I'm trying really hard to think of any time in either of the previous games where I actually chose a neutral option.

Only one I can come up with is where picking paragon would have resulted in me flirting with Jacob.

I dont miss the neutral option at all.

QFT.  Romance options should ALWAYS be seperate from the usual three.  =/

Thats one of the few things DA2 did well. It had that little heart symbol appear in the middle of the dialogue wheel when you were picking something that would start a romance, and the broken heart for something that would end a romance.

A couple of things that I noticed today when I was playing...

1. Anderson - is referred to as Admiral during one of the comm chances on the Normandy, I believe its Traynor that says, "Admiral Anderson is available on the Vid-Com, Sir."

2. Javik - actually makes quite a few apperances throughout the ship. In Jack's old "room", in the lounge talking to Garrus and a soldier, in the Mess Hall taking to James, and in the AI core arguing with EDI...may be more but that's what I saw today (and during this current playthrough).

3. Created vs. Ceator - if we take a more liberal translation of this statement there are more examples of this in the current cycle then considered at first glance. The Krogan - uplifted by the Salarians to help defeat the Rachni, turned on the Galaxy once this was done. The Geth - I know that this is one is more palatable, but to be fair they still did "rebel" against the Quarians (even if it was for a very good reason). EDI v.1 - created by the Alliance as a sophisticated Military VI, grew into an AI and "rebelled". EDI v.2 - saved by Cerberus, brought back online and recreated as a more sophisticated AI (w/reaper tech) - "rebels" against Cerberus after working w/Shepard in ME 2. Interestingly enough, each of these circumstance also has the very real possibility of being completely resolved by the actions of Shepard throughout the trilogy...

4. Banter - I have been trying to pay closer attention to the banter during my current playthrough. And it truly is amazing how much dialogue really is present about indoctrination, control, synthesis and destruction (now not all of that banter comes out and calls it specifically by these names/titles, but the inference is there). Its really easy to miss or forget...but there really is alot that does foreshadow the ending choices and the possibility of the circumstance.

DA2 did it better, but not well by any stretch of the imagination.  The options were clearly marked but they also still took the paragon/renegade spots.  Which is why there were so many complaints about how Anders is a dick if you don't want to play hide the staff with him.  Technically he was, but the reason is because the only way you could turn him down was to pick the renegade option and be a dick about it yourself.  (Anders was the only one with that problem because he's the only one who came onto Hawke without any provocation)

Yeah, I said the same yesterday. There's also something else very weeeeird in that scene. I would ask everybody to remember when Liara appeared at Mars Research Facility, she was crawling through the vent and she made a lot of noise in his way (Like the cerberus soldiers). The only noise the kid makes is too draw Shepard's attention. When he disappears, no noise is made. Another evidence suggesting that he's an illusion (another more... XD)

... I think I learn something new about the game every time I peek my head in the thread.  Good thinking.

"Hey, the boy doesn't make any noise when disappearing from the vent.  Want proof? Liara makes a crap-ton of noise scrambling through the vent in the game's next location/scene. One makes noise, the other doesn't. Why?"

I noticed this the first time I played the demo. My first thought seeing ventboy disappear was; "He ain't really there is he?"

I had completely forgotten about that fact come release day.

Pretty sure we've discussed this, but looking at it, you could actually say that the kid disappearing is what ultimately got me to join this forum (and this thread in general).

Even upon my first play-through (I didn't play the demo), that was my first clue that something wasn't quite right with what we're meant to see---intentionally so.  And that led me to the BSN to want to discuss it, which led me to the main theory thread.  I've been a BioWare fan for a very long time, but I hadn't really known about the community here.

I don't know if this has been posted yet, but I just saw this thread and thought it was relevent to the IT theory.

http://social.biowar.../index/12241848

Apparently there is a section of dialogue in Mass Effect Retribution that sounds suspiciously similar to the catalyst's lines in the ending. Well, I thought this was pretty interesting!

So, finally got round to some ME3 goodness for the evening, now playing with some crap character as I've promoted all my good ones :P

Whaddaya know, the rebellion pack's out... All as expected... except, wait, cerberus defectors, thessia and the vorcha?

Seems like we're about at midpoint in the campaign, how many more multiplayer DLC do you think before we get to the "take back earth" one?

 So, few things.

This made me chuckle. Look like they'd hidden ANOTHER two 1M1 towers in the TIM convo.

Ok, now onto something weird. Check out the kid (looking creepy as all hell btw)

Posted Image

His arm is twisted. Like, corkscrewed. Now, I haven't done much digging yet (off to bed soon) but it appears that his arm is also like this in the crucible/citadel bit (during gameplay), but it was NOT like this during the control ending cutscene. Will investigate more tomorrow, just thought it was a bizarre oddity.

EDIT - "bizarre oddity". How redundant.

I don't know maybe they will create specter, elcor, hanar, and Salarin STG characters in the MP.

@ TSA.

I think maybe two at most, I am starting to get into the multiplayer a bit more just because it seems like it will have a great impact on the single player aspect of the game.

Maybe the N7 characters we have promoted will help rescue Shepard in the Red ending when Shepard wakes up and depending of how much we have promoted Shepard can be fixed up and resume his/her mission to destroy the Reapers.

We do need Salarian STG. And Elcor could potentially be an interesting change of pace, give them superhigh shields and armor, a heavy gun unique to them, or maybe a thing that morphs other guns when an Elcor carries them, but make them spectaularly slow moving. Hanar are already as represented as they are likely to be, by the Drell. Though visiting Kajhe in SP would be cool. Be a ****in opportunity for some awesome underwater city maps.

There are going to be a lot of pissed off people if Bioware decides it's necessary to play multiplayer in order to finish the endings...

Maybe the number of initial indoctrinated players will determine how difficult the final missions and waves are going to be; more indoctrinated will mean more enemy numbers to put down. It has to be connected in some way or another.

I only hope Bioware adds a renegade option that will allow you to put a bullet in between the god child's eyes, and for paragon through the god child down the synthesis beam and blow the reactor core and call the Normandy to pick you up and Anderson and watch your fleet blow the Reapers back to hell.

Can't see them putting Elcor in multiplayer, at the end of the day it's a lot cheaper to add characters with humanoid movements ;)

Maybe the whole map could be flooded with reaper troops, and Shepard has more support against them, the more MP characters you promoted!

You do realize that the "N7 ops" name is just a nickname Hackett let them keep, right?

It's funny they have time to create mp dlc but they aren't focusing on the Extended Cut dlc that is suppose to come out this summer.

Yeah, this was my thinking too... Having made all those points about why they'd be mad NOT to tie the multiplayer into single player I thought I should go about moving my N7 rating into at least upper double digits :P

They more than likely plan to tie them together. See my thread here: http://social.biowar.../index/12128204

Besides, it's actually two entirely different teams working on EC and new multiplayer DLCs.
