Also, the Extended Cut is being worked on. The team has been listening to what fans have asked for and are using suggestions to help create it. It is too soon to talk about it yet. I have seen some early work (no I will not give details) and what is being done is very good. When the product is ready to be discussed (as decided by the team making it), then there will be details, release dates, etc.

There's only so much a developer can listen to its fanbase's feedback in such a short time. If IT wasn't planned from the beginning, we're all in for a disappointment (at least to some degree).

That! Thanks Megumi!

That quote gives me hope. Even if IT is not true, I think that means we can actually hope for an ending worthy of Shepard. Yeah, of course there are many possibilities but... The fact that they confirm they are using our suggestions to create it... really gives me hope! :)

EDIT: We should remember that there are also lots of evidences pointing towards EC being planned since the begining.

Even if it wasn't planned it doesn't mean that IT isn't true ;)

True. But even then... IT can be true or false. But if EC is planned since the begining that means the ending was planned to be completed with a DLC... and that's a nice thing to think about.

Even before the EC was announced I had a feeling that there is something more to that and back then I thought that we will see what when ME4 will come...

I don't think a ME4 will be centered around Shepard. I really believe ME3 will be the end of his adventures (even if he's still alive). I think however, the end of Shepard's adventures will end through DLCs like EC. I mean... you can't end a game like this with Shepard dead, humanity almost completely destroyed and your crew disappearing or worse, escaping the fight and abandoning Shepard... It's just impossible.

If there are more Mass Effects I'd bet they will be prequels.

The First Contact War, TIM's history, Rachni Wars/Krogan Rebellions, or the Protheans, or the Inusannon, or the Keepers, or the race that created the Reapers and the beginning of the Reapers.

Just some ideas :)

we are trying to piece together that IT was true all along,  changing the ending to IT would be disappointing if that was never the intention.  if where wrong then can go away knowing we gave it are all and never stopped thinking and kept at it. we well then know more then most people just how mess up the ending really is. :devil:

(but I'd go for a ending where the crucible and citadel shoots out a beam that hits the planet Ploba[/b] reviling a super computer mother brain of the reapers:O setting up the final battle there. :whistle:

In this case, I hope the dlc was planned before launch... I do not ask for IT be confirmed but my choices will be more important... Just that... :(
Apart from this, I heard a long time ago that there was a traitor in the leaked script so, in that way, Cerberus could be awared of Thessia. But, in the game, there are not any signs of this and we do not know who can be the character in the other script, would be EDI a good candidate? And why did they change it? Did I miss something?

Yes, yes I know, but back then I wasn't aware of that :(

BTW I'm not gonna play ME4 WIthout my Sheploo :devil: So the end of Shep's story in ME franchise will be as well the end of mine experience with this game :blush:

Same here. That's why I want a heroic ending... and enjoying some time with Shepard's friends after the battle.

I'm actually in a good situation because I appreciated the ending as it was when I first finished the game. IT just made it so much deeper in sense.

That Ploba planet is really interesting. They should have made a sidequest there where you try and land on a gigantic LCD panel. Posted Image

It almost certainly was- remember that Gamble tweeted TWO DAYS after launch that if we knew 'what was planned', the reaction would be different. Combine that with all of the in-game evidence for IT and you've got a pretty compelling argument for planning.

That doesn't mean they can't incorporate fan feedback into particulars, like which chars we want to see more of and so forth, that is probably all they are referring to, not whether or not they will go with IT.

It would be awesome that IT was truly planned since launch. And now, when they say they are incorporating fan feedback they mean they are changing the IT plot for the literalist's point of view. Hah, that would be... weird... xD

Also, from parabolee's blog:

@satootaku
@masseffect @PatrickWeekes did you feel pressured to change the ending, Isn't it important to stick to your guns on some things?

The reply -
@masseffect
@satootaku We never said we were changing it :) We have ALWAYS had big plans for ME3. It isn't a response-It's been in the works

and

@kaladur
@masseffect Whats with the ending? It was confusing and very dreamlike was it supposed to be like that?
Mass Effect Mass Effect ‏ @masseffect

The reply -
@masseffect
@kaladur The ending was as we intended, so yes? :)

So our theory is the dlc was planned, this ending is just for speculation from everyone before its launch but do you think that dlc would be free? Or it is free now because of our reaction, which changed everything in their future dlc plans.

My bet is it always was planned to be free, but I think some of the MP DLCs were not and they released them for free because fans are pretty angry right now.

Not much, i think. Maybe only this quote from Priestly:

Ah, I remember that from yesterday. Chris was continueously being attacked by some angry fans, so he tried telling them something about the EC. Then another one replied, "Of course that's what he would say."

Sometimes I really feel for him.:(

I've worked with communities in the past (Stargate Worlds, to be precise) and I know how it feels. Whatever you say is going to anger someone somewhere. But people working for communities (CMs, Volunteers, moderators) have a lot of things to be happy about :)

It's the IT memorial wall. It shows both the literalists and the indoctrinationists who helped contributing to this theory, making it what it is today.
