I know we know the technical "source" for these footsteps. HOWEVER, it got me thinking, were these random footstep noises meant to make you feel "paranoid" or feel like you were being "watched" - signs of indoctrination!?

I definitely felt there might have been a stow away watching me ala KOTOR1 mandalorian kid.

Thoughts?

I don't fully understand the second reply from Jessica. Could any of you rewrite it with other words?

Interesting, the way I read it is:

There will be parts of the expansion that can be considered as post ending. i.e. The EC will include events after the choices.

However, the stargazer scene could be considered POST ending so it could just be an expansion of that.

I don't know who I hate more, Stargazer or Rieperbieber...

:crying:

What kills me the most about Stargazer is that he says "many of the details got lost in time". Like WHICH details? Does that mean we are missing something (an ending?), or is the Mass Effect series just one of those games you played in first grade where you tell the student behind you a phrase and you get to the end and the last phrase is no where close to the original phrase.

I suppose that Shepard is a new legend like King Arther for example, as in we know he existed but we don't know exactly what he did. We know the stories, we know the legends but no one knows the truth. To me the stargazer scene happens millenia after the events of Mass Effect 3. Or as an alternative someone finds one of Liara's time capsules but cannot decode it completely

If I were in charge of it, I would have just played the sound as opposed to rendering three or more characters and their walking animations.

This happens again in the end where there is a person under the level, just standing there. I wonder where else in the game do they have people under the level?

This is an excellent remark.
Even before I saw the noises being discussed I noticed strange obscurred voices near the edge between Liara's office and the kitchen (where the two guys are chatting all the time).
Then I recalled that that's from Liara's SB terminal. That was the explaination.
But initlially it made me feel a bit paranoid.

So, if they went for the 'Vigil' theme in the warroom for the calming effect, it shouldn't be too far fetched for them to go for the opposite effect.

I can wait. I just want someone to say me "Don't worry mate, you will be happy with the ending". I don't need to know if IT is true, or how the reapers are destroyed, or... anything. I just need to know I will be proud and I will feel chills like I did when I finished ME1 and ME2.

My thoughts exactly.

They are assets that failed to unload when you leave the CiC area, I've already checked it, when you head to the cabin the guy walking around remains in space along with the two female crew guarding the command centre.

Now I get it. I played previously as an Earthborn and Shepard's parents were dead. I never had a chance to hear his mother's voice.

So it's specifically an asset that wasn't purged in the location transition---and doesn't seem intentionally left there?

Thinking again about the entire end sequence being a puzzle. The "bugs" or "glitches" along with dream like quality.

I'm wondering now, what if those flashback of Liara/Ashley/Kaidan are another piece. What we know, or maybe what we've assumed, is they show your Love Interest BUT only if your LI was one of those three doesn't show any other (Tali, Garrus, Jack, Miranda, Thane etc).

Potential meanings beyond "Bioware didn't have time to render all the LI's"? I've no idea, maybe the characters represent something. All three have been with you from the beginning (obviously not including the one who didn't survive Virmire), the only one who isn't romance-able by both gendered Shepard's is Ashley who is also the only non-biotic, Moreover why would it show Joker then Anderson then your LI? Maybe they represent a part of your mind/soul.... Your skill, your courage, your heart?

Thanks for pointing that out, I've been thinking about that for a while now.
Saying, that Bioware hadn't had enough time to include a few more 2second flashbacks is kinda absurd.
Just scratching that LI part and showing only Anderson and Joker would have been just as good.

Something felt odd about that, but i couldn't put a finger on it, until MegumiAzusa wrote about the different
dialogs of the squad when facing the human reaper skeleton in the cerberus base.
(I'll quote the post as soon as I find it again :D)
She split the squad in 2 groups - Kaidan, Ashley, Liara and Vega, who showed signs of indoctrination, like the
feeling of being watched and so on, and the rest, who behaved quite normal.
Now, I don't think it's a coincidence, that the existing flashbacks only feature a LI of said group. (Exluding Vega, because, as we know, he isn't an LI option)
Subtle indoc. hint maybe? Sadly, that does not explain how Anderson and Joker fit into this, but interesting
nevertheless.

Also this:

MaximizedAction wrote...

Maybe the hight pitch
notes that play during those three flashbacks might help draw a
connection. Also, all three flashbacks are blue toned (control/Reaper color).
Also, the sounds play during the three pulses of the blue Crucible beam.

Maybe Megumi's sig might provide a hint. Thought, we haven't really theorized about Joker fitting into that.

Hm...for some reason Kaiden isn't shown in the flashbacks.

I admit, it's a sort of shady train of thought, but it guess, sharing it won't hurt.

And please don't chastise me in behalf of the all mighty grammar - I'm not a native.

Garrus and Tali also with you from the beginning, but neither romancable until ME2. And I got the feeling neither were very plot-important after their indroductions in ME1. Liara had her knowledge of the Protheans and the ability to Meld, Kaiden/Ashley both have tons of dialogue with either Shepard and you get a sense of familiarity with them as fellow Alliance soldiers and friends. Joker and Anderson also with you from the beginning, and both are close to Shepard's inner circle.

Well, without Tali you'd never have found the evidence to implicate Saren. I'll count that as her introduction though. Garrus I hate to admit is possible to avoid recruiting in ME1, and doesn't offer critical plot-stuff beyond emotional support and being the best buddy in the galaxy. Interesting fact about Liara incoming though... In my latest ME1 playthrough I left the mission to find her on Therum until DEAD last, as in right before getting locked down and escaping to Ilos. When you bring her on board and tell her about the situation, she has a hissy fit about how she's been studying Protheans for 50 years and it's "Not fair!!!" that Shepard and the Normandy crew has discovered all the answers by having them fall into their lap.
:lol::lol::lol::lol:
The only thing she provides you with is the knowledge of Ilos from her mind-meld. In that sense, Liara's ME1 importance is the same as Tali's; she gives you one piece of information that advances the story. She's still a character of critical importance to the plot, but that dialogue was hilarious and totally worth it.
