & shuts down.

Mass Effect 3 - CRONOS STATION - Prothean VI - says to Shepard & Co. You have rescued me from indoctrinated forces.

Ugh. You're only indoctrniated if you choose control or synthesis. Prior to that you are, clearly, still under your own control.

Personally I really really hope that they give a definitive conclusion with IT definitely being the case, I want a conclusion to mass effect. They certainly don't have to spell everything out and they should leave a few dangling threads to pull at, but more vagaries and I'm done, I want the story to conclude, not just stop.

Agreed. I wouldn't worry. I think the EC will A. definitively prove IT; and B. provide a fitting conclusion to the series.

Corik wrote...

If they say the kid is not real, they basically confirm the theory. I guess in this case no news are good news (at least for us). If they didn't want the speculation to grew as it did... they would have said something.

Yes, this. ITers should take their continued radio silence (I mean even at E3?!? C'mon- if the literal interpretation was true they would be promoting the hell out of the EC at E3) as extremely reassuring, since the only reason to not talk about it would be to avoid spoiling the surprise.

StElmo wrote...

What y'all gonna do if BioWare doesn't prove IT or similar?

Honestly, I used to say it didn't matter either way, as long as the EC made the ending good. But I just don't see that happening unless IT is true. I will lose my **** if IT is not true. I will be as devastated, if not more so, as everyone was after they originally played the ending. Then I'll move on. But I have bet real money on the fact that it will be true.

Besides, you think the ITers will react badly? Just bunker down for the literalists as they lose their mind if IT is true:

"They didn't sell us a whole game, wah!"
"They tricked me, wah!"
"I can't wrap my mind around symbolism, wah!"

(sigh)

This makes me wonder what else I've missed in the dialogue. I've gone through four times, poked around repeatedly, and couldn't remember that line.  The way she words it, it's pretty much confirmed that not only is Shepard's brain 100%, but it's operating completely on its own without any cognitive "assistance" from a processor or anything.

Thanks, byne.  That puts a nail in that coffin.

Well, according to the team, they've written more than 10,000 pages of dialogue total for the Normandy alone.

Playtime has ~100 hours after two weeks.

Skyrim. 300 hours of play total. Haven't touched it in weeks because of touchy mods.

Hm. My Skyrim playtime has ~120 AND I haven't even finished the mainquest yet. First playthrough too.
Guess I will finally pick it up again when Dawnguard is out.

That's how thorough I was with the game.. still not finished when the addon comes out.

Me too, though in my case, I was going to play it recently, but the trouble I've been having with mods (lots of crashing, long loading times, can't isolate the problem) has left me discouraged.

Has anyone noticed that there are only two times that you walk slowly in Mass Effect 3? During the dream sequence and at the end after getting hit by the laser? Also whats up with the infinite ammo? The only time you need to fire really is before going up to the Citadel and if you choose destroy.

Just came up with an interesting theory. I remember reading about the colony Klencory and the Volus seeking 'Beings of Light' which protect civilization from evil synthetic monsters. What if Starbinger decided to take advantage of this information to make him see more legitimate in trying to manipulate Shepard?

I'm right there with you.  I've logged ~270 hours in that game, and I haven't even finished the main quest!  That is, by far, the most time I've ever spent playing a single player game.  The only reason I stopped is because I totally got pulled in by ME3.  I'm sure I'll be playing more Skyrim in the future (as well as ME, of course!).

Quite possible. Another possibility is that he uses a glowing form on other people too, in this case it could have been a glowing Volus
